    Cute fish on the wall.

A new takeout place opened beside Chatime, so indeed handy for the after meal drink. Plenty of parking in this plaza too. Upon entering the place today, we were warmly welcomed with a louder than usual greeting. The two main walls were nicely decorated with a fake grass wall and their cute fish logo. Not much seating available. July 30 day - buy 1 regular signature bowl and get one free. Yeah!! We got to try it which was nice since I think they have a Toronto location. We didn't have to line up long around 5 pm dinner time. My hubby got the Maui bowl with salmon and brown rice which he devoured it. I got the Ebi bowl with spicy cooked shrimp and lots of goodies. They ran out of kimchi so we got a substitute for mango pieces. I love mangoes!!! We were able to choose the garnish and the sauce on top. Mine didn't have a lot of sauce - that's how I like it!! My tummy was full after this meal. Yummy! Overall, a good experience and yes we will definitely be back. It would be cool if they had a loyalty program/point system to accumulate to free food.

I always love poke bowl. Supremely healthy with fresh fish, vegetables, toppings and different variety of the sauce. Very Delicious.

Was average nothing to complain about really ... Although there was the skin left on the salmon... not sure if this is normal

Made reservations for 2 and was quite surprised we got booth seating. Servers were friendly and…read moreservice was quick. We ordered the smashed and aloha burger as well as the fried chicken. Honestly wasn't the biggest fan of the fried chicken as I found it lackluster. I really enjoyed the aloha burger though. Chorizo burgers are definitely more unique and I really liked the flavor and the grilled pineapple (I will always argue in favour of pineapple on burgers and pizzas). We also ordered drinks and they were not watered down which I appreciate. Overall presentation was A+, great place for a casual date with the girls or your partner.

I decided to get a Blue Hawaii cocktail, which was beautifully presented to me. My friends also enjoyed their cocktails, and the time to wait for a table went by fairly quickly. We decided to share an order of their vegetarian baos, which were pretty good and surprisingly hearty. We asp shared an order of their tempura corn fritters, which were also hearty and tasty. I decided to get their jackfruit fried rice, which was unfortunately pretty lackluster. I felt like it needed something, perhaps more salt or soy sauce. Other than that, we had a lovely meal here and the restaurant itself was beautiful. A fun place to go out to if you happen to be in Toronto.

This is one of the GTA's only permanent Hawaiian places which doesn't just serve poke. Membership…read moreis free & member specials are quite aggressive. They have white & brown rice options. Chimichurri steak was pretty tasty. It was cooked to medium. Loco moco was pretty good though slightly overcooked. Sides & rice were quite plain. Pork adobo plate lunch (lunch portion): pork was tasty: sweet, sour & salty with some fat. Some sauce dripped down & flavoured the rice. There was seaweed on the rice which gave it an umami boost. Lemonade had a nice texture from the basil seeds & a passionfruit accent besides the lemon. Spam musubi was good. The rice was slightly sweet & sour with added flavour from the furikake. There was a good balance of spam & rice & quite a bit of seaweed. Huli Huli chicken plate was tasty with moist chicken & a hint of chili. There was a good sweet, savoury & sour balance. The slaw had a zesty crisp & an intriguing flavour note.  Butter mochi was very good: rich, chewy & slight crisp at the edges with a nice coconut topping.

Pokito is a Hawaiian restaurant/take out joint located along Queen St. W. near Spadina Ave (close…read moreto Cameron St.). They've been a staple for poke in the area for years, however, their menu has expanded to include more Hawaiian foods like plate lunches and snacks (like onigiri and spam musubi). I recently stopped by Pokito to pick up take out for dinner as I had stumbled upon a $10 coupon from the restaurant over Facebook. Upon entering, the space is inviting and warm, with wooden accents throughout the space. There are several tables if you'd like to dine in. The menu is large and they also have daily deals as well. In the small fridge display they have a sample of their poke on display along with other items like onigiri, desserts, and drinks. Their poke bowls are likely the most popular items to be ordered but definitely don't skip out on the plate lunches as well! I opted to grab a garlic shrimp scampi plate lunch (tail-on shrimp sauteed in buttery garlic sauce on rice (can choose between white or brown rice) with mac salad and a salad slaw) for $22.50. I did have $10 off my order which was great. If you sign up for their rewards program you also get other deals as well (the next deal I get is 50% off a plate lunch for a limited time!). My order was made fresh which took about 5-10 min. I didn't mind as I just sat down to wait. Service was friendly and efficient. I had my garlic shrimp scampi plate lunch for dinner. Beware that the shrimp is really garlicy and delicious! Just be careful if you need to talk to someone afterwards because they will smell it. The rice absorbed some of that garlic flavour which made the rice even better. The mac salad was great and the salad slaw helped to cut through everything as well. Portions were large and I was full afterwards. Overall, a great place for Hawaiian plate lunches (and I'm sure poke as well!) in the Queen/Spadina area. Definitely will return to try more of their plate lunches as well as poke.
