This is my first time to stay at this resort. My condo has lots of space and a fantastic view! G34 is the unit number. The wrap around balcony gives you lots of space as well. The shuttle service on the property will come pick you up and take you anywhere you want to go on the property. There are 3 beautiful pools and 2 delicious restaurants! One restaurant is casual, the other fine dining, both are excellent! The entire staff are so friendly and always smiling!
I really wish I could have given point pleasant 5 stars but this visit was full of disappointments. Just so you know this is my second visit and third for my friend I was traveling with. Let me start by giving credit where it's due, this resort is beautiful. Great location (only 8 min) to red hook. The landscaping is gorgeous and the grounds so well kept. The units are unique and well laid out with great views. On the grounds is a restaurant Ocean 89 that has one of the most incredible dishes I have ever eaten in my life (lobster and waffle) do yourself a favor and order this. Warnings-here is what made my visit disappointing and a warning for you. 1. The lobby has hours and closes at 5pm when you go to the beach for the day you miss them and this is very difficult if you want help, fresh towels, help around the resort or room issues in the evening because there isn't anyone there to help you. 2. There are supposed to be 2 restaurants open-one for breakfast and lunch one for dinner. The grille was closed which required us to spend double the money taking taxis into town to eat. This was never told to us before booking and even at check in they shared that it was open. The front desk was shocked to learn it was closed. 3. The lobby staff asks you for your feedback but is very dismissive and defensive. I was made to feel I was heard when expressing my concerns. 4. Just as I was relaxing on my trip my bathroom flooded. It was discovered that there was a major leak in the wall. It flooded out the bathroom and kitchen. I had to pack and move units 5. Biggest issue the power goes out and stays out for hours. 2 nights in a row from 9-1 am the power was out and when it's 90 degrees outside this makes the unit so extremely hot. You can't charge your phone. You can't watch tv, you can't use the toilet, the shower. In fact my friend was in the shower when it went out and she had to use bottled water to remove soap from her body. When I complained to the management at the office they said oh yes we knew it was happening we don't have a way of telling you all?!! How do you not warn your guests of a major power outage 2 nights in a row?! I plan to return to St. Thomas I absolutely love it but most likely not point pleasant unless they make some changes and updates.
Point Pleasant has exactly what we want in a condo. Privacy! From our stay in C8, and many of the condos, you cannot into other condos and they cannot see into yours. We've been to other places where you can count 10 balconies and wave at your neighbors... not our ideal of relaxing. It's great to walk out and have coffee watching the sunrise or a nice tropical drink in the evening before calling it a night on a private balcony with a great view. There are three pools on-site, pool on top the restaurant down by the shoreline is the most busy, but never crowded. The pool by the gazebo is a short walk and the one we liked the most as we were usually the only people there. Margaritaville is there if you want a party atmosphere, and there are two restaurants on-site, both very good. We mostly eat out on the balcony though. Coki is a great beach that's about a 8 minute walk. But the best little beach is the tiny beach at the resort which leads to some great snorkeling around the point. Pro tip! Get the free drink on check in; and be sure to have some bug repellant anywhere on the island if you're out around dusk or dawn, I'm a no see um magnet. They will get you and are merciless.
Beautiful resort, perfect location with stunning views! Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Large room with all amenities , very quiet and relaxing. Stayed for the holidays and our trip was magnificent!( Lots of steps as it's built into the hills so bring comfy walking shoes) First visit to the island and we will be back! Thanks so much to Vincia, Willie and the entire staff for making our trip so wonderful! Happy New Year!
The views for Point Pleasant are beautiful but if you have knee or hip issues, I wouldn't recommend this place. The resort is on top of a hill. They do have someone that can take you down or up to your room but that's only until 6pm. Then, you are on your own and good luck with that. The rooms were nice. There was a full size refrigerator, microwave and a little stove top if you want to cook while you are there. The resort is walking distance from Coki beach but again, you will have to go up a hill to get there. Nonetheless, I could see myself staying here again for the views and the nice rooms.
During our 6 day vacation, we had a lovely time at this lovely resort. Our room was just beautiful and looked like it was furnished from a Pottery Barn catalog. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Our view from our second floor balcony of the ocean and of St. John in the distance, was breathtaking. We also spotted iguanas at various times in the trees below. There are 3 pools, a nature trail, a casual bar/restaurant (Shoreline) and a fine dining with a bar (Mirador). There are also lots of steps for exercise. We went down to the small Sugar Beach one morning to find a few chairs, and a nice gentleman who was raking seaweed. Shoreline is right by one of the pools, and you can get a drink from their bar and take it up to the pool. There is a water sports rental shack there as well. Our sofa and armchair were incredibly comfortable for reading or tv watching. We had a rainy day perfect for just that. The shower had a large ledge for all our products. Our kitchen was stocked with supplies - coffee maker, blender, dishes, pots, lots of glasses, cutting boards, etc. There was a 2-burner cooktop, fridge, and microwave. We got some groceries and alcoholic beverages at Moe's, the grocery in Red Hook. Red Hook also has the ferry station, several restaurants, and shops. Tip 1: The resort is isolated and not walkable to town, but it is only a 5-minute cab ride (typically $5 per person each way). The front desk associate will call a cab for you. It's easy to find a cab for the ride back. You may also get a complimentary ride by staff to the lobby from your room, if you are further away from the lobby. It was a hefty walk from ours, by either going up the stairs, or uphill on the winding road. The ferry is $16 round trip to St. John (a must-do). Tip 2: Check the cabinet above the fridge and you may find leftover items from past guests. We found coffee & coffee filters, olive oil, pasta, and rice. We also found a small cooler in the closet, which we used for drinks on the beach. Guests may also taxi over to the Margaritaville resort next door to dine at their restaurant. We did so for breakfast one morning. We chose to take the path along the water to get there and we stepped on 3 rocks to cross the water. We were disappointed there were no lounge chairs on our balcony, but we addressed it with the staff and they took our feedback. The adirondack chairs were fine but not as comfortable. We also had a patio table and chairs. It's very quiet and peaceful for much of the time. I would recommend it for a relaxing holiday.
