This was the loveliest little spot. Fresh flowers. Yummy matcha. Love their array of flavors. Mostly house made syrups I was told. The ambiance is friendly and great for connecting with friends. The barista was so kind and friendly & also quick! The girl at the counter who took our order however ; she was rude, unfriendly, frustrated with me asking questions about the menu options. She was impatient with me reading over the menu and learning about their items. She had a terrible unwelcoming face the entire time we were at the counter. Very unfriendly for how lovely this coffee shop was. Thankfully the barista made up for that experience. read more

Pollen was a cute coffee shop! It was really cute inside. In terms of coffee, I got the seasonal fall latte "Basic Bitch." This was their take on a pumpkin spice latte. I thought that it was pretty good. It didn't blow my mind but was also something I would get again! The coffee itself was smooth and did have good flavor. I think it might have been on the lighter side which isn't always my preference. read more

Pollen has such a cute, fun vibe with delicious coffee and pastries! My dad tried and thoroughly enjoyed a single origin pour over while I got their cold brew with a splash of oat milk. The single origin was incredibly aromatic and you could really taste the subtle notes. The cold brew was very smooth and pleasant. The baristas were friendly and helpful and it just seemed like everyone there was kind and welcoming. We didn't get a chance to try their flower bar but it looked so cute! read more

This is a new favorite coffee spot in Asheville, one of my favorite cities in North Carolina. This cozy coffee shop offers a small menu of hot and cold coffee drinks with a few pastry options. My wife and I went for macadamia milk lattes with a morning muffin and a cardamon bun. Everything was delicious! The service was outstanding, diverse and friendly! The location is easy to find with plenty of street parking and a paid (very affordable) parking lot right across from it. Overall, 100% recommended. read more

I'm finally getting around to writing my reviews of all of the wonderful places I found in Asheville in 2023. Pollen was a favorite among the numerous cafes I frequented there, primarily for its warm, comfortable, and inviting atmosphere, staff, and clientele. I love a multi-roaster shop that competently highlights the best regional roasters, and I absolutely adored treating myself to a little sunshine in the form of a cappuccino in their window seat and assembling myself a bouquet of the freshest flowers (local, not shipped internationally like your average flower shop). Watching the community come together for each other in the aftermath of Helene has been both heartbreaking and heartwarming, so I wanted to highlight businesses worth supporting. I will definitely be returning to Asheville, and to Pollen, when the city is back on its feet. read more

Atmosphere: Pollen is a coffee and flower shop located around Downtown Asheville. The interior is small with only a few tables, but we loved admiring their floral selection while waiting for our drinks. Parking can be tricky, but we were able to find some street parking nearby. Service: Our barista was friendly, and our drinks came out quickly! Food: We ordered the Beekeeper Latte and seasonal Strawberry Matcha. The Beekeeper syrup, made with raw honey and vanilla, was light and pleasantly sweet. However, the espresso was difficult to appreciate as our drink felt a bit watered down. The Strawberry Matcha was aesthetically pleasing to look at but similarly watered down. Overall: Pollen is a cute stop on a Downtown Asheville excursion, but we were hoping for stronger flavors from our drinks. This place was cute and the baristas were super attentive. The sign to the shop is very small, and not an easy spot of driving, but there is tons of street parking near by. This shop is very bright inside, with bright colors and lots of natural light. They had a seasonal drink, strawberry matcha, that sounded amazing, I wish I had seen it before I ordered my drink. I got my normal cortado, which was good. It was an average cortado, nicely extracted espresso. We did order an almond danish and they accidentally gave us the almond croissant, which is fine because it was delicious! They have a few types of seating with little two people tables and some more more couch styled seats to hang out, not tons of actual seating areas but there are a few. It looked like this cafe lines up to a coworking space. If I am ever back in the area I might stop in again but I am sad I don't live closer so I could go back for the strawberry milk matcha. read more

Drinks here are NEVER consistent. One day I'll order an extra hot, hazelnut mocha w/no whip and it will be good but a week later it will be an entirely different drink. I've asked for extra hot and just got regular temp. Ive asked for drinks with NO WHIP...only to get it with whip. Ive asked for lite in mocha only to get a drink too sweet. And if you dare to politely complain and ask for a new drink you are treated coldly. Stop going to establishments that not only provide crap product but crap service. Made worse when they beg for tips too!!! read more

