My daughter and I had an absolute blast piloting the boat, and once we got over the fear factor that we were going "too fast" and gained confidence in piloting the boat for the first time, it felt like second nature. We did the 3 hour Mystic River tour which ended with a "free sail" hour at the end. However, we opted not to go out into the Sound due to heavily windy conditions, so we stayed in the channel in the "playground" area doing donuts and figure-eights. Before we knew it the 3 hours was up. Rob was a great host and he taught us how to pilot the boats in no time. He was also very knowledgeable of the Mystic seaport area. We had a great time and will absolutely be making this a regular part of our yearly Mystic trips!

The reviews were all highly praising and it looked like a fun experience. I have to say: don't hesitate! Book them! Rob was a pro guide and made sure we understood how to operate our boat safely and how to get the most fun out of it. Yes, there are safety things that you need to be aware of, but he was very encouraging of us trying out what the boat can do. We loved getting to do donuts in our boat! The tour itself was very informative, and we really got a feel for the area. We're already looking forward to returning for another season with a full group of friends to rent out all the boats. This is a must-do activity when visiting Mystic. Be sure to arrive on time as requested so that you can be briefed on the safety. That is so important, and that is why they tell you in advance that you will be turned away if you are late to the safety briefing. For those of you who may be wondering, there is ample parking, and it was about a 15-20 minute drive with traffic from downtown Mystic. Again, a huge thank you to Rob for being an awesome guide and helping us have the best experience possible for my husband's birthday surprise. Hope to see you again soon!

If you go, try to sit at the back or in the middle of the boat. We sat at the front and struggled to see what was being talked about. It was a great length of time at 75 mins and parking was easy in the parking garage. If you are looking for something different where you can walk away relaxed and more knowledgeable, take the tour! You won't be disappointed!

We had…read moreperfect weather and a very relaxing one hour and fifteen minutes on the water taking in the sights. We saw 3 lighthouses, none of which do I remember their names (drat), and I was able to hear the guide tell us on this cruise. It was great fun being out on the water, and we really enjoyed this. Too bad it was so short in duration.

Mystic Bike and Kayak is terrific. We were in town for a wedding and wanted to do a bike ride…read moreearly in the morning - and Mystic Bike and Kayak was the only place we could find that was open early. We were pleasantly surprised. The bikes are new and in great condition. After describing a route to us, Jim, the proprietor, said "actually, I'll take you" and proceeded to lead us on an hourlong tour complete with history and other interesting commentary. Five stars for the experience!