Great Resort with Amazing Views! - Stayed at Unit C6 This was our first time in the USVI and I am glad that we chose this resort. I will break my review into two parts (resort and villa). Resort - The resort is nested in a hill/mountain right off the ocean. It is a really nice combination. Premises are nice and very clean. The service was great. I have no complaints. They also have two small beaches on the premises that are very convenient if you don't want to leave the resort or if you just want to go and relax at any given time. Unfortunately due to COVID we were not able to fully enjoy the resort as amenities were closed (i.e. restaurant, watersport, gym). The resort has a good location. It is close to several attractions, beaches, ferry, Red Hook, etc. Depending on what your plans are, you might want to consider renting a car. Although the resort is within walking distance of several places, the roads have no sidewalks or shoulders to walk on, so it might pose a challenge to go to these places. There are supermarkets, pharmacies, retail stores, and restaurants within a 5-minute drive. You can grab a taxi or local bus. Overall the resort is great and will definitely stay here next time. Villa - I stayed in unit C6 (corner villa), this villa needs some love. The view from this unit is amazing. It is also located at the street level, so it is easy to bring your groceries in. It has a nice wrap around balcony. This for me was the best feature of the apartment. You can just sit and relax on the balcony overlooking the ocean and the islands on the horizon. The apartment itself needs some love (ice maker was not working, curtains will not fully slide, time to change the mattress). These are small changes that the current owner needs to do. It would be helpful if the villa included some beach chairs, umbrellas and cooler so guests can take them to the beach. I think that would have been a good and inexpensive addition. Overall the villa serves its purpose and the views and the balcony are just fantastic. I guess you cannot have everything.
For the rates and the location, this place is absolutely wonderful. The staff was always friendly and inviting. The views are spectacular. It is hilly, but we had a car which made is WAY easier. I cant imagine staying here without a car however they do have someone who can take you all over so it's not the end of the world. But beware those roads are steep and tight if you DO have a car (and drive on the left!). Theres no right in front building parking but its close enough for a quick 1 minute walk to your room and plenty of spaces. There is a small private beach down some steps that was great for snorkeling - we saw a variety of fish and stingrays and plenty of coral. It is a bit rocky but had no problems lounging there or walking over them to get to the sandy areas. It does only have a few chairs but is isolated and comfortable plus you can walk over to the Sugar Bay resort beach which is completely secluded given that resort is closed and it takes about 2 minutes to get there from the PP beach through super shallow water. Plenty of places to each nearby including on the resort, close to Red Hook also to take the ferry to St John. Our room itself was nice and clean. It was a bit run down in some areas and we had bugs in our kitchen that got into our food as well. The toilet paper roll also fell out of the wall. These are all minor things though and not a vacation ruiner but they could use a little refresh but again, all depends on the unit. And if you dont like your unit and they're not full, call the desk and they can adjust you! I would note, make sure you know what room you are booking. Where the majority does have ocean views, some of those views might have an abandoned hotel, or a telephone pole or a sewer next to it. Some reviewers also mentioned the hills but if you didn't figure it out before booking its on a hill so not sure how thats a shocker to anyone.
My honey did good with this birthday present. Where to begin. Ok, I'm not a fan of islands because they don't have a lot of things to do. In such a off the ground adventurous chic, and it's hard to plan island trips in the air other than parasailing. Been there done that, a few times. Soooooo, babe booked a great villa for us and my birthday and they have so many things that I love. One, they great you with a lemonade that'll make ya mommma duck, so she doesn't get slapped. Hahhaha Oh, yeah the lemonade is spiked with the best fruit cruzan ever. Yesterday we had vla k cherry, today was mango, but LISTEN...you can't get that anywhere else because they make freshly squeezed lemonade and everyone else is fountain. Yuck! The staff is amazing and the customer service is impeccable. Jean, silent n ( jah) took really good care of is and he's proud of his staff, because of their outstanding customer service. The room is amazing. Fully equipped, wrap around balcony, full kitchen and dishes, comfy bed, boring bathroom, and awesome living room. Very cozy. Great place to eat on the balcony. ( we bought groceries at moes ) If you go eat off the shore, don't eat the sushi or nachos. Try a burger. Best sushi is at Raw. Lots of things are in redhook. Anyway, it's a great stay. Many beaches to check out. Having a ball.
I absolutely love staying at Point Pleasant, all of villas seem to have incredible views of the ocean, you can hear the waves from the first row, and the privacy can't be beat. Seriously, just spent a week in Maui, the landscaping was Disney level artificial, I could see 12 other balconies from mine, into at least a half a dozen of the villas, and the price was right at 3x. At PPR the landscaping is clean, but not artificial, the views are exceptional, the water is warmer than the Pacific, and from staying at multiple villas I don't ever recall being able to see into, or others being able to see into my villa. You get the feeling you're on your own little private villa away from everyone else. PPR is not "on a beach", but there is a great little beach at the end of a trail with a few lounge chairs which rarely has more than 2-4 people on it. And Coki, one of the better beaches and very good snorkel site, is a 5 or so minute walk. Point Pleasant my not be for everyone, but if you want privacy and a great selection of ocean view villas it's hard to beat.
