I have gone to Polo for over 30 years. They have done my dry cleaning, laundry and simple alterations. I don't know what has happed but instead of hemming my new blue jeans as requested they cut them, charged $27 for that. They ended up hemming them but the stitching is uneven. They weren't apologetic nor did they do anything about the amount they charged me to ruin my clothes. Stay away. read more

Gravy spilled all over the back of my suit jacket, some even got on the collar of my white shirt, too! The shirt I figured was already a lost cause, the neck hopelessly brown from years of use, but the suit was new(ish) and had lots of life left in it. Dropped them off on Monday morning, got a text Tuesday afternoon that they were ready. There was a "we really tried, but" tag on the shirt . . . but it was CLEAN, including the neck. And the jacket, that took the brunt of the spill? *I* could see a VERY faint mark where the drip ended, but no one else can or will. I consider this a 100% success. Are they more expensive than some other cleaners? It seems so. But it works, and that's worth paying for. read more

My husband and I have used Polo Cleaners in San Juan Capistrano for at least the last 8 years. We have entrusted them to clean some of our most valued clothing pieces. We always had a good relationship with the staff and never could have foreseen the outcome of our relationship at Polo Cleaners. Our family of 5 spends a small fortune on dry cleaning every month. We don't take advantage of their pick up and delivery services. We are locals and use that center for many reasons so we drop off and pick up a few times a week! Maybe once or twice a year Polo Cleaners comes knocking on our door to sell us "discount cards" to use at their establishment so we purchase the maximum amount allowed. The only part of the card we use is the 50% off and each card has 3. They don't like when you use the cards(which is evident in the reviews here) so why sell them door to door if you don't want customers to use them? Got me! For a while they have been adding these tiny heat pressed tags on my pants that I asked them to stop doing this because they were ruining the bottom of my pants and sometimes I cuff my pants and the tag shows. They stopped doing it for a short time but started back up again. When I brought my pants in to have them remove the tags after they admitted they did it on accident, they charged me to dry clean the perfectly clean and pressed pants! In the last few months they lost a beautiful sweater of mine but found it a month later. They lost a pair of my husbands work pants and never reimbursed us for them. In the last few weeks I bought two new dresses and each dress was ripped on the waist. I had never worn either dress and they tried to deny any wrongdoing but I would never take a brand new ripped dress to the dry cleaners, I would take it back to the store. They fixed the first dress and it's too small on me and no reimbursement for that. The second dress they fixed and did a horrific job sewing it(I have no clue who they have sewing their items) but again took no responsibility and did not reimburse us for this. So because of their mistakes I have to purchase two new dresses. My husband called to speak to the owner and his son and that was a huge mistake! These two have absolutely ZERO customer service skills, did not try to fix anything or admit to any wrong doing. They even commented that they don't like us to use their discount cards that THEY sell to US door to door because we don't use them properly but they also never told us this before and never told us how to use them properly! All in all we do NOT recommend Polo Cleaners because at the end of the day you want to go somewhere where you can trust that if something gets ruined or lost that their establishment will stand by their work and hold themselves accountable to do the right thing and fix what they did wrong. They are also extremely expensive, more so than any other cleaners. Also- they lie on this Yelp page where it says that everything is done on location, that's a lie because they send leather out and it takes 2 weeks. It was never a problem for us but just tell it like it is. Customers are what make a business and the owner and his son told us they don't want our business any longer over their mistakes. Definitely not our loss, cleaners are on every block around here. Bad publicity goes a long way, unfortunately. read more

My very expensive dress was literally ruined beyond repair by the seamstress. The only reason I gave them one star is because I didn't have to pay for the hack job. Although this cleaners is super convenient to my home, I'm in search of another dry cleaners. They're ridiculously expensive for normal dry cleaning...just some women's shirts. I also feel like they overcharge because my women's shirts don't fit well on their equipment because they're too small. They do get to the clothes dropped off pretty rapidly & have a text system to notify customers when their cleaning is ready for pickup. Just feel like I'm getting ripped off here. read more

