Fantastic Resort! Couldn't ask for anything more!!! All-Inclusive, food, drinks, activities, music! A family owned for the past 40 years. I can't wait to go back!!! The food is amazing and you will NEVER leave hungry. The staff is family by the time you leave.

This is the day we arrived. The floor looked like someone had just showered and the walls are gross. Zoom in.

rooms are a step above a motel 6. showers are so small you can't wash your feet and haven't had a good scrub in years. everyone that works there is miserable. the service is so slow (even for carribean time) they act they doing you a favor serving you. especially at the bar. they have no excursions. they say they do and throughout the day they cancel them. they have one resturant and one bar that is open to the public who they seat and serve first. the front of the hotel is a main highway that you hear from your room. the back is a rocky beach that is about 3ft wide and you can barely get in. you have to pay to go outside the resort to see the actual beautiful carribean water. they don't rake the seaweed. just zero attention to detail. most days if you dont get a towel by 7:00 am. you'd have to wait hours for a clean one, but you can see the laundry baskets piled up all over with the dirty ones if you wanted one of those. one positive thing is the food once your actually served is not bad.

This place is an absolute shit hole. I got married May 2023. My brother sent my husband and I for our honeymoon. It is all lies!!!! Seaweed all over the beach thar stunk and had bugs everywhere. Switch and bait...paid all inclusive but didn't get it! Dirty, cracks everywhere on the building, stripper pole at front door with a stand for concierge but no one to help carry luggage up 2 flights! Water down drinks at the bar. Ordered lobster it was undercooked and cold! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! For the sorry ass people that said it is wonderful and great have no class so this dumb might be nice to a fool! Oh and the tape on the back of the safe door smdh..the air conditioner sounded like a loud landing plane all night. Shower so small you could not turn around. When I tell u stay the hell away from Bullshit Bay ok!

    Sunset from the restaurant

We recently completed a week long stay at this resort with the all-inclusive option. I should say we have stayed at some luxury resorts and this one is not that. However, it is a very nice resort in a decent location with plenty to keep you busy while you are there. The resort is divided up into 4-5 buildings that are next to each other in a row. The further out you are, the longer walk to the lobby and to the restaurant. Bolongo Bay is showing its age. Our room was on the second floor and had a balcony that faced the bay. I would say the view was very good. Using the balcony was a bit more difficult because the room air conditioner sticks out of the wall onto the balcony and is quite noisy. Our room looked to have been recently updated with fresh paint and a new floor. It was very nice and the bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was good, but could have used more hanging hooks for swimsuits, etc... The shower is quite small but usable. There is no place in the shower to put a bar of soap, etc...but there is one of those dispenser units with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner on the wall. The lobby is quite bare in my opinion, with a few chairs and an ATM. There usually was someone at the door to either open it or ask if there was anything you needed. Nearly all the employees were very friendly and helpful. The pool is nice, but a bit on the small side. If you like to lay out in the sun, better get there early for a chair as only one side of the pool has a "deck" for standing and for chairs. There is a swim up bar which was fun. The restaurant is essentially outside but covered and with open sides that can be "buttoned up" as necessary. Food ranged from fair to very good. As an all-inclusive you more or less have the same menu for every meal. We made a game of working our way through the menu. Service while we were there was hit and miss. Always friendly, but you had to wait at times longer than I thought was appropriate. Again, this wasn't every time we ate, just on and off while we were there. If we found something we really liked, we ordered it again (and again.). You are more or less stuck with the food at that restaurant as there really isn't another one within walking distance. There are ever present taxis waiting to take you anywhere on the island. The beach is a fairly small area, but we found it fine for our purposes. You can get paddle boards, kayaks, snorkling equipment for free on the beach. I snorkled and my wife kayaked. The beach was clean and the water was clear. Thinking about taking the kids? There were kids present while we were there, but I can't imagine there is much for them to do. Lots of adults in the pool holding beverages from the bar and carrying on conversations don't make for a very kid friendly environment. If they are old enough they can get equipment and enjoy swimming/playing in the bay. I would say the resort really isn't set up to cater to young children. Are there fancier places on the island to stay? Of course, but I think Bolongo Bay Resort is worth looking at and we had a fine time while we were there.