Point Pleasant may be the name, but pleasant is an understatement! After being well past due for a vacation, let alone one to a tropical environment during a time when it was snowing back home (Ohio) I decided to stay here. Let me say this was the perfect place to pick! I did my research well in advance. Desiring the versatility of a condo for rent, this place fell perfectly in place with that. I searched for quite sometime prior to executing the reservations here to ensure it was the 'perfect' place. Upon showing up here I was mind blown when I walked into the lobby to check in (First picture is from the lobby, no filter either, enjoy)!! They were very friendly and even with my check in accompanied a mighty tasty adult beverage! After being told all the info and concluding the check the room/unit came next. I was not let down at all. The pictures on their website were very accurate and showed everything with great detail and truly how much room there was for my stay here. While the reason for my visit was more forgettable, my memories of Point Pleasant are NOT! The view day in and day out was breathe taking! Located onsite is the Mirador which I would recommend, and the Shoreline Grille. Neither of the two are disappointing in any way! Both well worth the visit and a walking distance away in the perfect climate! I had a lower unit E5 which did not disappoint me one bit. The view was to die for! Although part of the view was blocked by some foliage near the front but it was nothing to fret over. Point Pleasant is located on a hill which can make walking around quite the task, but the view makes up for it and the property overall is well worth it. The staff was very courteous and handled every question I had. The private beach onsite is nice. It is small but efficient and quite tranquil. Three pools for swimming and tanning are onsite as well. If you have done your research this wouldn't be a surprise, but when you have clear water like this who cares about a pool? One of them is located above Shoreline Grille as well. With the back drop of neighboring islands and St. John the view doesn't get justice from pictures. Not even close. All around this place did not disappoint. Upon my return to USVI - St. Thomas this Point Pleasant is on the list to get my reservation again.
The views are unbelievable-my husband and I never wanted to leave! We booked D35 via AirBnB and loved everything about our experience. The balcony overlooks the ocean and we could even sit in bed and see the amazing view. This resort is VERY hilly, so walking to and from restaurants and the lobby is not for the faint of heart. We loved the pool located at the top of the resort. It was quiet and private and had incredible views overlooking the island. This resort is essentially condos, so some rooms are booked via the owners, while others are booked directly through the resort. Our room could have used better cleaning (ceiling fans were disgustingly dusty) but honestly our experience overall was so great that it didn't matter much in the grand scheme of our vacation. Service was very friendly and timely. We rented a cooler from the resort several times for beach trips and loved that we could buy groceries and make meals in our room to save money on dining out. Overall, fantastic experience. We can't wait to come back!
I loved loved my stay in unit B-16! First off, when you arrive the front desk staff is so helpful and friendly. Dont turn away from the rum and lemonade, it was a perfect beginning! Since all units are independently owned, but managed by point pleasant it's easy to see how there are differing opinions of the units. B-16 was just perfect. It had all the kitchen you need, including a blender, toaster and coffee maker, and full dinner stuff. The balcony was perfect because there was a table you could sit at and watch the water where I watched the sun rise and watched turtles in the water. There were oversized chairs where I sat and read a book and drank wine. It was close to mirador and nice to be close to the lobby. The unit was clean with nice decorations and furnishings. I spent a few hours by one of the pools which was so nice and relaxing. The walk to the gazebo was so relaxing and pretty. Taxi's are always available and affordable to red hook which is nice if you want to go to the ferry or head into red hook for dinner Overall, I cant wait to come back and will definitely request the same unit, B-16!
Beautiful resort with friendly staff, well-kept grounds, and two wonderful on-site restaurants to boot! We got in fairly early on a Saturday, got our rental car, and drove to the resort which wasn't too far from the airport (St. Thomas is small). Check-in was at 4, the guy at the gate was very clear in his directions on how to find the main office. We found it and were able to check in successfully. Then they sent someone to show us where the condo is and help us get our luggage inside. He was also filled with suggestions on places nearby and recommended a couple of activities within a 1-mile radius. We thanked him, tipped him and explored the resort. The place was clean although it could have used a general update in some parts of the condo. The huge sliding glass doors boosted a beautiful view of the ocean and the neighboring island St. Johns as well as other land formations surrounding St. Thomas. They were kind enough to leave a birthday card and a full-sized bottle of rum to welcome us. We didn't drink the rum but it was a nice gesture. The condo we stayed at were up the highest hill which could make for a challenging climb after meal times if you're dining at their on-site restaurants. You could always drive offsite to Red Hook, a town with restaurants and some night life that is conveniently located only about 5 minutes away. I loved the veranda view of the condo we stayed at. You can feel the cool breeze while you relax, take in the scenery and have something cool to sip on. A vacationers dream! There is a small kitchen, a nice living room with comfy furniture, and a queen bed. The biggest complaint I have is that the air conditioning unit is restricted to the living room which means the bedroom is the hottest room in the condo making it hard to sleep at night sometimes. They did provide fans but it's not quite the same. If you sat on the dining room table, you're freezing to death from the air conditioning but the bedroom you would be sweating. There wasn't a nice balance of airflow. But we made do. The resort has 3 pools. One is located up the hill, maybe 3 condos and down a flight of stairs away from where we stayed. Another was by the nature trail/near Ocean 180 and the third is right above the Sun and Sea Bar. There's no gym but trust me, just go up and down the hills a couple of times a day and you'd get your fill of cardio. Of course, if that is not your jam, they do offer a ride if you call the office but only during office hours. There are taxis they can help you get as well. We did not use either of these services so I can't speak to it as we had a rental car. There are free parking for those staying at the resort and they do issue you a parking pass. The staff were very courteous and friendly. I can't say enough good things about them. If we ever find ourselves back here again, I would not hesitate to book this resort. read more

