Upon return to the vehicle the key no longer turned despite efforts by 4 different people. An auto mechanic was unsuccessful. The locksmith arrived at 8PM in a well kept and labeled van which was basically a mobile locksmith workshop. Our car was stranded in a fast food restaurant parking lot overnight after the key broke off the fob in the ignition and we were unable to reprogram a new fob. Called Paul's Lock & Key Shop for advice/availability as my sick grandfather was stuck at the hotel without his medications and needed to return home as soon as possible. Owner Jim answered the phone and immediately began to speak with hostility towards us, saying "are you going to shut up so I can talk?" and "I'm trying to do you a favor and if you don't stop talking I'm not helping you" as my mom was trying to relay information from him to me so I could follow his instruction. He also cussed at us, saying "well maybe I should fucking talk to her then!" When my mom was explaining the situation to him. It made an already incredibly stressful day 1000x worse, and I never expected this kind of customer service in Rochester. Especially where 90% of visitors are likely having the worst day of their life and could be met with a small amount of kindness. You never know what someone is going through. Will not be using services again and certainly will not be recommending to others/will be warning those looking for appropriate service to look elsewhere. Very disappointing.

Repair Key Fob Very Very Knowledgable About Keys…read more I dropped my Honda key/fob it stopped working. I visited my local Honda dealer for Repair. They took the fob apart and tried a new battery. It still didn't work. They told me the key was no longer usable and I would have to buy a new fob at a price of $287. I said that's too much. I went to American lock and Key and the gentleman there was very knowledgeable of what was going on he took the fob apart and he noticed that there was the chip was missing. He asked where I dropped the key and I told on the floor at home. He suggested I go back home and look for the missing part. Sure enough there it was on floor, very small and hard to see. I replaced the part into the fob. The key worked perfect. This guy is very very honest he told me there no charge it was the Wisconsin way we do things.
