Took almost 40 minutes for our cab to arrive at the Holiday Inn Winchester. We were told 15 to 20 minutes and had to call a few times to actually get through to a dispatcher. The fare was $8.50 from the Holiday Inn to downtown. We asked the guy if they'd be around later for a ride home and he said they run 24 hours. However, when we called later that night around 10pm, we were told it was at least an hour's wait. Thank goodness we found the lone Uber that might and got picked up much sooner. read more

Worse customer service, I have ever experienced. Called last night to set up a morning ride. Just a quick one way trip. Yet important. They said call back at 5 a.m. in the morning, as "he did not have time to set it up". I called back to set it up at 5 a.m. The dispatcher was rude. She said, we do not have time for that. I find it very rude, to be told to call back in a.m., then rudely told we do not have time. Uber is cheaper and easier to access. So that is the way, I went. read more

Booked a ride online to get to work this morning, the driver arrived on time and got me to work on time (about 8 miles). Did notice driver wasn't wearing his seatbelt...and the cost was an astronomical $32 for that trip. Same trip with Uber in the afternoon? $14. If Uber becomes more prominent in the area, this company is done for. Oh, and I also scheduled a cab 2 days in advance, only for the driver to cancel the appointment on me 10 minutes after I was scheduled to be picked up for appointment. Absolutely terrible. I called at 5:00 PM for a cab at 6:00 PM. The dispatcher said that the can would only be available for 6:30 PM and that another customer was going to a destination nearby. I said I would be OK with sharing the cab. The cab was 30 minutes late. And we were waiting for an additional 10 minutes for the other guy. There are better cab companies that others used that appeared to be on time such as Virginia USA. read more

Completely incompetent, scheduled transportation for 14 people a week in advance, 2 broken down vans showed up that only fit 11 people total. Both the drivers gave me blank stares and had no solution. I called the main line and was told I" don't know, John's worked here for many years" then proceeded to offer no solution whatsoever. A few friends and I were attending a party for the Apple Blossom Festival this past may. The party was about a mile away from our hotel and we planned on drinking so we thought a cab would do well as transportation. We asked the front desk and they said Polly's Cab was pretty much the only taxi company in town. They gave me the number and I called them an hour and a half before we wanted to leave the hotel for the party. About 30 minutes before the scheduled pickup time I called to confirm our taxi. The dispatch said it would be there as scheduled. After this, we walked down to the lobby and waited. After the scheduled time past I gave them 15 minutes, knowing that taxi pickups aren't an exact science. Once that 15 minutes passed I gave the dispatch a call and asked where the taxi was. They said "we will send one right out." My thought was, "why haven't they sent it out already?" So we waited another 15 minutes and I called again. This time the dispatcher had changed and he said that it would be there in 20 minutes. I explained how frustrating it was that we were now over 30 minutes late to the party and now had to wait up another 30 for the taxi. At this the dispatcher said told me that the taxi's can only move so fast and he didn't know what I wanted him to do. At this I told him goodbye and we waited the 30 minutes. As I was closing in on blowing a blood vessel in my forehead I called Polly's again and the dispatcher said it would be another 15 minutes before he could get a cab to me. I told him that we had called almost 3 hours earlier and were told we would have a taxi at the scheduled time. Then we waited another hour and he was asking us to wait even longer. I told him it was completely ridiculous that I was being strung along and had they been either straightforward and told me it would take an hour, or competent enough to realize their taxi's were that backed up I would have never called them in the first place. At this the man asked me if I still wanted the cab to come. I told him I would call him in 15 to 30 minutes to let him know and then hung up. Polly's cab ruined the beginning of our night and made us over an hour and a half late to a party we paid to get into. We also then had to make a decision as to who was going to DD which was another frustration. I would not use Polly's cab for anything. Terrible experience! I ordered a cab last night at 11:00 p.m. They said they would be at least an hour (which makes no sense). Since they were the only place open, that took credit cards, I had to agree. I waited an hour and fifteen minutes. After that, I called to check the status of my cab. the man I spoke to stated that the cab waited outside my house for 15 minutes, honking its horn. This was a complete lie. I checked frequently for the cab, and I did not receive the usually text message alerting me that the cab was present. When I asked the dispatcher to send the cab back, he stated that I would have to wait another hour (what?!?!). There are much better cab companies in winchester, like Uncle Sam Transportation. I will try to avoid Polly's cab as best as I can from here on out! read more