The good and the not so good. Located on the east side of island. "Quiet" side. Must have jeep, drive on left hand side, REALLY steep twists and turns with blind corners, no shoulders and bumpy. ADA-nope. Stairs, 70% incline up and down. The two food options are wonderful. One is casual on water ...good bar food menu. Ocean 180! 5 star! went twice! Great cocktails and service! Food was excellent! Stairs again....need to mark yellow caution and add some railings. Bring a flashlight and fan (blackouts happen) Rain makes the hills slippery....night is treacherous, drive at your own risk. Take taxi and be ready ...they leave if ya not out on curb-expensive $125 for 4 people. No market on site. Moes grocery is best. (4x$ than US state side. No big beach. Small with rocks. Bring your own snorkel and fins. Close to Coki beach (drive or taxi). Security and gated. If u like view stay high, don't like heights ..stay lower end close to bottom condos. Just beware roosters roam free and are loud early in morning. read more

It has a nice wrap around balcony. This for me was the best feature of the apartment. You can just sit and relax on the balcony overlooking the ocean and the islands on the horizon. The apartment itself needs some love (ice maker was not working, curtains will not fully slide, time to change the mattress). These are small changes that the current owner needs to do. It would be helpful if the villa included some beach chairs, umbrellas and cooler so guests can take them to the beach. I think that would have been a good and inexpensive addition. Overall the villa serves its purpose and the views and the balcony are just fantastic. I guess you cannot have everything. read more
For the rates and the location, this place is absolutely wonderful. The staff was always friendly and inviting. The views are spectacular. It is hilly, but we had a car which made is WAY easier. I cant imagine staying here without a car however they do have someone who can take you all over so it's not the end of the world. But beware those roads are steep and tight if you DO have a car (and drive on the left!). Theres no right in front building parking but its close enough for a quick 1 minute walk to your room and plenty of spaces. There is a small private beach down some steps that was great for snorkeling - we saw a variety of fish and stingrays and plenty of coral. It is a bit rocky but had no problems lounging there or walking over them to get to the sandy areas. It does only have a few chairs but is isolated and comfortable plus you can walk over to the Sugar Bay resort beach which is completely secluded given that resort is closed and it takes about 2 minutes to get there from the PP beach through super shallow water. Plenty of places to each nearby including on the resort, close to Red Hook also to take the ferry to St John. Our room itself was nice and clean. It was a bit run down in some areas and we had bugs in our kitchen that got into our food as well. The toilet paper roll also fell out of the wall. These are all minor things though and not a vacation ruiner but they could use a little refresh but again, all depends on the unit. And if you dont like your unit and they're not full, call the desk and they can adjust you! I would note, make sure you know what room you are booking. Where the majority does have ocean views, some of those views might have an abandoned hotel, or a telephone pole or a sewer next to it. Some reviewers also mentioned the hills but if you didn't figure it out before booking its on a hill so not sure how thats a shocker to anyone. read more
My honey did good with this birthday present. Where to begin. Ok, I'm not a fan of islands because they don't have a lot of things to do. In such a off the ground adventurous chic, and it's hard to plan island trips in the air other than parasailing. Been there done that, a few times. Soooooo, babe booked a great villa for us and my birthday and they have so many things that I love. One, they great you with a lemonade that'll make ya mommma duck, so she doesn't get slapped. Hahhaha Oh, yeah the lemonade is spiked with the best fruit cruzan ever. Yesterday we had vla k cherry, today was mango, but LISTEN...you can't get that anywhere else because they make freshly squeezed lemonade and everyone else is fountain. Yuck! The staff is amazing and the customer service is impeccable. Jean, silent n ( jah) took really good care of is and he's proud of his staff, because of their outstanding customer service. The room is amazing. Fully equipped, wrap around balcony, full kitchen and dishes, comfy bed, boring bathroom, and awesome living room. Very cozy. Great place to eat on the balcony. ( we bought groceries at moes ) If you go eat off the shore, don't eat the sushi or nachos. Try a burger. Best sushi is at Raw. Lots of things are in redhook. Anyway, it's a great stay. Many beaches to check out. Having a ball. read more

