I called ahead to find out how busy the shop was and was assured that I could be taken care of within minutes. I visited for a full set ( acrylics ), the wait time was less than 10 min and Jackie did my nails. She has been doing nails for 30 years so she's really experienced. I had a specific design in mind and she did an amazing job! Will definitely be returning. *Safety: The store has a clear sign at the door indicating the clients to first wash their hands before sign in for any service. They have a spacious area in the back that is super relaxing for pedis. The staff was so accommodating and this place gets busy. I'd make an appointment if you are getting both services. This was by far the best nail experience I have ever had in my whole life, granted that's not much because I'm 18. At the same time, I have been to many overpriced nail salons and let down by nail techs in a rush that were rude or cut my cuticles. This nail salon, even when busy, is incredible. They got my nails done and it didn't even feel like any time passed. There's no errors in these nails. They're shaped perfectly. They're literally perfect. I'm so happy I can't stop looking at them. I'm a perfectionist, so usually after getting my nails done I start picking at flaws and getting upset and wondering why the hell I spent $70. But today I didn't even spend that! I spent $60, $10 of which were a tip. I do not regret even a single penny. This will be my new regular salon. I trust these people with my life, lol. I have to go back and try designs and see how well they do with designs/nail art. I still think this place is incredible and so much easier than any other place I've ever been. I'm new to the area and had three different (not good) experiences before I found VS Nails in Lafayette. Tina was patient and thorough with my nails, which were in bad shape from another salon. She cleaned them up, did an awesome dip powder service, and added this sweet detail. I am SO GLAD I found VS Nails and Tina, and can't wait to go back soon! The place was spacious and the people were friendly, however... my friend and I waited for 20 minutes when we had appointments. They called two other ladies back before us that had 11:30 appointments and we had 11:15 appointments. Once it was our turn, I was extremely disappointed to find out that instead of the nail technician soaking and using a drill to file down our acrylics, they just used a fake nail to pop ours off! That's SO TERRIBLE for the nail bed. I had just explained my concern BEFORE he started, and he proceeded to pop them off anyway. Then my thumb nail tore all the way down because he was so careless. He ended up using nail glue to glue my actual nail back together. From that point on he could tell that he had screwed up. He said they use that method because it's faster than soaking. (Of course it is, but then they can turn over customers twice as fast. ) I ended up with a gel manicure, and it does look good. But I left his chair with rough ends on my nails... once I was finally able to meet up with my friend, I found out she was charged eight dollars more than I was, and we had the same exact thing done. I am so impressed with the nails I got at VS nails. I was hesitant to go originally because they had low reviews on Yelp, but they far exceeded my expectations. The salon was large and very clean. I got a gel manicure with a design and the process was really quick. I went at 10 AM and they got me right in with no wait time. The design was a custom one I saw online, and I felt they did a really good job with it for it to be on my original nails which are pretty average length. There was a bit of a language barrier but we were able to overcome it easily enough that my nails are exactly what I wanted. I intend to go back for sure. read more

Worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. Made an appointment for 5 pedicures on a Wednesday late afternoon. They had just filled the chairs when we arrived and didn't even have 5 people doing pedicures. It was almost an hour later when they started our first one. There was no admission of error or apology. My mom had to leave because she had an errand at a place that closed 2 hours after our appointment time and it was obvious she wouldn't make it if she stayed. The service was rushed and the nail tools were dunked in solution and rinsed off. They have a sterilizing machine, but didn't use it between customers. That's gross! Overall understaffed for the appointments they took and service was rushed and not as clean as it should have been. I don't recommend this place. read more

Visited this nail salon for a girls afternoon with my best friend. The staff is quick and efficient. We didn't have to wait long for a pedicure and the technicians were really nice. I love the massage chairs and the techs adjusted the water temperature for our feet as needed. They even had a little kid area so If you wanted to bring your daughter they had their own size manicure/pedicure area and tablets to watch tv on. So cute!!! Price wasn't bad either. If you have a large group you should definitely call ahead but I think just for a quick drop in you're fine. This made for a wonderful afternoon! read more

