I decided to go with the 60 min Spa Massage for my first visit which is a massage that also includes a seaweed and matcha green tea mask with essential oils on the back which sounded delightful and it truly was ! Her policy is to pay for your first session ahead of time so she will send an invoice to you to pay..I know some people probably wouldn't like that but I can see why she does it, people can make an appointment randomly and then not show up and then you just wasted the therapist's time and they lost income they were expecting to make when you no show and don't give notice. She also gives you a 10% discount when you pay that invoice for your first service, so that's a nice incentive to pay ahead of time. I arrived a bit late unfortunately and I had paperwork to fill out since it was my first time in so my massage had to get cut a bit short but honestly, I didn't feel like she rushed through it or anything. She also did amazing working out knots in my neck, shoulders and arms while also making it as relaxing as possible for me as I'm not someone who likes to feel like I was hit by a train when I go to get a massage. She incorporated a little gua sha (gua sha is like a scraping technique with a tool), which is something I've never had done before, and it did wonders on my body. She was so kind and even gave me a gift at the end, which was a bottle of lemon scented bath salts, which I look forward to using. This is my year for radical self care. I made a promise to myself - a commitment to prioritize my wellbeing. After endless days of putting others first, I take the leap and schedule in these much needed appointments for me time and as I hit 'confirm', a waive of anticipation washes over me, knowing that soon I'll indulge in moments solely dedicated to my rejuvenation. As soon as i got in, Carissa had me fill out a few forms and was ready without any appointment. She started out with lightly massaging my back, and the first thing she said was, "wow you have a lot of knots". This made me feel like she knew what she was doing and knew what to look for. She felt my back out for any tense areas and wanted to make sure to relax my body before going in with the deep tissue massage. She even went further explaining to me if your muscle isnt relaxed when getting a deep tissue, it can hurt me. So this alone i knew was a legit place. She explained everything she was doing and even provided me a reason behind all of it. During the deep tissue, she made sure it was a good enough pressure and immediately knew if it was too hard based on my body's reaction. She was very aware and considerate the whole way. Great place to come and get a legitimate massage. Nothing sketch just relief and you can walk away knot free.
