This company was assigned through American home shield. The communication through text and the phone call went well. I had high hopes in the beginning. Immediately upon arrival, the intense negativity began. He was the grumpiest service guy I think I've ever had to deal with. From the moment I met him he acted like he hated the job, my house, my dogs, and me. Everything he said in all of his nonverbal communication just screamed that he did not like us. He constantly told me all that he couldn't do, like my issue was not fixable for about seven different reasons. I thought he would leave since it seemed so impossible, but I guess he was just complaining because in the end he fixed it in like ten minutes. He gave me time frames between 8 AM and 8 PM. Maybe he's working too much. Maybe he doesn't like taking American home shield jobs. Whatever his problem is, he should sort it out because this is no way to treat people and it's certainly no way to run a business. I wish I would've asked him to leave right away. It's not hopeless, Pete. You can turn things around at any time. If you treat people well, you'll get nice reviews. If you are polite to them, they will most likely be polite back to you. You're throwing out a lot of negativity and I'm sure that's coming back at you and maybe that's got you in a cycle of negativity that you're finding it hard to get out of. But you can change this anytime you want to. I won't ever have you back at my house though. read more

Company assigned by American home shield, From the first phone call he did not look at necessary code issues unless they were listed on the work order, I added the area of concern. late for appointment once he showed up he did not want to inspect the issues in the attic that needed attention. After exchanging words with him he made it up into the attic and wrote up an estimate for 4000.00 to install a junction box and run a new wire down to the switch. i can only image this guy stays in business due to referrals from home warranty company. read more

Pete Politzki is the owner of this company. I agree with all of the other reviews. Difficult to contact. After having an appointment with him for a week, and having a four hour time window to show up, he called me three hours in to tell me that he wasn't interested in doing the work and cancelled. He then blamed me for the cancellation because he hadn't looked at the notes for the job until he was heading over to my house. After blaming me he insisted that he hadn't wasted my time by having me wait for him, that instead I had wasted his time by not making sure he understood what I needed done. The worst. read more

I'm very dissatisfied with Pete. Not only did he totally forget about my work order, so I had to live with a kitchen with no overhead lights and a master bath with no exhaust fan for an extra 3 weeks, he came the wrong day and after the appointed time. All this I could live with but when he replaced dimmer switches, he paid no attention to the color and put in dimmers that are not only different from the original, but different from each other. When I expressed my complaint, he wanted to explain why it happened. I told him I really don't care why, just that he fit it. He refused and caused a scene outside my house. this company was assigned to us via American Home Shield. Horrible experience, unprofessional manner. Will go out of my way never to use this company again. He independently and subjectively determined my issued was the result of improper installation after the fixture had worked fine for over 17 years. His actions resulted in a denial of coverage. All of this was done without an explanation or demonstration of the problem. He left my house without my knowledge and I called him to find he was still in my driveway. Save yourself some headaches and anguish and get a professional electrical company to deal with. If not, I look forward to seeing your negative review in the future. read more

Pete called me to set up my appointment. He gave me a window of 12-4pm, which I thought was a pretty wide time frame to start with. It's not like I have hours to sit at home waiting on him. He stated he would call when he was about 30 away. He called at 12:40 pm. He stated he would be there in about an hour. Nearly 2 hours after his call I called him to see where he was. He stated he was close. I told him don't bother, that's not a good business practice to be that late without calling. He got upset and told me I would be charged anyways. Buyers beware. Pete is rude to begin with. He returned my call and started with, " I didn't listen to your message." When I said I wanted to schedule an appointment, his response was, "I am driving.". During the conversation he was rude and uncooperative. He has very long appointment windows, 5 hrs. He is not very flexible and he told me that the warranty company won't pay for Saturdays, which is not true. I called the warranty company and quickly canceled the call. We hired Politzki Electric to fix a number of problems in our house that had built up over the years: flickering lights, incompatibilities between old electronic dimmers and new LED lamps, etc. We asked Pete to add dimmer LED lighting to two antique display cabinets, not an easy job to get right. He was courteous and thorough, completed the work competently, and cleaned up well. We will hire him again. read more

Pete at Politzki Electric was sent by American Home Shield to fix two outlets that a home inspector discovered weren't working correctly during the home inspection of a home we are selling. Pete called within a couple of hours after I contacted AHS. We set up a time to come out, which was the next day. He called to let me know that he would be arriving closer to the end of the time frame he gave me, which was very considerate. He called again to when he was 15-20 minutes out, which I really appreciated. He arrived within the time frame quoted and had the parts with him. He replaced the two outlets, was very polite and was finished in a short period of time. I was happy with his service and will be calling him in the future to do some electrical work on our new home. I don't write reviews normally, but after reading the "not so favorable" reviews, I was a little apprehensive about not having a choice of contractors when using AHS. Just saved $110 by using the home warranty vs. quotes from 2 other contractors. read more
