I flew into town for a work trip and did not get a chance to remove my old ratty nail polish, and I didn't want to spend the week with my nails in shambles. I walked into this place, and they were pretty busy for a Monday night, but despite being busy, a nail attendant came and asked me what I needed. They even removed the nail polish for me and did not charge me. That was incredibly thoughtful and kind. I will be back here for mani/pedi's in the future! read more

The person trimmed my nails. No file, no nothing! My original polish wasn't even completely removed. The new polish didn't make it a day before it began to chip. The prices are reasonable and I've never gotten a bad result. The staff have always been nice and friendly to me. It saddens me to say that I won't be back to Polished. For a bit of "Me Time" on a Friday afternoon, I headed to Polished to treat myself a bit. There was only one client when I first walked in and by the time I picked my shade out I was the only client in the shop. A very sweet tech sat me down for a lovely and well done pedicure before polishing; I still have to say this is where their bread and butter is, but as far as polish application... well keep reading. The time and detail taken by these gals in scrubbing and pruning your feet is really a wonderful treat and is worth the price. Unfortunately, though, when it came time for the tech to apply my polish, her hands were so shaky she wasn't able to apply the dark laquer evenly. I wanted to tell her I needed another coat of colour, but I was afraid of ending up with polished skin rather than nails-- she'd already accidentally polished the end of my flip flop! When I was handed off (hehe) to the nail tech I did make sure I received a full manicure, which I have to say was pretty standard (I can't ask for much since I am so picky about my nails). However, when it came time to apply the laquer, again, only two extremely light and uneven coats of polish were applied. I commented that a few of my nails needed additional coats, but the tech was so caught up in helping a student tech perfect her project that she just slapped on the clear coat and I was whisked under the UV lamps for drying and ever addressed again. Now, two days later, my polish is chipped and flaking off. In the sun you can see the streaked gaps in polish application and the overall look is horrible. A lady asked me today about my nail colour- saying it was really neat- and I made sure I told her the name of the shade, but to never darken Polish's door for application. For $50 + tip I am sure I can find a better salon. If I were ever in the market for a plain manicure with no polish I might return, but that would be like asking a peacock to pluck out it's tail feathers... it's just not gonna happen. read more

Although I really wanted to like this place as it is a convenient location, sadly I will not be returning. Before getting my nails done, I walked in to check out the establishment and to see if they could do my nails the way I have been accustomed to (colored powder on natural nail with a gel overlay) at the salon I go to in CA. The girl at the front desk said they did and it wouldn't be a problem. A few days later I made an appointment and while doing so I explained how I would like my nails and to book me with whom ever would be best at that technique. Luckily I was able to get in that day, however once the nail tech started working on my nails, I came to realize that she was not comfortable doing my nails the way I wanted. In fact she told me that having one solid powder color on my nail was not hygienic, yet if I had asked for a two color pink and white it was. While working on my nails she asked me several times whether or not I would prefer to just get my nails painted with gel polish which just made me more uncomfortable. To be honest I couldn't even bare to watch my nails getting done as I could see that they were lumpy and misshaped. The only thing that kept me sitting in the chair was the fact that I was starting a new job the following day. And to top this all off, I didn't even get the regular accompaniments that come with a manicure, such as trimming/cutting hang nails, pushing cuticles, and oil/lotion massage on at least the hands. Aside from this, it cost me $60 not including tip. As it is a prime downtown location you would also think that the salon would fit the surrounding ambiance but sadly it didn't. It is stark white with rows of chairs. Nothing inviting or comfortable about it. I give one star to this review for the effort that the tech had made trying to fulfill my request and from 10 feet away or in low light, my nails look decent. But for the price and the outcome of my nails, I will not be returning. On to find a new place... read more

The Polish looks fine, I like the color, but the experience wasn't the full-on pampering, relaxing experience I was hoping for. I was in and out in 23 minutes, so if you only have your lunch break to get a pedicure, this would be good for you. Don't spring for anything extra, as the $15 foot scrub & massage was totally not worth it. One weird thing to note- I was expecting to be directed to the pedicure chairs with the foot tubs upon arrival, but instead sat in the manicure chair & the lady half layed on the floor to Polish my toes. I made and appointment for a mani/pedi and at the time of booking I specifically said I want gel polish with a full manicure that included trimming my cuticles. What I received was a quick nail shaping and gel polish that was put on too fast and ended up all over my untrimmed cuticles. The polish was chipping off 3 days later and I ended up going to a different salon to have it redone. My pedicure was quite relaxing and they did a good job of working my callused heels. However, the polish I had put on was chipping the very next day. Needless to say, I won't ne driving 70 miles to visit this salon again. read more