Well all I can say is what an amazing place. This was our 4th visit to Bolongo since 2016. We always have a great time. This resort makes you feel like family. It's like you never left. Same people working in the front office, bar, Resturaunt, housekeeping, and of course Keith the on-site resident manger. 007, Alex, Melinda working magic at the bar. We have never had an issue with anything. Kevin is amazing at finding the perfect table for you. FOOD is amazing and many great choices. All inclusive is the way to go. We absolutely love Bolongo. A great family run business and they are around to make sure you are enjoying yourself. Perfect place for a quick trip or extended stay. The views are amazing. The service is always great from EVERYONE. The live music is always great. You must take a sunset cruise and go swim with turtles!!

Anyone who gives this place less than 5 stars needs their head examined. Food was PHENOMENAL! We joked they had Bobby Flay locked up out back. We did our 10th anniversary vow renewal, and Jenny and the staff not only handled everything, but it was stress free for me. The personal attention you get here is amazing. If you are used to the Ritz...don't go here, you'll ruin the island vibe for the rest of us. It was clean, comfortable, friendly and perfect.

Place was great! We came here for our honeymoon. And had a great peaceful time. Food and drinks were great. Staff was very helpful and polite. Everything was clean, beach, pool and room. Only complaint I have is our shower was not clean before we got into the room upon arrival. Lots of old soap stuck to the shower walls. But other than that, everything was amazing I would stay again for sure

The rooms were clean and AC worked great. There is a laundry room available to use as well as a pool & hot tub for guests. It has its own beach front access & lounge chairs available to use free. Our favorite place was Rico's bar located next to the pool. He gave us the best recommendations and we had such a great time hanging at the bar with him. Definitely stop by for a drink at Rico's bar! Personally I wish it was located closer to the main road but we had a rental car so it wasn't a big deal. We stayed on the 3rd floor bldg Y. Our room had a fridge.

We were allowed to check in 2 hours early, so that was a plus. The lobby is small but has cold water, a small lounge, a bathroom and an ATM. But no concierge (front desk person: "I don't know where she is--I haven't seen her in a long time.")--so had to figure out everything ourselves. They had a concierge contact us from one of their sister properties but she never texted back when I asked about a time to connect. Only one restaurant was open on Sunday when we arrived so we were barely in time to order before they closed. The dive shop was supposed to be open but was not. Even though we were advertised a late check-out, we only got 30 more minutes so stored our bags and went into town as they did not have guest showers on property to be able to enjoy the beach after we checked out. The room was nice, clean, and spacious for a studio king. The kitchenette had a blender, toaster, coffeemaker, small fridge, and cups/plates/silverware etc. Bathroom had towels, shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, and lotion. Room had a safe. There was a dresser and end tables and a small table and chairs inside. On the balcony, there was a table and chairs and one chaise lounge chair. Each room has its own air conditioner. The property is built into a hill but relatively easily accessible (not ADA accessible but not crazy) despite the stairs. The grounds were well-maintained and the pool was a decent size and clean. At first I was not impressed with the beach because it was a bit rocky especially on one side and had lots of boats on the bay, but after touring four other properties on the island, I realized ours was the best we had seen. The lounge chairs are adequate and towels are provided both in your room and at the front desk. The shore is dotted with trees for natural shade if you want it. The water is clear but a bit rocky. The dive shop offers snorkels, boat rentals (kayaks, SUPs, and paddle boats), sand toys, sundries like sunscreen and tampons, and gear like hats and shirts and waterproof bags. They also offer snorkeling excursions departing from other nearby properties. Shout out to the attendant working the shop this week--he gave us great recommendations. No market or store on property--go into Red Hook (small nearby town) to the shops. Also, warning, you can't go to the glamorous property next door even to have lunch as they do not allow visitors on property. The two restaurants onsite were fine for our needs. One is pizza and sandwiches (Sangria's) and the other is more upscale (Caribbean Fish Market). But definitely recommend going into Red Hook to enjoy the local cuisine! I would recommend this hotel for a less expensive option than many competitors, especially if your party wants to go out and explore and do activities. The beach was the best we saw on the East End, and being close to Red Hook was a real plus. There are lots of options to take a boat road or the ferry to St. John and it's a pretty quick ride. If you want an immersive, pampered experience, this place isn't likely for you. But this is a good home base to enjoy all that USVI has to offer.

