Do you think you're in NY? Aren't your cc fees included in your high prices? I've been going to Polished for about a year now for manicures, pedicures and lashes. The atmosphere inside is professional and relaxing - and everything is kept clean extremely sanitary. When I go to a salon, I expect that the service professional is paying attention to me and what the service they're providing and not chatting it up with another co-worker and trying to up-sell me or rush thru the job to get to another customer. When I book an appt here, I know that I'll get the attention and service I'm paying for. I'm sure it's not the least expensive place in town - but when you want top-notch, professional service you have to realize that it costs more to hire the best. And that's absolutely worth it to me. My two go-to Nail Techs are Rose and Nyah - and they both do amazing jobs! I typically get a structured manicure (to give my nails extra strength) and gel polish. I've never had any issues with chipping or breaking. Their Signature Pedicure is awesome, too. The Nail Tech there, Jessica, does an outstanding job, I get the Classic lashes and I love them. (I'm in my 50's and blonde, fair skin - and the lashes help me look more "awake" and polished.). I've received many compliments on them and it really makes me feel good to know that they look good/appropriate on me. (I think the fuller, longer lashes probably look great on younger women - but the Classic Lashes are a perfect look for me.) No complaints about Polished. I got in last minute for a pedicure with Mia (thanks to the salon being open on Sundays now)! The service was excellent. I loved that she was professional, asked along the way if I was satisfied with how everything looked, and made sure that it was a relaxing experience for me. Pricy for what the end product was. It was a good pedicure and the whole place was very clean and tidy and I liked the set up. But it did kind of feel cliquey in a high school everybody already knows each other type of way, so I was a bit anxious at first. The facility was beautiful, very well decorated and a nice variety of nail colors, but I had a couple concerns. I came in for a express pedicure and it was my first time there I was directed on where to sit but not with any instructions I put my feet in and had extremely hot water, I waited for my pedicurist to come by and tell her it was too hot. When she returned after ten minutes the water was still boiling, I though it would just cool down so I put my feet in and decided to suck it up, but even 5 hours after my appointment my legs, from mid calf down, still have a pinker tint then the rest of my body. The pedicurist never asked about the water temperature or if it was ok. My next concern was leaving, after she was done with the pedicure she went to sit down at a manicure table with a can of soda and I was left wondering if I should leave or if she was done, she never told me she was finished, she just walked away and never returned. so eventually after ten minutes Of waiting I got up and left. The other pedicurist/nail artist were very friendly to their customers, offered them drinks and constantly asked if they were ok and I would recommend them but I would not recommend my specific person. read more

I have been getting Xtreme eyelashes at a dedicated lash bar in San Francisco regularly for the past 2 years. However, after a temporary move back to WI, I had a difficult time finding a place that had certified Xtreme lash stylists. So I scoured the Xtreme lash website and called/emailed all of the service providers on the list in both southern WI and northern Chicago. When I came across Polished Beauty Bar, I was immediately impressed by their website and the photos of the salon. I called to inquire about pricing etc. and the woman I spoke to was friendly and seemed knowledgeable about Xtreme lashes. So I decided to make an appointment. My appointment was with Jessica on 6/29 for a full set of Xtreme lashes. All I can say is WOW! Not only did the lashes look stunning the day she applied them, but 1-week later my lashes still look flawless. Jessica has a true talent for lashes. I never thought I'd be able to find someone in WI that made my lashes look as good as the lash bar in SF but in all honesty, Jessica actually did a better job. I'm absolutely blown away and will continue seeing her for lashes while I'm in WI. She's amazing! read more

I haven't had a full set of nails in a LONG time. We are talking 12/13 years. So I decided to find a good clean place. Which this place was. However, why it is 2 stars is due to quality. I had a scheduled appointment and the girl was late to work by 15 minutes. I was her first appointment. They also they tell you "no rush" but she was clearly rushing because she was afraid to be behind. My nails look crooked and uneven. They also look like triangles with how she shaped them. They literally flare out. I didn't realize it until I got home. The paint job is terrible and sloppy as well and I paid extra for designs. I was told by a worker she's the best there. However if this is the best, I would hate to see what everyone else's work looks like. I WAS a new customer and that's the last time I will go. I was looking forward to getting my nails done again frequently, now on the search for some Place else. read more