I scheduled a manicure and pedicure at Polished a few weeks ago before a trip to Las Vegas. When I went into the salon they were doing a $20 rockstar special on toes which the woman at the front suggested. I had made it clear it was my first time doing the gel nail polish. I was taken back and had my toe nails sanded down with a dremel by a nail tech. She didn't talk to me the entire time (not even a greeting!), and even my small attempts at small talk were blatantly ignored. After using a dremel on my toes, she started applying the gel polish without even cleaning off any of the dust or doing cuticle work or anything on my feet. I asked her twice if she was planning on giving me a pedicure. She assured me that they put you in the water AFTER they apply the gel polish. I was put in a lukewarm tub of water, where she half-heartedly applied some lotion in a short massage and was then told my pedicure was complete. The polish looked awful. There were chunks of it missing in the corners and in fact on close inspection, there was even some sock lint still on my big toe and polish that was applied right over it! I pulled at the lint and a bit of the polish came right off with it! My original appointment was for a manicure and a pedicure, and was talked into doing rockstar nails - which apparently doesn't include a pedicure. When I asked why no cuticle work was done and why my nails were polished BEFORE putting in me in water, they said that that is how gel nails are done. When I made the appointment I had asked for a manicure and pedicure. If getting rock star nails meant that I wouldn't be receiving a pedicure, they should explain this before pushing me into a service that took away the service I came in to get in the first place! When I said something to the nail tech, she was very strange and just stared at the floor not answering any of my concerns after I showed her the polish coming off. We sat in complete silence for probably a full minute like that before I finally asked to talk to someone else that could help me. At this point, the manager came out and tried to do some cuticle work on my toes, which just looked horrible and left my feet looking choppy and awful like someone sloppily just took a small scissors around my toenails - with the chipped and poorly applied polish. I was very distressed at this point and said I thought I would just be sticking to the rockstar nails and not going ahead with the manicure. After seeing the poor quality of work on my toes what would my hands look like? At this point in time, I was so unhappy and so incredibly uncomfortable, I just wanted out of there immediately! Afterwards, they got pushy about payment and made sure that I knew I had to pay the full $55 ( and not the $20 Rockstar nails since they "added" a pedi) because somehow it was my fault for not being clear about what I wanted to get (again, my appointment for a manicure and pedicure!) because I agreed to do their gel nail special, which I told them I had never done before. I let them know I was so unhappy about the work they did, I was going to have to go somewhere else right after this so I could get it done right. I was willing to pay half-price, but not full. The owner then came out and berated me and made me feel about 2 inches tall. He basically said he overheard his nail technician when I came into the shop and she did everything correctly. He let me know it was 100% my fault for going with the gel nails, and that a full pedicure was not included with the rockstar nails, even though my appt. was for a mani/pedi first and foremost. The owner did not see my nails at all. When I mentioned how poorly the polish was applied and how even applied over a bit of sock lint, he said it wasn't his nail technicians job to take care of my "dirty feet". At that point in time he threw my credit card at me and said his salon did not need my money and that I shouldn't tell him what was or wasn't a good pedicure because he travels all over the world teaching people how to do pedicures. I was thoroughly unhappy with my experience at Polished. I was berated and upset about this experience so much so, that a month later, I still feel the need to write this review. Services were not explained very thoroughly, the work is sloppy, they were rude, not very friendly and are over-priced. They also own the salons in the Walmarts in town. Since that was my first experience with gel nails, I've checked with a few other salons about Polished process of putting the gel polish on before the pedicure, and they always say they do the pedicure first before applying the polish. When I went straight to another salon to get my feet fixed, the nail technician there could not believe they would send people out the door like this. She thought my pedicure was over a month old! For the prices at Polished, the results should be excellent. I came in with a group and we each paid $55 + for our pedicures. My first complaint was the water temperature. It was cold! I asked my tech to refill the basin, but they just poured in some warmer water and walked away. The pedicure itself was okay. They do a nice scrub and massage, plus a hot towel with a mask. The problem with this, however, is that they left the towels on us for so long and walked away that by the time they came back we were all just sitting here with cold towels on. While my tech was friendly, I was less than impressed with the polish job. My toes all ended up with polish around the nails and I don't like the shape they were trimmed to (I wasn't ever asked if I wanted the nails cut or filed). I have had much better results elsewhere and not paid nearly as much. read more

