BEWARE: The old lady lied. She said if I pay for the x-ray then I will get a copy of it so that I can use it somewhere else if I decide to go to another place for consultation. After they took the scan and gave extremely pricey quotes I decided not to proceed with them. Then the receptionist refused to give me a copy and also refused to email it to another dentist. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. You will leave with lost money, more dental problems and probably high blood pressure from the incompetency of this office. We took our mom to this office for consultation for dental work. They recommended few things to get done so we took their recommendations and pricing to do some research. Few months later we went back to get some work done with the office. We lost the pricing paper and did not remember the exact pricing. However, we were willing to pay whatever the amount to get our mom's tooth fixed trusting they are reliable. They gave us the price, said the treatment can be completed with one visit, so we paid in full with no complaints. When we came back to pick up our mom, they said she needs to come back for two more times because they couldn't get it done in one day. Fine, no big deal, THEN they said they will need another $500 dollars because they made a mistake on the pricing and now it's more. Now things are starting to look sketchy with this office. We said that's not acceptable because that's the price we agreed and now they said they made a mistake and charging us more ?! Then they went and said they never change the price and we are supposed to know the price and double check the document we signed regarding pricing ? They take no accountability with their mistakes and will put the blame on you when the person who gave us the pricing the same day we paid in full is the manager ? If their manager cannot managed to get pricing correctly, then how competent can this office be ? We decided to paid the extra $500 hoping as long as the doctor do good work, although very disappointed the way management is handling this. Once the treatment is done, the doctor said her tooth won't get reinfected again and she's good to go. IT LASTED ROUGHLY TWO MONTHS! Her teeth got reinfected again just like before. We brought her in and they said the treatment failed and now she has to do extraction. This was never mentioned as a potential risk when Dr. Nguyen suggested the treatment and he also said at that time her tooth doesn't need extraction. They offered to refund half the cost of the first treatment but we will need to pay for the extraction. HOW DOES THIS MAKE SENSE ? It was not acceptable as the office has gave us nothing but lies! Their words change every time we come to the office! We asked for a full refund and will take our mom somewhere else because at this point we cannot trust this office any longer and even the doctor who we thought we could. Of course as greedy as they are, they did not give us our full refund and so we left. Money isn't a problem with us but the honesty of this office is the biggest problem. They do not provide HONEST full disclosure to you regarding your treatment. They will make it sound wonderful to get your money and will not take any responsibility thereafter. We do not want anyone to have to go through the same frustration, experience , and losing their hard earn money to this office like we did. So beware if you decided to come here for service. We will be filing a complaint to the DCA regarding the matter and are looking into a lawyer because I cannot tolerate the unethical practices of this dental office. read more

My mom went here to have her braces done. Doctor Nguyen has done an amazing job in giving her a confident smile she always wanted. My mom's teeth was never straight as she had overcrowded teeth. With Doctor magic hand, in a short period of time, she was able to perfectly aligned teeth. I get my cleaning here with Ms. Banh, she is very gentle with her work. I like that she is informative and cares for her patient. We love the staff here, they are friendly and make you feel welcome. Highly recommended this place. read more

I'm shocked that this place has a 5-star rating on Yelp. First of all, the place has a horrible stench! I don't know if it's the woman that are working the front desk that have bad BO or why it smells. The ladies at the front desk lack customer service skills and common decency. I'm not sure what one of the girls name is but she is rude and incompetent! I was sitting waiting for my name to be called and these girls are talking sh*t about some girl they wanted to hire. That just goes to show what kind of people these women are. I have nothing bad to say about the dentist. He's great! But this place needs to get some new receptionists or have them get some customer service training courses. Be warned when coming here on what you have to deal with before getting treated. It's some blonde receptionist who clearly thinks she's as important as the actual dentist. You are giving the dentist a bad name. Such a shame that people have to deal with their horrible customer service. I really don't want to give this place a bad rating because Anthony is great! But I'm sorry these ladies are horrible. I think their name is Elba and Fabby (sp?). They also double charged me. Learn some math skills. It's called a calculator. Use your brain. To end on a light note, Anthony is the best! Highly recommend this dental office, I went there for a second opinion and was taken care of my issue on the same day. I was in so much pain and they made sure that I understood the treatment plan in detail. I get very nervous being at any dental office but they took care of me and made me feel so comfortable. I give 3 stars because the Dr Nguyen seems very skilled at what he does. But I feel like they want to charge you as much as they possibly can and when I explain things to the doctor he doesn't seem to care only about how many procedures he can do on you. The finance manager is a nightmare. Her name is Elvia I believe. She totally lies about pricing. I went 2 years ago and they quoted me an implant for $1,000 and I have the paperwork to prove it with their signature and then she tells me now it's $3,000! Crazy! And she lied and said they never charge $1,000. Yet I have the proof. The dr is good but all they truly care about is how much they can get out of you. read more

A couple years ago one of my adult sons needed an emergency dental procedure whom at the time was willing to accept the states dental/medical insurance. I was shocked to learn that 99 percent of the dental industry didn't serve the underserved and most needy until I contacted Dr. Anthony D Nyugen's dental office at Pomona Valley Dental. While there with my son for the 1st time I witnessed something that I hadn't witnessed in over 40 years.! Chair side manners and compassion. As the dentist was providing the delicate procedure his assistant stood right next to my adult son and reassured him that he was doing great. She kept him calm and relaxed. I knew then that i had been blessed to have finally found a caring, professional dentist and staff for myself as well closer to my home. I now a patient there as well. Dr. Nyugen, his assistants Ban and Quen, office manager Ms. Elvia and front receptionist staff are the utmost respectful, empathetic and caring staff that I have ever been serviced with. I've been going here for 5 years now. The staff and Doctor Anthony is very friendly and welcoming. I did my cleaning, deep cleaning, fillings, wisdom tooth extraction (3), root canal, and also braces. Appointments are done by phone and if you need to be seen then most likely you will get something within the week, basing off of my experiences in the past. The parking space within the building is very limited, but you can park on the side streets next to the office since the office is located on a corner. Overall, very great place to get your teeth taken care of. I used to be very hesitant and afraid to go to the dentist because of the fear of pain, however, my attitude towards going to the dentist have changed my mind. This is a joke of a clinic. We were told the latest appointment to be made was at 4 pm even though the clinic closes at 6. My mom left work early to get to her appointment on time, only for us to wait in the waiting room for over an hour. When she finally was brought back, I was told I could not come with her even though she does not speak English. I don't mind paying out of pocket at Pomona Valley Dental because I know I'm getting quality care and they are very sanitary, pleasant and make me feel warm and welcome here as if I was family. I have been going strictly with Dr. Anthony for about 15 years. He has treated me without insurance when I was a teenager to with insurance as a grown woman. He is now treating my whole family that includes my husband and my two boys. Dr. Anthony's bed side manners are amazing especially with me because I'm a chicken.