The resort is easy to get around, beautifully landscaped, and spotless -- from the rooms and grounds to the common areas. The staff couldn't have been nicer -- everyone we met was friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. Our room was right by the ocean and just steps from the private beach, which made it feel extra special. The infinity pool was large and never crowded, and the swim-up bar was a fun touch. There were always plenty of lounge chairs available, so we never had to rush out early to grab one. We also appreciated having access to the amenities at the sister property, The Westin, which added even more options during our stay. The bartenders at The Sandbar, Sean and Michael, really stood out -- super friendly, attentive, and just great to talk to. The food there was excellent (we especially loved the pizza and tacos), and the portions were just right. We also used the valet service, which was quick and very helpful with our luggage. Breakfast at Sugarfin was delicious, though a bit pricey -- the $25 French toast was hands-down the best I've ever had, and honestly, I'd order it again. The orange juice, bacon, and sausage were also excellent. We did run into a couple of small issues, but the staff handled them quickly and professionally. One thing to note -- the "king" beds are actually a bit narrower than a standard king (about six inches). Malika from Service Express explained that all rooms have this size to maximize space, and he was kind enough to offer a small resort credit for the inconvenience. We really appreciated how he handled it. The sunsets from the property were absolutely stunning -- some of the best we've ever seen. On our last night, we had dinner at Isla Blue, the fine dining restaurant on-site. Service was excellent, and most of the food was fantastic. I did have an issue with my filet that took a bit of follow-up to get resolved, but once upper management got involved, they handled it very professionally and made things right. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Buoy Haus. It's a beautiful, relaxing resort with a great atmosphere and amazing staff. We'd definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a laid-back, upscale getaway in St. Thomas.

When I told a server on our first day here the ceviche was big clumps of tuna with some mango pieces she just said ok. We waited 50 mins because our order was lost at the sea side BBQ restaurant. Balcony was never swept and bath gel was never delivered. It's a beautiful location with a lot of potential but i can't recommend this hotel as the service is absolutely non existent.

This boathouse also offers more high-tech water sports equipment for rent. For families There are adult bikes and children's bikes on the resort that are complementary. There are golf carts that take you from one area to another as everything is pretty spread out. For example, from the main gate to the hotel is a little less than a mile. Only two free breakfast are included with Marriott status. So if you are traveling with kids, you have to pay $22 plus tip for their breakfast every morning. They have a few sand toys to share out on the beach. The large pool area does have Shallow parts for children. For adults The beach here is gorgeous though setback many yards from the hotel. There is a small gym next to the spa and a larger gym called the wellness center which is about Half a mile from the main area. Food issues The main issue here as many other of viewers have stated is the lack of decent food selection. Sea grapes is decent but only open until 5 PM. Paro gets terrible reviews and is excessively overpriced Mediterranean food. However, an Uber from the hotel to Rio Grande is not expensive around $10 and they are good restaurants, but you must do your own research. I recommend Los kioskos de luquillo Which have many food options and it is basically a beach party scene better for adult adults than kids. Service and butler service overall were spotty. We were given incorrect information multiple times. Don't forget to take a ton of cash to tip-wish they would include this in the final bill. Loved the ocean view, comfy beds, and spacious bathroom. Overall a nice stay and would consider coming back if the food options improved a bit!
