I had a HP laptop computer that went dead. I called this computer repair service and asked him if he could repair it or replace the hard drive. He told me to bring it in and he would evaluate the problem. When I took it to his place, he told me he would check it out and get back to me later that day. He called me around 2 PM and told me the hard drive was dead; He would need to replace it. I asked him the price and he said 249.00. He could have it ready by 5 PM. I selected Doctor Polos Computers for repair to my high end Alienware 17" laptop. It was diagnosed to have mother board issues which were cost prohibitive for repair. The honest diagnosis and quick time for this were invaluable to me - he even did not charge me a fee for his time to diagnose and attempt a simple fix for my laptop. I also brought in another laptop for memory upgrade which he was able to do while I waited in the shop. His prices were most fair and even beat those on ebay too. I also was pleasantly surprised to find that he had refurbished laptops for sale at reasonable prices. Bottom line for me is that for any PC or laptop issues me, family, or friends may have - it's going to be Doctor Polo's for sure. I bought a refurbished Mac from this person. He had to install the Drive I had already bought from him for the computer I brought in for repair that wound up having the same problem after he "fixed it". After using the Mac for a few weeks the screen fell off and cracked. He would not take responsibility for not sealing it properly. I eventually took it to someone reliable and trustworthy to make sure everything was working properly (decided to use an external monitor). The computer had been sabotaged (the trim was disabled so it slowed to a crawl, the hard drive would not rewrite files and a mysterious password appeared that the new service person had to spend hours getting past and ultimately gutting and reinstalling from scratch. I have done business with Dr. Polo for the past few years. I bought a MacBook Pro from him, one for a family member, and within the last 2 months bought another used one from him and paid extra money to have a solid state hard drive installed. I did not have this computer for long, 2 months. I walked away from it and came back to a black screen that rebooting did not fix. I took it back to him and paid him $70 to fix it. He fixed it, and told me it must be dangerous websites I am on that caused this problem. I did not have this computer back for a full 24 hours when it happened again. I took it back. He told me that the computer has issues with "going to sleep." Said it must be large files I am downloading or I have to stop using AOL for my e-mail provider because it as causing this. I have been using Verizon High Speed internet for a long long time and their e-mail provider is AOL... Never had a problem. He said this could happen again at any time. Still charged me $70. Said he felt bad about taking my money but not as bad I felt about giving it to him. He has lost me for a customer. I will never recommend him again. I was told the diagnostic would be free , however my laptop was not fixed by Mr.polo . I explained to him that I would be picking up the laptop the next day and for him not to do any work on it. However the next day when I arrived the laptop was in pieces with parts missing . I questioned him and he became very unprofessional.