I made an online appointment for 9 am. I received a Confirmation text from them confirming my 9am appointment with Emily. When I got there at 8:45, I was told "Sorry, we don't have an appointment for you" and turned me away. How in the world can they take an online appointment, send me a confirmation of the appointment and then tell me there isn't anything on their schedule for me? It's a very beautiful place, done in silver, grays and sparkling chandeliers. I had high expectations when I walked in, unfortunately they weren't met. Was led to the manicure area and said I'm here for a pedicure . She checks, oops yep it's a pedi. No biggie, little mistakes happen. She had me sit back down while she filled the foot basin with water . I pick my color and we are ready to start . She casually stated the water "might be hot". Um yeah, but I gradually got used to it. As she was doing my cuticles, she cut me. "Oh, I nipped you. ". She put something on it ,what I have no clue. Then she wrapped my legs in warm towels. Did I say warm? More like scorching smoking with steam hot, so hot my legs were burned. She asked if it was ok, I said it was very warm. She took it off, then proceeded to polish my toes with my sandals on. I was so worried about her getting polish on them, but she insisted, saying that it would be too difficult otherwise. I have NEVER IN MY LIFE had my toes painted while wearing my shoes! She sprayed a liquid on them to "dry them quicker",and that was that. My toe is already smudged. It was a completely horrible experience . I will never go back. read more

Really nice nail salon that is clean clean clean!! Often hard to find a nail salon that opens up new files and buffing sponge etc just for you and gives them to you to take home when you're done. My mom, sister-in-law, and I were in town for my brother's wedding this past weekend and wanted to get our nails done. After researching salons around the Racine area, I settled on Polished Beauty Bar. We planned ahead and booked an appointment over the phone a few weeks ahead. When we walked in, I was blown away by how beautiful the space was and how clean it looked and smelled! No nasty chemicals here. The pictures don't lie! I got a shellac manicure on Friday The lady had me in and out of there in 10 min tops. Sat afternoon the polish was already coming off on my left pointer finger. I called and was told to come in and they would fix it So I went in. SUN morning the polish was now coming off the right pointer finger. I was annoyed at this point. I called and was told by the man on the phone to come in again to have that one fixed. I asked if they were going to somehow compensate me for having to drive there now A 3rd time. This is my time and gas money. He said I will talk to the manager. So I go in and the only man in the place(the one I spoke on the phone with)fixed this nail and says ok you can go now it's fixed. I was like so what is the compensation for all my trouble? He replies "you get discount next time". I replied can I get this in writing? He replies" no I remember I am the mamager" Odd he was the one on the phone who needed to talk to a manager So I said what kind of discount? He replies 10% That is just unacceptable to me. A measley $2.50 after all this. Need less to say I won't go back. They can keep their $2.50 Bad business read more

I booked appointments for myself and a few members of my bridal party for nail services the day before my wedding (I was the bride). I made these appointments in January for my October wedding. All of the other ladies with appointments were seated and services started on time except for me. My service technician was late by 30 minutes, and mind you I have a rehearsal to get to that afternoon. Absolutely unacceptable for someone to be 30 minutes late when I'm paying top dollar for services. Someone in my group had to speak up to the staff to have them stop their service to start my services as the bride. Unacceptable that someone had to start and stop their service because the salon cannot manage their staff. The salon manager was extremely rude and confrontational, offering nothing but an apology even though this is the day before my wedding and I left 30 minutes late, rushing for my next wedding related appointment. On top of that, one of the staff members decided to intrude in the conversation with the manager and started screaming at us that she's pregnant and doesn't want to deal with us. Unacceptable and unprofessional behavior. Above all, I asked for the owner to contact me to discuss this awful experience. It's been 2.5 weeks and I still haven't heard from her. This place is not cheap to begin with, but they lovingly add a $5 Covid PPE fee to all customers even though we come in wearing our own PPE in the midst of a pandemic and accommodating state orders. I will never return to this salon and I was a loyal customer for a few years. It's a honest shame that this salon has gone down the tubes. I would not recommend anybody to go here especially any brides looking to celebrate with their bridal party before their wedding. read more

Hands down such a great place. It's super clean, the nail techs are so friendly, and a great place to relax for an hour amidst a busy work week. Stephanie (my fave), Selena, Simona...all the girls are great. Tried the salon out on a whim and kept on going back. Introduced my mom and sister to polished and they love it as well! Also great policy if nail polish chips within a week of getting manicured (for no-chip that is). Seriously can not recommend this place enough! Fabulous setting, great service. Love this place! I have had several manicures and pedicures, all very enjoyable.

