The owners Steve & Sherri make us all feel so comfortable, genuinely sweet people who work hard at keeping the place up. This summer my mother & I decided to take my 90yr old grandmother, who is wheelchair bound, away for a mini- vacation. From the moment we arrived, I was blown away at how handicap accessible Steve & Sherri had made our cabin (12 A&B). Steve came right outside, got wheelchair chair ramps for us, had already put up handicap handles in the shower and on the toilet. Each cabin I've been in, is always so clean. So neat. This place was SOO convenient to everything around, several restaurants, shops and bars are in walking distance. The dock area is really nice and everyone seemed laid back, although there were kids running around, they didn't bother us. They provided a paddle boat, a row boat, a canoe and several tubes for us, which was really nice. The main building has an ice machine and free coffee. Only briefly interacted with the owner Steve, but everything went smoothly. The house itself was perfect for the two of us, the bed was comfy and the AC was strong enough.

We stayed in the Robin's Nest cabin, which was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The wood stove was fabulous and kept us warm in the chilly but mild fall evenings, and I'm sure it would put out plenty of heat for a winter stay as well. We were the only guests on the property, so it was QUIET and so, so serene. I'm sure if other guests were there it would still be both of those things. The cabins and yurts are spread out and hidden in the woods, so privacy is always possible. There was a yoga class on Saturday morning that we missed (we decided to sleep in, too cozy), but I'd love to try that when we return. And we couldn't return too soon. The caretaker Erica had just arrived to take over for the winter, and she was so gracious and friendly. She left us sweet notes and made every effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible. On Saturday we got to use the sauna. The SAUNA. Oh lord, if this lifetime gives me one gift let it be a sauna like that one. Erica went early to get the fire going and we were welcomed to the most beautiful sanctuary with plenty of fresh water for drinking and bathing, some snacks, and flickering candles. We spent a couple of hours moving back and forth from the steamy cedar benches to the woods outside on a rainy evening. It was heaven. Molly the resident cat came and hung out with us several times. She was so sweet and funny, and very polite. If you want her to leave just show her the door and she'll waddle happily down the path. We were sad to leave on Sunday but also so grateful for the time we had together in the Maine woods, and grateful to have found this wonderful spot. A couple of small things...see 5 stars above, these are minor issues, but could be useful to future guests: The grounds are perched onto the side of a mountain, and some of the buildings are separated by steep paths. This means that this place would not be a good option for people who have serious physical limitations (with exceptions). While the website does mention things like "a short climb by foot" it could be more clear about how rugged the site is. For people who live and work there these climbs are a piece of cake, but for others it might be a real challenge. For instance, the Harmony cabin is right next to the yoga studio and group space, so that would be ideal for those looking for accessibility. But if you wanted to take a shower, it's a *steep* hike up to the Pioneer cabin where the showers are. Just something to keep in mind if you or someone in your party might need accommodations. Also, one comfortable reading chair in the cabin would be a big bonus, especially for longer stays. The rocking chair in the cabin is TINY, neither my husband or I could sit in it comfortably. Overall, Nurture though Nature is a wonderful place and you will feel blessed to spend some time there. We can't wait to return!

In retrospect, I would have missed a treat had we not stayed at the Brewster House Bed & Breakfast on Main Street in Freeport, Maine. Owned and run by Kelleigh and Dave, the latter is a trained chef, and the former is a consummate professional in caring for their customers. We also had the pleasure of meeting one of their children and heard a couple of hilarious stories about some oil changing mishaps. Turns out, the breakfast part of the B&B is my element. Instead of one long table, which some B&Bs provide, Brewster House offers smaller tables for two or in our case, tables together to accommodate three guests. We were all seated in one room, a dark blue-walled space with white antique dishes and a moose head as decoration, close enough to talk, yet separated enough to have private conversations. All of us guests chatted and laughed and shared stories as Kelleigh deftly served and described each day's three courses. Dave occasionally looked out, but seemingly a bit shy for compliments stayed in his kingdom of that wonderful kitchen. Here's to Dave who shared some of his culinary acumen in the forms of shirred eggs with fresh greens, firm peaches donned with whipped topping, blueberry-kissed French toast, and so very moist waffles with dreamy homemade syrup. The bath towels were of good, heavy quality, which is important to me and the lotions and soap with little images of a Maine village were nice touches. Being from Florida, we weren't certain if we were dreaming at night when air conditioning was not needed. The property is several decades old and one can hear that when ascending and descending stairs, but they were sturdy so that's all that really matters. I sat on the multi-colored rockers on the porch at the side a time or two and absorbed the peace that I felt at Brewster House. I may never visit Maine again, but Brewster House Bed & Breakfast is etched into my memory as one of my favorite things about my first visit to Freeport, Portland and surrounding quaint towns in Maine. If you ever plan on visiting the area, give this historic location a try.