I absolutely love staying at Point Pleasant, all of villas seem to have incredible views of the ocean, you can hear the waves from the first row, and the privacy can't be beat. Seriously, just spent a week in Maui, the landscaping was Disney level artificial, I could see 12 other balconies from mine, into at least a half a dozen of the villas, and the price was right at 3x. At PPR the landscaping is clean, but not artificial, the views are exceptional, the water is warmer than the Pacific, and from staying at multiple villas I don't ever recall being able to see into, or others being able to see into my villa. You get the feeling you're on your own little private villa away from everyone else. PPR is not "on a beach", but there is a great little beach at the end of a trail with a few lounge chairs which rarely has more than 2-4 people on it. And Coki, one of the better beaches and very good snorkel site, is a 5 or so minute walk. Point Pleasant my not be for everyone, but if you want privacy and a great selection of ocean view villas it's hard to beat. read more
Point Pleasant may be the name, but pleasant is an understatement! After being well past due for a vacation, let alone one to a tropical environment during a time when it was snowing back home (Ohio) I decided to stay here. Let me say this was the perfect place to pick! I did my research well in advance. Desiring the versatility of a condo for rent, this place fell perfectly in place with that. I searched for quite sometime prior to executing the reservations here to ensure it was the 'perfect' place. Upon showing up here I was mind blown when I walked into the lobby to check in (First picture is from the lobby, no filter either, enjoy)!! They were very friendly and even with my check in accompanied a mighty tasty adult beverage! After being told all the info and concluding the check the room/unit came next. I was not let down at all. The pictures on their website were very accurate and showed everything with great detail and truly how much room there was for my stay here. While the reason for my visit was more forgettable, my memories of Point Pleasant are NOT! The view day in and day out was breathe taking! Located onsite is the Mirador which I would recommend, and the Shoreline Grille. Neither of the two are disappointing in any way! Both well worth the visit and a walking distance away in the perfect climate! I had a lower unit E5 which did not disappoint me one bit. The view was to die for! Although part of the view was blocked by some foliage near the front but it was nothing to fret over. Point Pleasant is located on a hill which can make walking around quite the task, but the view makes up for it and the property overall is well worth it. The staff was very courteous and handled every question I had. The private beach onsite is nice. It is small but efficient and quite tranquil. Three pools for swimming and tanning are onsite as well. If you have done your research this wouldn't be a surprise, but when you have clear water like this who cares about a pool? One of them is located above Shoreline Grille as well. With the back drop of neighboring islands and St. John the view doesn't get justice from pictures. Not even close. All around this place did not disappoint. Upon my return to USVI - St. Thomas this Point Pleasant is on the list to get my reservation again. read more

