Had a wonderful time on the boat for a breakfast sail with 6 gal pals. Hannah and Eric are such nice people, great hosts. Hannah made sure we were comfortable consistently throughout the sail with our food and drinks, and Eric was a great guide. The boat is lovely, with both shaded seating and sunny seating at the front. They even accommodated us to have our sail on the weekend day that had better weather. Great location nearby Greenport village. We really enjoyed the sail, would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a fun activity to do in Greenport! :)

A beautiful sail on Saturday the fourth, and the chance to experience it with a wmll tuned first rate crew. At first they went in search of enough wind to sail, and we ended the cruise racing it to stay clear of impending storms. read more

Hands down the best thing to do on the North Fork. Erick, Hannah and Christian took 8 of us out sailing for several hours on the schooner Bonnie Lynn, and it made for the most memorable, vibrant and relaxing time. Bonnie Lynn is an incredible boat, with Erick and Hannah the perfect hosts. I can't think of a better way to introduce people to, and share with them, the beauty of the North Fork. We cannot wait for next time, and neither should you. read more

My family had a wonderful morning sail for my dad's birthday. During our 2.5 hour charter, we had bagels and coffee, went for a swim, and hung out in the sun on the front of the boat. The boat is beautiful and has a fascinating history. Hannah and Erick are warm and knowledgeable hosts. We hope to do a longer charter next time. I can't recommend the experience more! read more

We had a great time sailing with Hannah and Erick over Labor Day weekend! We were a group of 6 friends, most of whom had not been on a sailboat before and they happily answered all of our questions. They were both so friendly and accommodating, always checking if we needed anything throughout the sail. It was a great experience and we would love to sail with them again soon! read more

We had an amazing time on the Surprise, it was definitely the highlight of our trip to Greenport. Captain Hannah and Erick were friendly and made sure we got the best views of the sunset! The boat is beautiful and we had a ton of room for social distancing. Hannah responded so quickly during booking and made the process seamless. Capt. Erick and Hannah were great! My family of 5, (15 yo and 11 yo twins) had an amazing time onboard the Surprise! We went on a sunset cruise , ordered some takeout dinner which we ate onboard and Hannah was always attentive to our needs. Their sailboat was impeccable and so was their service! The claim to fame is that the whole thing runs on batteries and thus, is green and clean. The boat owner and operator (Andrew) was a real hoot- he took great pride in all that is Greenport, the boat, the harbor and the environment - we had a great time out there with him as we motored around Shelter Island and the bay in general. The cost is extremely reasonable - $15 for adults and if you are nice, you'll get a lollipop. The boat leaves from the rear of Prestons Marine supply. The trip is about 45 minutes and a great way to see some nature - Osprey's in particular but plenty of other birds... Parking around town.

The cruise had 3 offerings of their specialty wines, a nice red, white and sparkling wine along with all you can each shrimp and freshly shucked oysters. If you couldn't consume shellfish, they offered a charcuterie box from Mamma Lombardis. Pretty nice offerings Bedell! Parking was easy peasy, the train station lot had plenty of available parking. Once we boarded, we each grabbed a wine glass and headed to the upper deck. My wife, looking so elegant in her summer dress, it was just a perfect night for a romantic cruise on Long Island. You don't have to call me late for dinner, I saw the crew carrying the oyster aft (that's the back of the boat for you non sailing Yelpers) I grabbed a plate and loaded up with a nice amount of shrimp with cocktail sauce as well as oysters. Ever try sail while trying to keep cocktail sauce off my white silk Tommy Bahama shirt? I did it because I have mad skill. I noticed the couple next to me, I made small talk with the guy. This woman, she must of eaten 2 dozen oysters! And I dig that! Enjoy yourself, don't hold back. I had about 6 oysters, a good amount of shrimp and a quite a few glasses of Bedell wines. The captain of the boat did something very cool. He brought the ship very close to lighthouse for a perfect picture spot. Could this night get any better? Here's where and I hope Bedell reads this review. You have the perfect opportunity to talk to all the guests and sell your winery! One of my favorite parts of our stay on Shelter Island! Since beaches aren't so easily accessible…read morewithout a day pass (none being offered due to COVID), we needed something to do during our stay that would take a few hours. There's a parking lot where all the trails start, so it's easy to find on google maps. There are 4 different trails you can take, depending on how long you want to spend there. We decided to do the green trail, which is the 2nd to longest trail. The map said it would take 2.5 hours (for 6 miles), but we ended up completing it in about 2 hours at a moderate pace. This trail goes along the shore line, so it was nice and breezy for a lot of it! I liked that it was more of a nature walk with a very well-marked path! Just be prepared for a lot of bug swatting. And also check for ticks at the end! If you come to Shelter Island, I'd highly recommend checking this place out. If you don't have a lot of time, the red trail only takes 45 mins.

