I was a customer with them for many years, even with about 4 previous companies that sold out to them where my account transferred over. I moved about 2 miles or so away and they told me that since I am moving, I will have to go to a new plan which significantly increased my cost. So much for loyalty to their customer base and how pitiful on retention as I decided to go with another local provider with better ratings. Their communication was also poor when calling and the wifi would regularly go in and out at times also. Service person was supposed to be there on a Friday to install new move, never showed and I had to call them back to see what was going on and by Tuesday I still had no definite answer from them about leaving my service alone. Too much of a hassle to deal with not to mention not having my wifi for several days. Very disgruntled with their service and lack of care for loyal customers. Keep looking for better service if your needing interent. read more

99% of the time, it's great. The other 1% is a major hassle. It would be less of a hassle if: 1) they communicated when there are issues, and 2) they provide some automated tools, such as modem resets, to their customers. Poor communication. Took 2 trips, numerous phone calls with incorrect information given like techs says problem fix when never even went inside. The finally fixed problem but stole hot spot equipment. Customer service passed me off to someone who couldn't help. Rental persons at residence are filing police report. Since they bought out a local company the service has been sketchy, everyday the service is in and out, and streaming is always buffering. Since May 2024 I have been scheduled for an upgrade of my equipment, only to be told they are working on the towers, again in Oct 2024 I was scheduled for equipment upgrade, but guess what, canceled again, still working on the towers. You cant call and talk to anybody thats local. Total crap company. Miss the Casair days when service was good to great. read more

They bought out our local company NOW it is all "Garbage Service" More down service than up .... No connection at home so this was done from our local library. I'm so happy that today will be my last day with point-no-broadband. I have had issue after issue for a year and for the last 2 weeks have expected a call back from tier 2 but have I received that call? No. I have made the request several times. I have asked to speak to support management so I can figure out why tier 2 doesn't call and so I can actually have good internet, but no. Not a single call. My internet is spotty at best and worse than dial-up normally. My streaming services think I am using a VPN, which I'm not, so they block me from watching their services. Why, because my internet is so spotty, they can't see my ip address. Point doesn't care. Point doesn't call. I have had 15 different techs out to my house and everyone says the last guy was an idiot but he is the best and every time it is the same. Do not use this service, search them on the BBB or any other review site. Today I will have internet and I wish I would have dropped point sooner. So long and good riddance. read more

I had the fiberoptic cable laid almost 2 YEARS ago. I have called repeatedly to try to set up service, only to be told it wasn't "hooked up" yet. Fine. This month I called and was told it was available. I set a date for the technician to come out. I set aside 2 hours to be home, have the dogs put up, etc. No one showed. I called. They couldn't imagine what happened. I set another appointment, and they no-showed again. I called the sales office and was told "it hasn't been set up yet." No call to let me know, no e-mail, just let me sit at home for 2 hours when I could have been doing something else. They had my email and my cellphone. HORRIBLE customer service. Don't use them, if this is how they treat potential new customers, I can only imagine how they treat existing customers who have already forked over cash. read more

This ISP is run by incompetent people. The only "value" Pont Broadband brings to the table is collecting the money from your local community and sending out of your local community. Of course, Comcast does the same thing. So if you have a choice between the two, you might as as well go with the company that provides the best service. That's Comcast. Regarding the money thing... with Point Broadband, the majority of customer payments (YOUR MONEY) are not staying in your local community. All that money is going to Rackspace in Texas. Point Broadband outsources all major services of your Internet service to Rackspace. You can verify this by traceroute-ing their major service end-points. Point Broadband acquired our previously reliable ISP (BVU Internet) in the Bristol VA/TN and surrounding areas. Two years ago, Point Broadband disabled the ability for residential customers to use private domain names in their e-mail configuration. In other words, a customer cannot set the reply-to address that they want recipients to use when responding to their e-mail. So, if you want to conveniently run your private e-mail on a private domain then you will need to find another ISP that will allow this. Comcast is not so rude to prevent you from doing that. read more

Update: Point Broadband in Dadeville still does not work with certain standard TV brands or Ring security devices. The team indicates they have been working on this since May. Also, their service is currently down and has been so for 3 days. Any response as to what governing authority to complain to would be helpful. Since Point Broadband is the only provider in my area (other than satellite providers) and they rely on utility easements for their infrastructure, I assume they must answer to some City or County governing authority. read more

Point Broadband ran fiber-optic cables throughout our neighborhood, then began setting up service for individual houses a few months later. During the process, they destroyed our sprinkler system. I was originally told that either PB or their contractor would come out and fix everything. I have sent several messages and placed a number of calls to try and get this fixed. They sent someone out a few times, but each time they just took a look around and said they would have someone contact me to come to fix it. They never respond to messages, and phone calls always yield the same non-result. And this is only the installation issues. The service itself was atrocious, and we canceled less than two months after having it installed. It's unreliable, and you don't get the speeds you are paying for. It's also unusable during peak hours (usually after 5pm ET). Stay far, far away from this company. read more

Seems to have come in and ruined a local broadband company that had stellar reviews beforehand. There are outages multiple times per week, and they follow up with deleting their customers' feedback from their facebook page rather than address the issue. They delete their own posts announcing previous outages to make things not seem as bad as they are. If these guys come into your community, be warned! read more

Company refuses to provide service to my address even though providing to neighbors on all sides. Their federal grant requires them to do so, but they won't explain to me why they exclude my address. Although still soliciting new customers in my area, including sending me a mailer, their latest claim is they don't have enough cable and I'll have to wait for someone to drop service. This has to be a boldface lie as they are still soliciting and signing up others in my neighborhood, just not me for some reason! read more