I took in a picture of the design I wanted and she expertly drew it on my nails. They are all super friendly. My nails last a long time and I'm super pleased with the results. I have gone here several times since they opened and have to say the last time I went was terrible. Got a mani and pedi with Nathan... pedi was just ok, but the gel French mani was terrible. I had done on Tues and by Fri it was bubbling and peeling off. I called instead of posting on social media my complaint, and they told me to come back in and they would fix. so I went back next day (30 mile drive) and they had same guy fix. He did them all over, but the very next day they peeled and bubbled again. i paid over $85 including tip and it was the worst ever! If I ever go there I will make sure I don't get Nathan! read more

I have been here several times and I never had a problem until today, I made an appointment few days before but I still had to wait 30 minutes to be attended, so don't worry about making an appointment. I went for dip manicure and regular pedicure which costs $70 (you can see that package on their price list on Facebook) I added tips to make my nails a bit longer and that costs $5 which I knew about it, so we are at $75 so far. I picked my colors and what I wanted done, however after the women dipped all of my nails in the colors she says to me "oh you know this is going to cost more because you picked different colors" and I'm like...??? Oh so you're going to tell me now after you dipped all my nails and we are already a half through the process??? So she told me that "it costs more because she has to grab more containers (3 colors) and that takes more time" which doesn't make any sense because I am already paying for dip powder, regardless she has to dip all of my nails, so I stood up and before finishing my nails she said "don't worry it won't cost any extra" but when I go to pay they charged me $10 extra fee for literally one tiny thin X in two of my nails, they're insane with how much they charge for anything seriously... I would understand if I picked super long nails, ombré nails or almond shape or a difficult design, but really? And to end this, my pedicure was waaaay to awful. read more

I've come here twice to get a fill on my full set. The first time, the lady didn't fill my nails in all the way. there was so much space left, i had to get them done again in a week. She was nice and picked up on social cues though, which i appreciated. it seemed like she was having a bad day, so i let it slide. I came back a second time to see if it was just that day. this time i had a guy take care of me, he was really nice and did a decent job with the filling in, but when i asked for my nails to be filed down a little since they had grown out, he basically took the whole nail off. the paint job wasn't spectacular either. For me, the best reason to come here is because they have a big enough staff where you can do a walk in, which i appreciate since i can be spontaneous with stuff like this. Beautiful salon with poor communication: The interior of Vs Nails is extremely beautiful, a pleasant surprise for the location with an open front salon and a wonderful back reserved mostly for pedicures. The back features tall ceilings with lush natural designs that relax you and make you feel like you've left Lafayette, very much a spa feel. The staff is friendly and readily available and the salon is well ventilated which is extremely important for a nail salon which constantly has fumes produced. The prices were acceptable, $40 for gel on acrylic, $10 for color on my toes. The technician who did my nails, Vincent, was very nice and we shared pleasant small talk while he worked. I requested a short style with square shaped nails, gel polish on top of acrylic. I stressed that I wanted a slim nail style and showed him a picture for reference to all he affirmed me he could do. However, in the end I was less than satisfied with the results. Although the color and paint job was beautiful the style was wide and bulbous. I referred back to the picture afterwards and he agreed that it did not look the same and told me I had chosen the wrong technique (gel on acrylic). This would have been a great piece of information to share with me before we started, but this was not the case and there was little to be done to fix it. So to conclude, while the general impression is pleasant, I would recommend giving clear instructions and asking if they can for sure deliver on what you want before proceeding and not rely on a full consultation from the technician. read more

I have been going to this nail spa for a couple of years. Loved it the first 1 1/2 years but the past 6 months something has changed... 3 of the last 4 times my nails have not lasted. I get a gel polish manicure. The polish loosens around the edges, and peels off within a couple of days. I drive 30 miles , and had just gotten home last time and two had already peeled. So I drove back and fixed them. Now 4 days later I've had to remove the gel polish because they were all peeling. They don't really do much "manicuring". The pedicures still seem to be decent. A lot of the seasoned employees seem to have disappeared. Wonder if the place is under new ownership?? read more