My business is centered around the use of water in the morning and we can't work without water. We have been using Polo Cleaners for over two years and on a regular basis. From dry cleaning suits, to comforters and regular laundering. We have used most of their services. There have been a few occasions where we were overcharged, and there was an obvious attitude from the staff when approaching. There have been occasions where items have gone missing. There have been occasions where the seamstress has completely wrecked sinple items. With every fragile, expensive or important item, we have asked Polo IN PERSON, if you hey we're confident in being able to service the item. Most recently they accepted an item that was very old and priceless. They fully understood the importance and fragility of this item. They returned it at a premium with iron burns and new stain. When showing obvious displeasure, they offered to remedy the situation within a few hours. They delivered the item, with stains partially removed... And holes left in its place. Here's where it gets bad.. their response was,"Well, there's nothing we can do about it now." We mentioned that we will voice our opinion about our experience with their service. Their response, " We've been in business for 25 years, your opinion won't make a difference." I can understand if this was a discount place, but they are double to triple the price of anyone in the area. When paying a premium, there should be premium service that treats their customers well. This place has proven to be the opposite. Time and time again. Shame on us for giving them another chance. Others in our community have experienced the same type of issues with Polo over the past few years. Luckily, they provided plenty of recommendations in the area. All I have to say is that I think that they sell these discount cards to the public and then when you use them they try to tell you that you have to use them their way and not the way you choose . I will be direct and to the point. The owner is a complete DICKHEAD and has no idea what customer service is or how to run a business. We have been going there for probably 8 or so years at a minimum of 300 dollars a week so you do the math!!! I have these cards that they sold us and we use the 50% off part only which there are 3 on each card and after the 3 are done I throw the cards out and all of the other discounts don't get used! After 8 years of paying for these cards to use, and ripping my wife's clothes on multiple occasions and not taking responsibility, I decide to call the owner. I got him on the phone and he tells me I am wrong and he doesn't want my business because he loses money with the 50 % off cards and we should just part ways. I said ok have a nice day. Didn't take any responsibility for his staff losing a pair of my pants or ripping my wife's dresses or a few other mistakes they made. I found a local cleaners that is honoring the discount cards and they don't give a shit how many I have or how I use them. Best move I have done in a while. Stay away from any polo cleaners and please don't buy the cards because they hate them and they may just ruin your clothes to not get your business! I run a much larger business than his cleaners and I would never treat customers the way he treated my wife and I. I will say I was tremendously disappointed in the Polo Cleaners. It all started one day when an extremely nice gentleman from Polo Cleaners came around door to door promoting Polo Cleaners and selling VIP discount punch cards and on how great Polo Cleaners is. We were extremely interested as the discount punch cards saved you as much as 50.00% off your entire order. This made Polo Cleaners prices comparable to our current dry cleaning services, but the free pick up and delivery in the early morning made it a better deal and extremely convenient being the area in which we reside is very congested traffic wise. We opted to purchase approximately $160.00 in their VIP discount cards and signed up for their pick up and delivery service. It all seemed great till it took approximately two weeks to get Polo Cleaners and the driver to get on the same page, process wise for pick up and delivery. Then it seemed their operations team didn't understand or know how the discount punch cards worked. They never used the appropriate discounts on our orders resulting in us paying more than we should have. Please note above with a 50.00% off coupon their prices were comparable to our current dry cleaning services, meaning their prices are double the local dry cleaning services. Of course the price list we were initially given by the salesman differed from the receipts on my dry cleaned clothing. Lastly, we had a item go missing, still to date it wasn't recovered and they have no customer retention. When we decided enough is enough a month or so after starting services and canceled our account they didn't care to ask why. We gave them all the unused discount punch cards back and their bags and they didn't feel or find it necessary to make the situation right. I will be contacting American Express tomorrow to file a dispute on the paid discount punch cards since we didn't get the services we paid for. I would stay clear from Polo Cleaners. We had a nice conversation with our old dry cleaner and they were able to offer the same services to earn our business again thankfully. I should have never made a switch it wasn't worth all the headache and aggravation. read more

Their seamstress recently did an amazing job on a few pairs of jeans. I have been so disapointed by the customer service there. I bought a promo card for $40 that was suppose to save me some money on my cleaning, but everytime I would try to use the card there was a reason why they would not accept it. One time, she had already entered the transaction in the computer and could not change it, so she gave me a note saying that at my next visit she will give me $5 off. At my next visit she did not want to redeem the $5 saying that she orally mentionned dry clean only which was a lie. I can go on and on...There was always a reason not to accept the card that an advertising company they hired sold me for $40. Also, since the last review, the company sold and the new owner has put new rules in place. Their pricing are very high compare to other very good cleaners in the area and their griedy and rude employees made me run somewhere else even if I lost the $40 I paid for their useless card. Honnestly, find another place in the area and save your money. They really don't clean any better than any other places. read more
