Today I contacted an officer at the PV Ocean Blue carwash that was vacuuming her radio car. As I approached she smiled and faced me. I thanked her for her service and extended my hand. We shook hands and I wished her a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year. Her uniform and appearance was impeccable and she was a credit to the profession. Thanks to ADOT closing down I-10 and diverting ALL traffic off of the interstate and into the lovely metropolis that is Avondale/Tolleson, there was a major traffic issue all throughout this area. It took over 1 hour to get from Fairway drive to 75th avenue. Completely unacceptable. At the Van Buren & 99th intersection, I witnessed the following: Wrong way driving by multiple drivers The intersection was blocked by multiple cars, semi trucks, and even vehicle transport trucks. Wreckless driving by multiple people Multiple near collisions Sure enough there ended up being a minor fender bender in the far right lane. No visible damage to the vehicle and the drivers were not visibly injured. Here come the Avondale police...about 4 cars driving through the blocked and backed up intersection and also wrong way driving to get to this fender bender. Nothing was done about the clearly visible traffic issue. Not one driver was stopped, cited, or given a warning for wrong way driving or blocking a major intersection. This was outright unbelievable. Where I'm from, there are cities that will cite you $500+ for blocking intersections. This was unbelievable. They just ignored all these issues that were clearly visible and causing unsafe roads!

Considering the minority and research on domestic abuse, y'all failed. Last weekend, a woman needed your help, if not just getting her medication for her Crohn's disease and anxiety to ease physical pain. You looked at her and thought because she didn't have clear skin and had dentures at a young age, that she was a substance abuse user. That is far from the truth. Not everyone is blessed with clear complexion and a genetically kind set of teeth. In fact, when anxiety and stress are increased, behaviors like picking at skin become more prevalent as a coping technique. The direct duress she has been under while living at that trailer with that man was on speakable. With actual videos recorded of the abuse, nothing was done for the victim, my friend. The police were all in favor for the male, the perpetrator. Also, her anxiety was so immense that she wasn't able to hold down food, which would then make having her dentures a choking hazard. A few years ago she was able to get a surgery to replace her teeth..not that you deserve a justification. Her teeth were some thing she was mortified about before the surgery and so proud when she was able to get them done. Covid happened and she lost her job. You judged maliciously and passive aggressively. The comments said to my friend from the officer the second time he came back to talk with her were unprofessional and straight up victim shaming. Think about the research that proves domestic violence is predominantly males and y'all wouldn't take the proper precautions to even make sure she was at the hotel (you forced her to go to with nothing but the clothes on her back) without the perpetrator following, driving drunk, without a license and insurance, to the motel she was supposed to hide at until my friend and I could get her Sunday. You did nothing to help her, at the least, the barest of bare minimum. I hope your sisters, daughters or mothers never experience domestic violence because they'll be severely affected or dead, if you're in charge. Think about the women who actually need your help, despite their looks... stress and poverty reflect on physical appearance as well as biopsychosocial. That sociopath was grooming yall and you let him. You have lost touch with humanity and need to consider the entire situation next time. Be safe but do better as humans and protectors.

My experiences with the Goodyear Police Department have been extremely disappointing, but this most…read morerecent situation has significantly changed my confidence in the department and its commitment to serving and protecting the community. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. On a previous occasion, I contacted Goodyear PD after an injunction against harassment was violated, and I felt that no meaningful action was taken. In another incident, I was threatened at a Walmart while my children were present by an individual who had a firearm. Again, I contacted Goodyear PD and was extremely disappointed with the response and lack of action. Most recently, I was assaulted by four individuals at a Wells Fargo Bank. There was video footage of the incident, including evidence showing another individual putting their hands on me, yet once again, I feel that the situation was not handled appropriately and no meaningful action was taken. What has made this experience even more frustrating is the lack of communication and follow-up. I attempted to contact Officer Kane, who was involved with the case, to request an update and ask questions. I also reached out to his sergeant. I have left voicemails and communicated with other staff members in an effort to receive a response. It has now been approximately three weeks, and I have yet to receive a return call. As a member of this community and as a victim seeking assistance, I should not have to repeatedly call and leave messages simply to receive basic communication regarding my case. When residents contact law enforcement--especially regarding harassment, threats involving a weapon, or physical assault--they should be able to trust that their concerns will be taken seriously, properly investigated, and followed up on. At this point, my repeated experiences have caused me to lose a significant amount of confidence in the Goodyear Police Department. I believe there needs to be greater accountability, improved communication with victims, and additional training to ensure officers are properly responding to and investigating serious incidents. Law enforcement carries an enormous responsibility to the community. When that responsibility is not fulfilled, there should be accountability and a process for addressing those failures. Residents should be able to rely on their police department when they need protection and assistance, and unfortunately, my experiences have left me feeling that calling Goodyear PD for help is ineffective.

The thief was caught on camera & they even had a close up of his face. They phoned in the investigation and the thief was never caught. Case closed. "Sorry" is what I got from the detective. I have awful neighbors. One neighbor had 4 dogs that would bark hysterically outside 24 hours a day & night, non-stop. Speaking to my neighbor did nothing. So for 3 years I called the police & they did nothing too. Thank God he moved. One officer called me after one call, "I hear the dogs barking, your neighbors are home but they are not answering the door so I can't do anything." Such a great effort. For 5 years I've called the police about a neighbor who consistently does handy work on his front drive way at late hours 10pm to 4am. You'll hear power washer, drills, saws, generator, etc The police always pull up, roll down the window & tell him to stop. Soon as they leave my asshole neighbor starts his power tools again. Like what's the point? They don't give out tickets for disturbing the peace? They only give out tickets for speeding vehicles.