Live laugh Pollen! I found this shop shortly after moving to the area in 2022, and it has been my #1 ever since. If I file bankruptcy it's because I am addicted to putting myself in debt to enjoy every morning with a latte. It's not even the amazing coffee or the fantastic vegan food (shout out to Back Porch)! Pollen is a safe spot for me. I love everyone who works there and seeing them makes my day (special shout out to Ezra, Avi and Serena). I'm so glad this neighborhood gem exists. There's street parking but it does get busy, so you have to be patient! It's worth it. If you get there early enough you can get a table, but don't get upset if you were late and someone else got there first. Thank you Pollen you are the very besttttt read more

I personally had a wonderful experience here. The interior is quite open but roomy enough to hold a few people without creating a crowd or having anyone get in the way. They only had a couple of tables though so I'm guessing they try to keep their customer base as a more on-the-go kind of clientele. I personally got matcha with old milk, which was delicious. The staff was very friendly & the shop was clean & well maintained. All the floral is stunning & decor made me feel like I'm in a fairy tale. Also, random, but their logo is perfect!!! Amazing coffee shop and flower shop! I went to this coffee shop while visiting Asheville and spent a few hours there working on my laptop. A great place to work and I love the atmosphere here! There is cute decor and a bonus that they also sell flowers inside. It's not a very big coffee shop but a good size and the lattes are delicious! Pollen has the strongest and tastiest single origin coffee in Asheville. My only complaint is one of the employees always wearing a mask. None of the other workers wear one. Flowers and Coffee are all about the bloom, the opening, the giving. And Pollen offers such beautiful bloom with its excellently curated coffee and flowers. But nothing screams ANTI-BLOOM more that a MASK! For whatever reasons she's wearing this face diaper, be it the common superstition that viruses actually exist and are floating in the air trying to kill us, or her political ideology/social identity, or her lack of self-love or knowledge of humanity's greatest gift - our ability to smile at and connect with each other, I hope she wakes up soon and smells the coffee, or her co-workers talk some sense into her, so that Pollen can truly shine as the greatest in all of Asheville, and possibly all of North Carolina. read more

There is only one situation where I get as happy as I do when I walk through the Pollen door, and thats when my wife makes me a night sandwich and then sleeps on the couch so I can have the whole bed to myself! Usually just on birthdays! I cannot wait for the coffee from Pollen to enter my lips next. I would ONLY recommend this place to an ally. This cafe is soooo cute. I'm here on vacation and trying not to work, but if i needed to work for a few hours I would definitely go here. I'd work and eat one dessert after another. The mango shaved ice was even better than expected. It was ginormous and I was full from dinner, but did a pretty good job eating most of it because it was too delicious to stop. My husband got a piece of blueberry cheesecake and i couldn't help, but have a few bites of that as well. I was hoping to make it back a second (or third) time, but sadly don't think we are going to have time. Another reason to come back to Asheville and it may just be my first stop!

Loved their menu as well. Although their mini cakes and other treats appealed to me as well, I opted to try their Taro Shaved Ice (they had 2 other flavors as well...think Mango and Mocha?). Well, their Taro Shaved Ice was PERFECT!!! The shaved ice was nice and dry, and the toppings (Boba, Lychee jelly, and Strawberries...even whipped cream on top) were generous and delicious! LOVED the place...and I can't wait to return! My husband will absolutely loved their version of Shaved Ice...What a treat to come!

I liked the name so much because I was the type of person who used malaprops a good amount. It's extra charming because you're able to order something from their cafe while reading your book. This spot is deceptively huge. The different sections are very intentional and beautifully organized. I had an especially great time looking at the "Beautiful Books" section this visit. I ended up falling in love with a short stories book by Chips Hardy that I took home. I also adored their graphic t-shirts here. I am not a big t-shirt person, but always want more graphic tees, so was so excited to love this one so much. I had a really special experience with one of the booksellers here on my recent visit too. I could not find The Enchanted April in the fiction section and when I asked, one of the booksellers got really excited about the author and that book. She passionately told me how wonderful the book was. We were sad to see it was sold out, but suggested I check a bookstore a block over. I love this bookstore and think everyone should make it a stop on an Asheville trip.

Came here randomly and was impressed. The whole bean coffee seemed expensive but there's a cool little tab where you can see how much the roasters paid for the coffee. I got a bag and was surprised they offered me a free drip coffee (it makes the investment feel a lot safer) and the coffee was excellent. By the time I got to work it had cooled off and was so sweet.
