Maybe I choose the wrong doctor when I came back to H.F.Cornerstone. Unless you want to be told exactly what to do like a child or an older person (who needs direction) do not see Dr. Barker. You cannot make most decisions for yourself as she will decide what you should do. Including discontinuing medication that I had been on for years and wanted to continue. She is arrogant, stern and did not work with me. Actually made a decision that I feel brought on a new condition. It's her way or no way. I miss Dr.'s LaRose, Fortune and Tess. I am a new patient and met Dr. Vavro today. When I say this was the best experience I've ever had, it's not an exaggeration. The kindness and compassion I was met with was absolutely outstanding. I felt heard and cared for which is a truly incredible feeling. I came here yesterday and usually the front desk staff is extremely rude. They were actually pretty pleasant! My only complaint about yesterday's visit is the wait time. I waited almost an hour to get called to the back. That being said, all the usual BS is worth it to see Dr.Kitakufe. She seems to actually care about any issues you may have. She takes the time and actually listens. I'm not sure if she is accepting new patients but if you're looking for a doctor that cares about you, see her! read more

I've always had good experiences at this doctor's office over the years. I think Dr. Bazzi is an excellent doctor. I've seen a few other doctors there as well (getting in on short notice and seeing whoever is available) and had good experiences with them as well. read more

WOW - what a terrible group of people. I had an appointment set for 3/14 @ 4:30pm. Naturally an unforeseen circumstance arose that was going to make me only a few minutes late for my appointment. So, me being the courteous patient I am, I called to give them a heads up. This is where things got weird. Mind you, I received confirmation that my appointment was, in fact, at 4:30pm. Upon calling the office, their phone system said that they closed at 4:00pm. Weird, right? Why would an office schedule an appointment for after they're supposedly closed? So, I thought it was a glitch. Checked Google and their official website, only to further back the closing time of 4pm. I chalked it up as a loss for the day and decided I would call them tomorrow (3/15). I called this morning (3/15) just to confirm that I did indeed have an appointment for the previous day and asked the lady who answered the phone to confirm the time. She again verified that it was for 4:30pm. I asked if I could reschedule it for the following Friday and was told I was blacklisted and would not be able to reschedule my appointment due to being a no-show and that I would have to find another endocrinologist. Wait, what? I am a newly diagnosed diabetic that is insulin dependent and am in serious need of an endocrinologist to help me with my health and I am being turned away because their phone system shuts off and says the offices are closed before they're actually closed? What a way to run a healthcare business! I highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. When speaking to the front desk employee and voicing my concerns, I then asked to speak with the Office Manager to try to clear this up. I was told to call back in an hour as she was currently conducting an interview. Sure, that is fine... However, the office shuts down for lunch during the time I was told to call back. How convenient. After reading reviews on Yelp and other feedback sites, maybe this is a blessing in disguise after all. Apparently, they are extremely difficult to work with and obviously do not care about their patients' health (I'm pretty sure there was an oath they swore for that, but I digress...). read more

My husband and I have been patients with this team for thirty years. Our three adult children continue to be patients here as well. We stay because of the excellent care we receive. Every practitioner we have seen throughout the decades treats us with dignity, respect, professionalism, and genuine care. When my doctor retired, I began seeing a new doctor to the team, Dr. Erin Vavro. She took on my complicated health care management with enthusiasm and a "we can do this" attitude. As a result, she greets me with a smile, a high five, and a "I knew you could do it!" following each new test result. Dr. Vavro has been my teammate, my coach, and my cheerleader throughout every step of my health journey. I am forever grateful! read more

They don't put patient care or service first and I'm changing my PCP as a result. I made an appointment because I've been in pain and needed attention. I had to wait over a week to get an appointment but it was not urgent enough for me to go to the ER so I waited. I left my insurance card at home inadvertently and could not provide it at the time of check in. The receptionist Was not at all pleasant or helpful To ensure that I was Able to keep my appointment and be seen. The priority for this office was whether or not I could pay for The appointment upfront. I offered to pay out of pocket if I could not get ahold of my healthcare provider or a photo of my card at home by the time my appointment was over. However I was never given the opportunity to pay instead they made me go through trying to get my card information and never checked me in for my appointment m, even though I was told that I was checked in. After 30 minutes had passed I was informed that doctor Barker could no longer see me because the next patient had come. If I were in fact checked in , this wouldn't have been a reason to deny my appointment. I have been coming to doctor Barker for about 2 years, never a great experience but this took the cake. I have always had good insurance and would have paid and billed my insurance for reimbursement if I had to. I do not like how I was treated. I reached out to management and shared this experience and there was no empathy or understanding. She was all matter of fact and didn't seem to care that I would be leaving this doctor's office. Patient care should come 1st. I have had similar experiences in other places because life is just busy with small children full time work and lots of things going on and we have found a way to make sure that everyone is taking care of . This office doesn't seem to care and I will go where my health is the priority and where people are more pleasant and helpful. I hope this review saves someone else the trouble. read more