Terrible. My nails are horrible. I had to file the sides down when I got home. They were sharp and pointy. The acrylic has waves and doesn't go all the way to the edges on most nails. The tips chosen were too small for my nails. They were already peeling off that night. The rounding was uneven. They gave me extra long pinky nails, so it lookslike I do coke... The acrylic is wrapped under BOTH my pointer finger nails. Everyone I've asked to remove them won't touch them because they can't remove the acrylic when it's wrapped around the nail. I have to wait for them to grow out... I hate them. read more

I went to Polished on Broadway with my mom, mother-in-law, aunt, and bridal party. There were 8 of us total and all coming from different locations, airport, hotels, etc and thanks to a train were a little late for our appointment, walked in the door 7 minutes late and after picking out polish colors were in the pedicure chairs 11 minutes after the appointment time. The girl that did my pedicure (I think her name was Kaylee or something like that) was so incredibly rude to me and my party and complaining to her coworkers about our tardiness right in front of us! I was appalled and embarrassed for bringing my ladies there to spend money! My pedicure was definitely not up to par, especially for the cost, but I didn't want to say anything for fear of being scolded and shamed again. It caused a weird tension and not at all the experience I wanted for all of us the day before my wedding. We all got gel manicures, and I've also had better jobs done for less, but at least by that point "Kaylee" had left the salon so it was a bit better than the pedicure. But I've gotten it done before from other salons in town. As she was working on my feet she literally ignored everything I said and just talked to her coworker next to her. Let that slide. Whatever. My daughter's acrylic nails are chipping the next day and my manicure is already peeling off and I notice d that already that night. Absolutey worst polish I have ever had! So bad! I've gone here 3-4 times over the past few years while in Fargo for work (close to my hotel) and every time I'm blown away that this place can be consistently so terrible. The techs always talk about terribly inappropriate stuff and openly hate working there, and my manicure looks like a kid did it. I have been going to polished for about 2 years now and I love going to this place, I see kaley for my nails and i have to say that she is such a good nail person, she knows how i like my nails done everytime i come in for a fill. I have gotten gel manicures a few times at polished. All three were by different people and 1 was decent, however, she didn't bother to polish to the edges. The other two were terrible. Once the girl decided it wasn't important enough for her to take my existing nail polish all the way off before applying the gel. It ended up showing all around each edge and looking like a fungus. I asked her to fix it and she said "it looks fine" and still made me pay. The last time my polish peeled immediately and the tech wouldn't do a slanted French tip because "she's no artist, it took me 3 times to pass the nail test!" I never get my nails done so I went in for a mani/pedi treatment my husband got me for my birthday and was sadly disappointed this place has gone way down hill. Service was rushed and quality was horrid, the girls at the front obviously looked bored and were incredibly rude. I would not go to polished again. I have been going to other nail salons in Fargo/Moorhead and have never had the experience I did at polished, I received a gift card for my birthday so I thought that I would try this nail place out. I had my nail french manicure with gel polish. My nails have remained the same length since I have been getting gel polish after all it is supposed to save your nails from breaking and I have not had a nail break since I have had gel polished applied until polished applied the nail polish. The gal that did the first manicure did a terrible job she did not take my cuticles down to what they should have been nor did she remove my hang nails and when she filed my nails she did not file them so they even remotely looked even needless to say I was very disappointed. I went back for my final manicure and this time 2 of my nails had broke so I had her file the rest of my nails so they were all even I also had a gel nail color applied. This gal did remove the cuticles, removed my hang nails and applied a gel color however she did not do a good job. After all that she had the audacity to ask if she should take her tip out of the gift card or was I going to pay out of my pocket. I never will go there again. read more