The views are unbelievable-my husband and I never wanted to leave! We booked D35 via AirBnB and loved everything about our experience. The balcony overlooks the ocean and we could even sit in bed and see the amazing view. This resort is VERY hilly, so walking to and from restaurants and the lobby is not for the faint of heart. We loved the pool located at the top of the resort. It was quiet and private and had incredible views overlooking the island. This resort is essentially condos, so some rooms are booked via the owners, while others are booked directly through the resort. Our room could have used better cleaning (ceiling fans were disgustingly dusty) but honestly our experience overall was so great that it didn't matter much in the grand scheme of our vacation. Service was very friendly and timely. We rented a cooler from the resort several times for beach trips and loved that we could buy groceries and make meals in our room to save money on dining out. Overall, fantastic experience. We can't wait to come back! read more

I loved loved my stay in unit B-16! First off, when you arrive the front desk staff is so helpful and friendly. Dont turn away from the rum and lemonade, it was a perfect beginning! Since all units are independently owned, but managed by point pleasant it's easy to see how there are differing opinions of the units. B-16 was just perfect. It had all the kitchen you need, including a blender, toaster and coffee maker, and full dinner stuff. The balcony was perfect because there was a table you could sit at and watch the water where I watched the sun rise and watched turtles in the water. There were oversized chairs where I sat and read a book and drank wine. It was close to mirador and nice to be close to the lobby. The unit was clean with nice decorations and furnishings. I spent a few hours by one of the pools which was so nice and relaxing. The walk to the gazebo was so relaxing and pretty. Taxi's are always available and affordable to red hook which is nice if you want to go to the ferry or head into red hook for dinner Overall, I cant wait to come back and will definitely request the same unit, B-16! read more