Been looking for a Dr. that listens and cares. I finally found one! A big shout out for Dr. Cecelia Kitakufe, MD as she is a good listener, kind, and caring doctor. Roberta the nurse or nursing assistant was great, very kind and attentive too. The gal at the receptionist desk was not too friendly, I also had a hard time when I got to the lobby of the building to know exactly which suite but I do get distracted and impatient so it could be I missed some signs or notice of the right place. Very good and a blessing to meet Dr. Kitakufe and find a doctor that doesn't just want to hurry you out. I'm looking forward to being in her care. read more

I just started going to this office about a month ago. My doctor is Dr.Bazzy and he's a great doctor. I have 3 kids 4month old, 3 and 5 year old. I had to bring them all to my 1st appointment with him and he was sooo patient with me and the kids. He still interacted with my kids while talking with me. I think a doctor that is about his business and can still do his job while 3 kids are talking,crying or arguing is a wonderful doctor to me! Thanks for your patience Dr. Bazzy :) read more

Waited an hour in the waiting room before being seen for my new patient appointment although there is a sign in the office saying "if you've been waiting longer than 15 min please let a staff member know" then I waited an additional 46 minutes in the room. Dr Kitakufe is great but the staff in the office is rude, condescending, and acts like you know nothing. My husband then has his new patient appointment sept 4th and went to follow up to do his physical the 26th, apparently ascension is having issues with the insurance so somehow ours went inactive although we indeed do have insurance, I then got on the phone trying to explain that we do have insurance and that it was being situated with the Human Resources dept at the hospital I work at to just have my husband do his physical and bill the visit. They made him feel so uncomfortable rolling their eyes stating we haven't had insurance since 8/31/19 but had never mentioned this at the 3 prior visits we had in September. My husband actually got back to a room and the MA gave him a paper to sign and said he had to pay this 220 today and if we did in fact have insurance it would be reimbursed, he refused and walked out. I then try to call the office again to explain and the same lady who was rude to the both of us picked up and said "please hold" and put someone else on the phone. I explained the situation to the next lady although she said she already heard what was going on (my husband knew this because the entire front reception was making rude comments as he was sitting in the waiting room) and told her what the MA had said and the reasoning for my husband leaving she insisted she did not say that and that differently was said. Point being the office only cares about money, they lack compassion, and ability to have understanding of others comments/concerns which is really sad. Now my husband who had missed work for this appointment needs to have another visit to go over his lab work in regards to the abnormal lab values and the new medication dr bazzy started him on. Needless to say we will be finding a new doctor and office. Only come here if you want to deal with long wait times and super rude staff who has no care about others and this is coming from someone who also works in the medical profession. read more

I have been a patient here for many years - and I've never had to wait. Same day appointments and only a very few minutes in the waiting room. Caring, skilled doctors and staff who all listen and treat you personally and individually as someone who matters. I've recommended it to many friends, who are all just as happy as I am with the practice. read more

It seems like the PA did most of the work before the doctor came into the exam room. Then the doc repeats the same questions that the PA just asked.. Then the waiting for an additional half hour to 45 minutes to see a doctor. When you have a "scheduled" appointment and keep your end of the bargain, I think the doctors should do the same. You shouldn't be at a clinic for almost 2 hours. Time is something you don't get back. The doctor is just okay. The reason why I'm giving it 3 stars is because of the location.. read more

this by far is the worst drs office . Dr.Tess is extremely ignorant, she appears bothered or annoyed anytime I come into her office . She's very unprofessional and does not take the patients concerns into consideration, but instead makes it seem like you're bothering her & she has better things to do.