The bed was very comfortable. We were able to open the large bedroom window and feel the lovely cool Maine air. The adjacent shared bathroom was large and so luxurious with its double sinks. The home is beautifully decorated with a variety of antiques and special touches.The library and sitting room common areas seemed both stately and comfortable at the same time. The entire home was clean and inviting. A scrumptious homemade breakfast was the icing on the cake! Wonderful. The wraparound porch is large and the garden area and is calming and serene. The flowers around the home are magnificent. There is also a raised screened in porch area off the kitchen to relax in. The home is close to Sebago lake and the New Hampshire border and you can easily walk to the center of town to do some antique shopping or eat at Krista's restaurant. We very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the Perkins House and plan to return. 4.75 stars.

We just came back from a big family weekend there. We had 5 sites with 19 people (including…read morechildren). This is by far the most rundown campground I've stayed! Only 1 bathroom facility was functioning. Of the 3 times I tried taking a shower, I only succeeded 1 time. The other 2 times (once at night and once the following morning at 6am) I only got drops coming out of the hot and cold faucets. I tried the only 2 stalls. Speaking of bathrooms...these have not been updated since the 60s-early 70s when I was camping with the same style bathroom facilities. The children's playground should be condemned!!! At least 25% of the wood is rotted. Some steps are missing from ladders. My granddaughter was swinging in the childs swing, the bottom unlatched and she fell through the bottom. If she wasn't monkey like in holding on she would have done a face plant to the ground. After looking at the swing, I found the plastic latch broken! 2 positives: the campsites are very nice! and the beach is great! Bottom line, these owners are not putting any money back into the campground and it's facilities. They are running it into the ground. I won't be coming back again!

The owners Leila and Anthony are truly the kindest and most hospitable people I have ever met. From the second we walked into the Inn it truly felt like we were right at home. The Inn itself is beautiful, quaint, charming and very clean. Our room was super cozy and the bed was SO comfortable (I will definitely miss it). The water pressure in the shower was great, which is hard to come by sometimes. The grounds are manicured and so comfortable. I spent hours on the hammock and in the rocking chairs reading and relaxing. What really blew me away was the breakfast and the treats. Anthony preps all the food and is a breakfast and pastries GENIUS. First night we were there they had snickerdoodle whoopee pies with a maple cream cheese filling (individually wrapped to be extra safe and clean) and I may or may not have taken a couple more with me to enjoy later in the evening... The location of the Inn is PERFECT. You are walking distance to Long Lake and a few little shops and minutes away from Lake Sebago. A friend and I were attending a wedding close by and booked a two twin bed room on hotels .com. We…read morearrived and were checked in, went to the room, only to discover it was one full bed. We went back down to the desk to discuss the mistake, and which time they informed us they cut their contract with hotels.com because they kept booking people in rooms not matching accommodations, and they don't even have any rooms with 2 beds (or none available, unclear.). In order for us to stay, we had to book another room that was not ready sight unseen. We were told we would need to speak to hotels.com for a refund. We attempted to get a partial refund from hotels.com and were informed that the hotel said we accepted alternative accommodations. Inn staff also reported they gave us the second room for free, which is also untrue. They refuse to make it right. The rooms were small, the hallway smelled of vomit when we went back to our rooms that night, and the second rooms ac did not work properly. Beware and avoid staying here if you are a group or family unless you'd like to squeeze into tiny rooms and get 0 customer service for a mistake on the Inns end. The worst hospitality experience I've ever had, coming from someone who has worked in and frequented MUCH nicer accommodations. Edit to add: check their reviews outside of google. That is the only place people rave about them, which is super fishy. Update to Anthony: Every part of your response was untrue. That's a shame you feel the need to continue to lie. There were no multiple visitors to our room, we didn't tell you to charge the card you told us you would because you wouldn't fix the error as it was a hotels.com issue, you never mentioned the cooling issue, etc etc etc. if you had been willing to comp the second room (we shouldn't need to tell you we needed two beds, that's what we booked for.) and had not continually lied to hotels.com, this review wouldn't be here.

If you are seeking peace and quiet, I would look for other options. But the water in the lake was relatively warm (ideal for swimming compared to the frigid waters of Maine's coastline). Also, the water was very clear and clean. One interesting note is that Sebago Lake provides the water supply for the entire city of Portland, ME. The tap water there had a delicious, clean taste from the fresh water of Sebago Lake.