Would not call this a resort or hotel - it is definitely condos with some amenities. Offered cleaning 3 times a week upon request, but we requested and our room never got cleaned. Best thing about this place is definitely the views - which were incredible. Our room was okay but every room is different. Pros: views, two restaurants nearby where good, pools were good, short walk to Coki beach, on the safari bus line, easy to park or get taxis Cons: long walks when the shuttle is down, most of the time uphill, not the cleanest or most updated rooms, spa and one pool were being repaired during our visit read more
We chose to stay at Point Pleasant for our first trip to St. Thomas because it seemed to have the highest ratings and luckily, we were pleased with our choice. We flew into St. Thomas and paid $15 per person to take a taxi from the airport to Point Pleasant, which was about a thirty minute drive. Thanks to a lengthy flight delay, we did not arrive at Point Pleasant until just after the main lobby closed but they called before closing to confirm that we were on our way and waited for us. Check-in was smooth and they gave me a free bottle of a delicious banana rum because they knew we were celebrating my birthday, which I thought was a really nice touch. We stayed in B-9, which had spectacular views from the private patio and even from inside including the bed. The unit itself is spacious with a living room, dining area, small fully functional kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. It was decorated with local flare that had a special kind of charm to it. The air conditioner, which is one of those wall units in the bedroom, runs by remote control but is on a timer that will automatically shut it off after 6 hours so we needed to keep resetting the timer to avoid losing the a/c. That was a bit annoying but considering how pricey electricity is on the island, I get why it is necessary. The bed was not the most comfortable but it wasn't terrible either. This is not a high-end, luxury resort but it's clean, rustic, and cute. Overall it was a comfortable stay with amazing views. The hotel is situated in a mountain so the trek from our room to the lobby involved A LOT of stair climbing. Luckily they have complimentary ride service between your room and the lobby and from the lobby to a number of places in the hotel's vicinity so a car isn't even necessary, which was a relief because remembering to drive on the left side of the street would have been a challenge for us. They have 2 pools, both with phenomenal ocean views and there is a restaurant on site next to the ocean with good food and service for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Kayaks and a paddle boat are available free of charge but there was so much to do that we never got around to using them. The hotel itself has two beaches. We only visited Sugar Beach because it was closest to our room but it was AMAZINGLY beautiful. The hotel set up three super cute and comfy beds with umbrellas that sit on the water's edge. We had the whole beach to ourselves for most of the morning and thoroughly enjoyed it. The snorkeling was pretty good there too with plenty of sea life to admire. The entire stay at Point Pleasant was truly pleasant and we certainly plan to return, hopefully sometime soon. My only complaint is that our unit was the top one and had a skylight right in the center of the ceiling, which was great for allowing natural light to flow in during the day but not so great when the sun peeked in and woke us up around 6 AM every morning. Next time, we will definitely request the ground floor unit just to avoid the skylight. The view might be slightly better from the top but being in the mountain, the bottom view is still good and we would get to sleep in a little longer than sunrise, which is really important to us. Overall, though, two big thumbs up for Point Pleasant! read more

We LOVED our stay at Point Pleasant Resort during our honeymoon. We stayed in unit B20 (for reference of the sunrise view). The restaurant on the resort had the best mahi tacos and mint mojitos I had ever had, the front desk was helpful with any questions or problems we had, the little private beach and pools were relaxing and a nice spot to hang if we had time in between activities, and the room was stunning. The decor throughout the room was perfect beach vibes. we hung out on the balcony almost every night, TV and internet were a nice additional amenity and we really appreciated having a full kitchen (that came with a cooler to take extra food/drinks to the beaches with us). Whenever we come back again, we will definitely be staying here again. read more

During a recent vacation, I had the great idea of island-hopping from Puerto Rico to St. Thomas, if only to stay there for 24 hours. About a 15 minute cab ride from the airport (unless you get stuck in after-school "rush hour" traffic from 3-4pm), I really didn't know what to expect when booking Point Pleasant. It seemed affordable and the photos on their website looked gorgeous. It didn't disappoint in real life. Seriously some of the most amazing views I've ever had in the Caribbean, we had a wrap-around deck on a top floor that looked east and north. Found Jack's Bight, the little bar /restaurant while going to Coki Beach (10 minute walk), and we were pretty much set. We snorkeled at the beach, swam in Water Bay, ate and drank at Jack's Bight, and left ALL the sliding glass doors open overnight (amazing cross breeze, no need for AC). The "room" we stayed in was actually a condo owned by, I'm assuming, a nice Midwestern family. There was a family photo up in the bedroom and they had left a sign in book so we could give feedback. It had a full kitchen, dining room, 1 bedroom, but with plenty of space (probably could have fit 4-5 people). Everything was clean and nice, and we just couldn't get past the views. Once you check in at the lobby, a truck with bench seating takes you to your room. All the staff were pleasant (no pun intended) and accommodating and everyone just seemed so relaxed and happy. We're already talking about taking a group back there, and for a full week. read more

Perfect! The most gorgeous views, just what the doctor ordered. A nice cafe built over the water, crystal clear turquoise waters. Comfortable 1 bedroom apartments with huge patio; can see the expansive, stunning views from everywhere in the condo. Friendly, helpful staff. Well-kept grounds. Three pools, all with stunning views. Free shuttle service to nearby destinations. Grocery & food delivery services available. Moe's gourmet grocery store is only 10 minute drive away (via that free shuttle service), best steak I've ever bought, great selection for a grocery on an island (expensive e, yes, but we are 1,000 miles south & east of mainland U.S.). Great restaurants close by: simply MUST try the new Sicilian restaurant Hosteria da Frasca in Ruphane, beautiful interior with exquisite cuisine! read more

