The manager gave me Jon Nordine's name & said "he'd worked with him 20+ years, he was one of the most honest guys he's ever met, and he does great quality work". After using Jon for various projects on the inside & outside of our house, I couldn't agree more. He's a one man show, and a bit of a jack-of-all trades. Something we need living in an old craftsman house. He has worked on various projects for us...built-in-bookshelf, built-in bunk bed, electrical work, wall/ plaster resurfacing and texturing, tile work, sealing our windows, repair of ceiling after a leak, etc. He has broad experience because he does most of the repairs & remodeling for the apartment management company - I know he's installed cabinets, refinished tubs, plumbing stuff, etc. He's more than honest - I trust him enough to leave him in my house when I need to leave for work, etc. (And I don't do that with anyone else, ever!) He often prefers we buy supplies and then he charges us for just the labor, but we're usually too busy for that so I just have him buy the supplies. He's flexible. He's more than reliable - I've never had him not show or show at a different time. GREAT FIND!

This bathroom was a dream project for me, and hiring Brothers 59 Construction turned what should…read morehave been an exciting renovation into one of the most stressful home improvement experiences I've ever had. We paid $6,300 for a bathroom remodel that included vanity installation, plumbing and electrical modifications, drywall work, wallpaper installation, and finish work. What we received was defective workmanship, property damage, months of delays, and thousands of dollars in additional costs to correct the work. The wallpaper installation failed and damaged approximately $2,200 worth of wallpaper. The wallpaper removal and installation process also caused damage to the walls and baseboards. We were told the issue would be corrected, but instead we spent approximately two months waiting while our bathroom sat in an unfinished and unsightly condition. We later learned that the vanity had been installed improperly and had to hire another contractor to inspect and correct the installation. Had we not sought a second opinion, we could have been facing even more costly repairs or replacement. The most frustrating part was the lack of accountability and resolution. Despite requesting an itemized breakdown of costs during the project and throughout the dispute, none was provided. We did not receive an itemized allocation of the $6,300 project price until after legal counsel became involved. At this point, we have received estimates of approximately $3,950 just to remove and reinstall improperly completed work, remove failed wallpaper, prepare the walls, and reinstall wallpaper correctly. That does not include the value of the damaged wallpaper itself or the time, stress, and inconvenience caused by months of dealing with these issues. Some portions of the work may remain in place, but much of what we paid for must be repaired, corrected, or completely redone by other professionals. We hired Brothers 59 Construction expecting quality workmanship and a finished bathroom we could enjoy. Instead, we were left with damaged materials, defective work, prolonged delays, additional expenses, and a project that still requires significant correction. Save yourself the heartache, time and money and choose a contractor who actually delivers on their promise, doesn't gouge you and delivers a professional product.

Hired this guy to build front and back stairs and replace a rear door on our home. The wood used in…read morethe stairs was not treated and some of the wood used had pieces missing and gouged out. One stair on each set of stairs were pieced together as well as the hand rail in the front set of stairs. He bought the wrong door for the back and bought a new one which did not fit either. He cut the bottom of the floor and put screws in it leaving the metal exposed. The threshold was crooked and he tried to build a frame around the door instead of getting a pre hung door and frame. There were 1" gaps on both sides and the door was missing a hinge. Whe I told him about my concerns, his reply was "I knew you would be a problem". I had to buy weather strip to close the gaps and now have to buy a pre hung door and replace the wood on the stairs and line it up correctly. We paid him $2,230 dollars and now we have to repair all this stuff. DO NOT hire this guys unless you want to repair all the mistakes made. I can't upload the photos but if I did you would see this crappy work that was done.

I hired this company to do a lot of concrete. They did my whole driveway, all the sidewalks, and a…read morehuge patio slab around my whole house. I paid them over twenty-seven thousand dollars. It became a nightmare after they finished. The concrete was poured on , and two weeks later the owner came out after I called him about multiple hairline cracks all over the back patio. He looked at it and told me if it got worse, he'd take care of it. I actually have video from my Ring camera of him saying he would make it right in the springtime and that he wasn't going to leave me stuck with it. He even tried to repair some of the big cracks while he was there by putting some powder concrete repair on them, but that stuff washed away within a week. Four months later, those cracks expanded into over thirty spiderweb cracks running across the entire slab, connecting every expansion joint. The whole back patio, sidewalks, and driveway are now covered in hairline cracks and spider cracks. It's only been seven months and my entire backyard project has been stuck on hold. I've had to delay both patio covers, new sod, and all the finishing work because of this mess. My fence has been down this whole time because I can't put it back up until they fix the concrete. It's been a disaster. He's now claiming this is normal and nothing is wrong with it. They showed up to do the work, but he never pulled a permit. When I called him out on it, he left me holding the bag -- the city's making me, the owner, responsible for getting the permit now. He also didn't get any of the required inspections done like he was supposed to. During our inspection with the engineer, we discovered he cheaped out on the concrete thickness -- he put way too much road base so some areas are only two and a half inches thick instead of the four inches they were supposed to be. The concrete is poor quality, it's already starting to flake away, and I paid for fiber-reinforced concrete but there were no microfibers in it. He has completely refused to honor the contract. My lawyer is now involved, we're taking him to court, but he's dodging every attempt to make it right. I'm posting this review so others know exactly who they're dealing with before hiring this company. I strongly advise looking elsewhere

He came prepared with lots of information and documentation at our initial meeting. He was very quick to respond and he had an idea for the layout that no one else had thought of. Once things got rolling our project manager was Chuck and I can't speak highly enough of him. He and his team were very professional and everything was completed to our expectations and in some cases beyond. Chuck did a great job of always checking to make sure things were done the right way and if he thought it wasn't good enough he made sure it got done to his standards. He is without a doubt the best contractor I've ever worked with. As far as budget and timeline goes the only things that went over budget were things that we decided to change or upgrade. The timeline also went as expected. Before they even started they gave us an estimate but also told to expect some delays. We expected it to be done by the end of the summer and it was. I would most definitely recommend Empirical Construction for any project and if we need any work done in the future I'll be giving them a call.

Understanding the circumstance, but also willing to wait for the right team, I responded and asked the business to let me know if that changed in the future, as we have several projects in our home and are hoping to bring the same team aboard for all of them. I then received the attached response offering a completely different explanation than before. Rather than acting with integrity, the business elected to tell a lie, as the project was likely not lucrative enough for them. I made no reference to my budget, but the business assumed I would not be interested in paying their prices. I would like to offer a two-star rating, though, as the communication was quite prompt.