I made an appointment online for a full acrylic set. Their online booking system assigned the nail technician to me. When I got there, I had to wait almost 30 minutes because one of their employees had called in sick. After I sat down at the nail station to start, the nail technician says "I don't do acrylic nails. I only do gel nails." Then why did their online booking system assign her to do my acrylic nails!?! I felt like she was rushed and was trying to get done with me so she could get on with her next appointment. She didn't do anything to clean up my cuticles like I have had done in other nail salons. On some nails, the gel didn't go all the way to the ends of my nail bed so there were noticeable spots missing gel on the sides of my nail. She didn't do a good job of cleaning up under the nail so I had really sharp edges on almost all my nails. I was very disappointed with the service and look of my nails. :-( read more

I have gone to Polished beauty bar on a recurring appointments( every two weeks) since November 2017. I set up my bridal party appointment very early, (January 2018). This appointment was on May 11,2018 and included 8 people, 7 manicures and 7 pedicures. This appointment was set up by an old employee who recently left. Upon her absence, I was contacted by the owner to ask if I was still planning on coming to Polished since my nail tech was gone. I indicated I was still planning on coming since I have has it booked for a long time. I spoke that time time to confirm which was Mid April. I spoke again to two employees the week of. The first time to confirm that appointments for each individual and the second time the day before just to confirm. The changed the start time from 9AM to 10 AM without asking, but that isn't even the biggest issue. We arrive on time, all 8 of us, expecting appointments would be at least close to one another. THAT IS NOT THE CASE. They started off with two people at 10:05 AM because apparently there staff can't arrive on time. Staff were walking in after their appointments started. They called me over for a manicure which I cancelled 5 days before the appointment since I went to my regular nail tech. When I stated this, she walked away and proceeded to play on her phone. I DO NOT understand she decided to play on her phone for 45 minutes when I had a bridesmaid just getting a shallec manicure. That would have been an easy adjustment. When I asked her to take someone else since 5 of us where still sitting there, She proceeded to tell me she can't. They literally have 3 people working on us at a time. Each pedicure takes 50 minutes or so and a manicure 45. When finally getting annoyed since we all still have things to get ready for the evening and the wedding the next day. They finally told me the times for everyone. My appointment for my pedicure was at 12:45PM! They had no right to change the appointments the way they did and not tell me. We were supposed to be originally out of there by 11:30 AM. Instead, we were so staggered, I was't out until after 1 PM and others 1:30PM. DO NOT make a bridal appointment with this salon has they have lack of communication, lack or professionalism, and lack of honesty. I will never be going back to polished beauty bar again. read more

I have been getting my nails done by Nicole for quite a while now and have always had a great experience.

I would unfortunately not recommend this salon to anyone. My pedicure was subpar compared to most other pedicures I've received. There is a small table that awkwardly sits to the side of every bowl that hurt my thigh during the pedicure. The woman that did my toe nails laughed with her coworker about how she refuses to touch ingrown nails, which I thought was inappropriate and made me think she would not do a thorough job. Additionally, they did not have the correct tool (microplane file) to get all of my dry skin off. Lastly, although my nails dried for almost an hour and a half in flip flops, they were smudged and ruined when I put on closed toe shoes. I also got a dip manicure and was not pleased with the results. They did not file down the dip so they are super thick. She also forgot to do a second dip on one finger so it noticeably lighter than the rest of my fingers. It's been 6 days and the top coat chipped on my thumb. Overall, not a good experience. Positives are that the staff were nice (although informal and unprofessional) and the salon is clean and uses new sterile tools for each customer. They have a nice selection of colors as well. Although I didn't like my manicure, the lady that did it was nice and we had a good conversation. read more