Best view period!!! Stayed in unit B19 because I requested the best view possible since this vacation was my girlfriend's Christmas present. You'll probably need to rent a car to get around which is advised anyway. Great service and having a kitchen saves $&&. Just go to food center for food to cook. We would definitely stay here again. Don't let other reviews get to you that say this resort is hard to get around. It's easy to go up and down the resort and the view from Panga is also awesome. Great service as well. Don't stay anywhere else!!! read more

first i will say please be careful going up that narrow hill! upon booking my reservation which was extremely easy i wasn't informed about the 68.75 reservation fee. my stay was short. the first room hadn't been used in a while because the water was rusty! yes rusty, i was told to ket it run for a while until the tank can refill with new water. i had to move to another room which was moldy. moved again and that room was supposed to be cleaned but it wasn't. no fresh towels, bedding, soap still had hair on it etc etc. there was no window in b1 just storm shutters. the western in st. john was much better. completely upscale. read more

Let me start off by saying the views are phenomenal. The front desk and maintenance staff are very courteous, responsive and professional. I booked two rooms, B19 & B20. B19 was very nice, updated and clean. Beautiful view. B20 seemed to be managed by someone else. I was very disappointed. Had it not been for the view, hands down it would have been my worst hotel stay and vacation. Our room had ants or little mites everywhere. They constantly ran all over the counters, walls and bathroom.. Our stay was for six nights, we didn't have hot water until the 3rd night. One of the pillows was blood stained and had to be exchanged. Someone had smeared blood outside the door, I'm not sure why...maybe as a prank or a warning of what awaits you in the room.The refrigerator leaked down from the freezer and water pooled down below. It had to be cleaned each morning. There was no cable or stove as advertised.--B19 had both and was bug free and clean. The bed in B20 was barely, barely a step above an air mattress but squeaked worse than one. B20 has so much potential. If only the owners would put forth the effort to give it a little care, it would be absolutely perfect. It's sad that is not the case for this room. read more

Upon our afternoon arrival, we noticed that the interior of our unit was very outdated but the views were amazing as it was on the Top Floor. We left for the market. Upon our return, it was late and we were tired so the interior didn't bother us too much until we noticed the cockroaches. They were in numerous areas of the room. They had a "Raids" Spray under the kitchen sink so, I think they are aware of the issue. At this point, the lobby had already closed. The next morning, we asked to be moved to another unit but, were advised that they did not have anything available and were fully booked. We called Travel Agent directly and asked to refund some of our money so we can move to another hotel and they said that they would contact the hotel directly for a resolution. A few hours later, magically, the hotel had another unit available. So, we moved and while the kitchen was updated in that one, the bathroom was not. And, the ocean view we wanted was now partially blocked. Now, Housekeeping Services are ONLY by request on M-W-F. We requested and did NOT receive any service. Called front desk and said that they were going to at least send up towels. No one came. Next day, went to front desk to ask about housekeeping, again said that they would send up towels. No one ever came. Stayed 8 days and had the same towels & sheets the entire time. All in all, if you have certain expectations, basic sanitary needs, or is used to a certain level of service, this is NOT the place for you. read more

Beautiful resort. The photos on their web site doesn't do it justice. We stayed in B16 and the view was spectacular. Waking up every morning to the view was amazing. From the front desk service, shuttle service (Willie), Shore grill and bar (Scott and Alleyne), ground keepers, every one was helpful and they made our vacation the best we've had in a long time. read more

Arrived on Aug.22,2019 all of the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming including the female cab driver that brought us to our resort. She made it her business to point out specific points of interest in St.Thomas which was very helpful. Be prepared for a lot of walking up & down steps and slight inclines throughout the resort. Our room (B14) looked even better than the pictures provided mainly due to us having a corner room which gave us 2 sides of a balcony which my boyfriend & I loved. The pools, personal beach & the restaurants were all very good. If you have a more fancy palate lol Mirador is definitely the restaurant for you. The only downside we experienced was the power going out for about an 1& a half but we stayed on the balcony until the A/C and ceiling fans came back on. The breeze from being right above the water helped a lot. We definitely enjoyed ourselves. This resort is a great getaway especially if you live in a big city and just want a quiet peaceful break from the noise. read more