I booked a "Breakfast On Board" charter on Surprise as a surprise for my longtime girlfriend (now Fiancee). I planned to propose during charter. After an easy booking online, Hannah reached out to me and coordinated our itinerary for the day. She was very helpful with with guiding me to choose the perfect backdrop and location during charter for the proposal as well as very accommodating with the photographer and videographer i planned to have on board as well. 13 Days after booking - the day finally came. Hannah and Erick were ready to go as soon as we arrived at the dock. It was from start to end a beautiful day. Hannah was very attentive to us during the entire charter and my proposal went off perfectly with an amazing view of Bug Lighthouse. Had an amazing time aboard The Surprise. Eric and Hannah were the perfect hosts, guiding my family on a wonderful sail. They accommodated every request and were so easy going and helpful. My mother is a 70 year old woman with many ailments and yet she found it quite lovely and easy to navigate the ship. My father and husband loved hearing the boats history and all the fun stories about her journey. The boat is gorgeous and maintained perfectly. There is Sun and Shade on this boat for each type of guests. If you are cold, they provide blankets. If you need towels after a swim, they will provide as well. My kiddos loved listening to tunes on the front of the boat. The seats are super comfy. I can not recommend this charter more. Worth every penny. read more

We just had the most wonderful experience sailing with East End Charters for a magical Sunset cruise with our group of six celebrating 2 birthdays. The 60 foot Ketch was pristine, wide, stable, incredibly comfortable and really roomy. The boat owners and captains Charlie and Sarah were lovely and made our charter fantastic. We brought a a charcuterie board from mattituck cheese shop and lobster bakes from the Southold fish market and Cake. My family of 5 (from 13-78 years old) took East End Charters a few weeks ago to celebrate my 53rd birthday. We had the most amazing and memorable day. We did the afternoon sail from 1-5p and loved every minute of it. Had time to sail, swim, relax and have some cocktails and cake to celebrate! An amazing experience all around! My group of 6 had an awesome time during our sunset sail with Hannah and Captain Erick. Not only was the boat "Surprise" beautiful and super clean, the service was excellent as well. Our sailing trip with East End Charters was the highlight of our weekend on the North Fork. The boat is great and very comfortable for groups to enjoy. Hannah and Erick are excellent hosts and show you all around the area. We enjoyed jumping off the boat for swimming and a nice breakfast when we got on board. I have chartered 'Surprise' twice now and would do so a few dozen times more! Erick and Hannah are an easy-going, knowledgeable team, making it easy to relax and enjoy the waters of the Peconic River and Gardiners Bay. Simple to book, flexible on arrangements, full of laughs, and reliable, this is a fantastic way to spend a few hours on the East End. Highly recommended. read more

Hannah, Erick and Libby crewed this 2-hour brunch sail on Sunday. The ship is amazing, scenery is unbeatable, and the crew makes everyone feel comfortable, safe and in excellent hands. Once we motored out and put up sails, you enjoy the quiet along with coffee, fresh OJ, croissants and quiche. I wish all my Sundays could be this civilized!! Highly recommend!! read more

Took my husband on a sunset sail for his birthday. Everything was perfect, from the ship, "Surprise" to the crew to their suggestions for where to eat in Greenport. The only thing missing was a decent sunset, but I can't hold it against them!! Beautiful experience and we will be back. read more

We took the 4 hour afternoon tour and it was amazing. Hannah and Erick were so accommodating and made the experience on the Surprise so much better. By far the best part of our Labor Day weekend trip. I look forward to coming back and will take a trip with East End Charters again! read more
