The prior paint job in 2019 using Dunn Edwards and Rustoleum paint had faded and some areas on the iron railings were rusting. Manny Camargo recommended a more appropriate paint that will withstand the elements and was very meticulous in preparing and completing the work. Of all the contractors I interviewed, Fabian seemed the most knowledgeable and offered the most useful advice. He recommended a certain stain and the place to buy it from. He's spot on that wood exposed to outdoor elements would do better with an oil based stain. He was always prompt and professional. But the quality of his work is what stands out. He sanded our door down to provide a smooth surface for the stain, took down our weatherstripping, and lined all the surfaces. His prep work was outstanding. His application of the stain was consistent with no drip or lines. He worked around all the edges perfectly. Our door came out so beautiful as you can see from the picture. It's the first impression for any of our visitors and we wanted it done perfectly and Fabian did an amazing job. And on top of all of this, his quote was one of the competitive of all the folks I interviewed. We will use Fabian again for our future painting needs.

One of the big jobs was getting rid of our ugly 1980s oak cabinets. I had Home Depot come out to quote re-facing. I had another company quote custom cabinetry. Both were close to or way over my entire kitchen remodel budget. When I finally hired a contractor, he told me about Customcraft Painting and Jeff, the owner. My contractor said Jeff can paint over my entire cabinets to make it look French Country (the look I was going for). I couldn't imagine my ugly oak being turned in to a French Country look. I called Jeff and he brought over samples. I'm pretty good with first impressions and I was really impressed with Jeff. He knows his stuff and I just felt really comfortable but bottom line was despite what a nice guy he is, I was concerned about how much this was going to cost me. The job we had for Customcraft was to repaint our patio Arbor (shading). The job was done better…read morethan I expected, Jeff really had gone for an extra mile in finishing the paint job! Before the job was even started, I thought this is not a big deal, my son and I could do that over the weekends... but once the job started, I realized this painting job is bigger then repainting a kitchen Cabinet doors! Jeff explained to me, the old paints needed to be stripped, sanded. Not only that, the original installer didn't properly prime the wood and didn't seal any joints, so over the years, some woods were damaged by water and need to be repaired...all these, Jeff was telling me not because asking for more money, but he was telling me what the problems he had found out, and suggested to me what would be the best solutions and options... Our maple kitchen cabinets were 20 years old with the lower cabinet doors and drawers water damaged…read moreand darkened by sun and use. You could see a distinct "tan" line on the cabinet frames showing the original maple color protected by the door or drawer front and the darker shade of the unprotected surfaces. We got several estimates with Miguel's being the most reasonable. To help with our decision, he offered to refinish a door for no cost to let us see the results. He took the most water damaged door in the kitchen to his shop and two days later returned it looking like a brand-new door, the cracks, water damage and darkening gone with the original maple color completely restored. We scheduled the job and Miguel arrived as promised. All the doors were numbered and removed, and two other team members stayed the rest of the day to refinish the cabinet frames. They were careful to prep the kitchen with tape, protected the floors with heavy paper, and even used plastic sheeting to block off the kitchen from the rest of the house to contain any dust. At the end of the day, the frames were sanded and refinished, the original maple color restored. They cleaned up and left without us needing to do any cleaning. Two days later, Miguel and team returned to install the restored doors. The doors looked like new and were reinstalled with a lot of attention to ensuring they were aligned with the frames. The maple colors on the doors and frames matched perfectly. Could not have been happier with Miguel and this team's skill, communication, and professionalism.