The first driver we had was very challenged. Didn't listen to anything we said, I had to repeat the address numerous times and even then kept putting west into the address instead of North (3 times to be exact once he got the address correct.) Once we were ready to go, I called at 10:49 pm, I was told it would be 20-30 minutes until the cab could get to us. 35 minutes later, I called to check on the status as we were waiting outside in 30 degree weather. I was told that the cab would be arriving shortly. 14 minutes later, at 11:33, 44 minutes from my original call requesting the cab, our cab arrived. Our driver, Brayden, was very apologetic about the wait and very nice. Brayden is the only thing that Polly's has going well for them. Apparently several people called out of work and Brayden had 8 pickups scheduled at the same time. I would have preferred that the operator been honest, clear, and offered an explanation for the delay rather than just bs me. Polly's obviously needs to hire more employees like Brayden and less like the clueless guy we had earlier and the other several no shows. read more

Called for a cab, they said 20 minutes. It took well over an hour for it to arrive, I was able to get a family member to drive from Pennsylvania and pick me up faster than a place IN WINCHESTER. Truly a bizarre and awful experience. Friends and I called ahead earlier in the week to schedule to be picked up at our hotel and taken to a nearby winery 3.5 miles away, and then to be picked up after an hour and a half. Pick up from the hotel went fine, but when our designated time to be picked up from the winery came and went, we called Polly's and - literally - spent the next 3.5 hours on hold, without ever being able to speak to a person. I called several other cab companies, while my friend was on hold, and had a no-show experience with the company Taxis and Sedans, despite several follow up calls. Uber finally came through at about 6pm, 5 hours after we arrived at the winery. Luckily, the winery was great (James Charles winery) and there was live music, but it was not a good experience with Polly's. read more

The worst. Do not call Polly if it's below 40 out. You will freeze and still pay full price to continue to freeze. Estimated pick up time can be estimated by a simple algebraic equation.. "Pollys dispatcher time" x 2.5 = approximate pick up time. I have used this service 4 times (2 two way trips) and both times reassured myself "maybe it's a bad day".. The ride to my destination was great. The driver talked with me and was very cordial. The ride home however was a different story. The website states that there is 24 hour cab service. When I called they told me that they were closing at 3am, and wouldn't meet me at my place at 2am even though there was plenty of time. The cab driver sent me 4 texts within 3 minutes of getting there. I got out there as quickly as I could. When I explained this to the driver, he told me "Well, time is money, buddy." This company never answers their phone. Fifth time within the month they haven't picked up so honestly they are useless and rude. You might as well skip over this company and go somewhere else. One night we actually used them, we were to be picked up less than a mile away. After about thirty minutes we called them back, they said they were on the way. Another fifteen minutes goes by, still nothing. Called again about ten minutes later and had to give directions to our location even though we were two blocks straight down the road. The cab driver who finally picked us up was extremely rude. worst cab company in Winchester Va. Always late every time! Tells you 20-25 minutes then ends up having you wait an hour to two hours for cab, most places in Winchester I could have walked home from in that time. I gave 2 stars bc I have 2 experiences. The first was amazing. I scheduled my ride to work the next day (even tho the dispatcher was rude like no other) and the driver was here right on time the next day. He was friendly and prompt and I enjoyed the ride. So basically the stars are for the driver only. Call back that night to schedule ride to work the next day and the same rude dispatcher tells me we already have one scheduled for that time sorry about it. Like really? You only have ONE car you can't get someone else in? I'll never use them again. I found a lonely uber and paid $6 instead of the crazy price of $26 for a 2 mile ride. read more
