Warning - Lemons Sold Here!…read more This is a repost. Somehow my post was taken down. This is what happend to me at this dealer. I purchased a car from this dealership for my son, who was heading off to college. The Cars4uTX sticker is still on the back of what is now a broken car. At the time, it seemed like a great deal--low mileage (61,000), no accidents, everything looked clean. But after just 6,000 easy highway miles, the transmission completely failed. In my opinion, the chances that the dealer didn't know the car was on the verge of a major failure are XZERO. Just Google "Nissan transmission problems" or ask any AI platform for an overview. AI Summary on Nissan CVT Transmission: Nissan's CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) has a well-documented history of issues: premature failure, overheating, whining or shuddering noises, and more. These problems often result in delayed acceleration, power loss, or total failure--sometimes even leading to accidents. Selling the car as-is is an option, but I'd be lucky to get a few thousand dollars for it. Fixing it and then selling it is another possibility--but honestly, unlike a dealer like Cars4UTX, I'd feel guilty passing a car with known transmission issues on to another person or family just looking for reliable transportation. All I can say is this: buyer beware with this dealership. Ask every question. Do your research. Don't expect the dealer to be upfront--they just want to move inventory. This has been a very expensive lesson for us. There are plenty of other dealerships out there. Choose wisely.

WARNING Lemons Sold Here, Undisclosed Safety and Emissions…read moreDefects, Dealer Misconduct, Emissions Tampering, Contract Pressure, & No Accountability We were referred to Cars 4 UTX/Alex & Sons for cheap used cars, but warned "be careful--they sell lemons." Our 2014 Mazda CX-5 seemed fine on the outside but hid serious issues. Dealer's own shop "passed" it for emissions, but an independent inspection found an illegal O2 sensor spacer (emissions tampering) and nearly $7,000 in needed repairs. Contracts were only in English--my girlfriend (limited English, first-time buyer) was pressured to sign alone. She put $2,000 down, and is now stuck paying $430/month for 5 years ($26,000 total) for a car that is not legal to drive. Dealer refused to provide inspection or repair records, removed the car from their website after our complaints, and never addressed any issues. We filed a DMV complaint; the dealer got to see/respond to everything, offered a vague "unwind" (buyback) but never put anything in writing. Once faced with real repair costs, he stopped communicating and tried to go through the lienholder instead. Bottom line: This place has a pattern of selling unsafe, misrepresented cars, ghosting buyers, and using procedural games to avoid responsibility. Documentation available to any agency or buyer. ADDITIONAL UPDATE: Title: Emissions Tampering, Odometer Issues, and Deceptive Inspections - Avoid Alex & Sons Affordable Review: Alex & Sons Affordable Auto Sales performed the emissions inspection for a used car we purchased from a dealer on the same lot. After purchase, we discovered a 12-mile odometer gap between their emissions test and the sale, raising serious suspicion of odometer manipulation and OBD2 resets. An independent shop found an illegal O2 sensor spacer (emissions tampering), multiple pre-existing safety and emissions defects, and over $7,000 in immediate repairs--none of which were disclosed by Alex & Sons. The follow-up emissions test failed within two weeks, proving the car should never have passed their inspection or been sold as roadworthy. Their inspection allowed a dangerous, tampered vehicle to be sold to a first-time, limited-English buyer who was pressured to sign contracts alone and with no advocate. Alex & Sons has not addressed these failures or provided documentation when requested. Other buyers report similar patterns: failed inspections, odometer gaps, review removal, and major financial harm. Avoid this shop at all costs and insist on a true independent inspection before buying from any dealer that uses their services. Documentation available to regulators on request.

I hate this so much that I've bought my last two cars from Carvana simply because I wouldn't have to speak to anyone. I find the stereotypical car-buying experience (new and, especially, used) to be unnecessarily stressful and taxing. Today, this has changed. When I found a slightly better deal locally than I did on Carvana, I took the plunge. From the beginning, Angela was super helpful and responsive. She didn't insist on talking on the phone and was happy to text details, which is infinitely more manageable during the workweek. When it came time to make the trek to Austin e Autos, Angela let me know that she would be off that day and handed off the deal to Isaac. Isaac is the best. Isaac put us through the paces of letting us test drive, then talking numbers. At no point did the numbers they advertised ever change. I came in with pre-approval through USAA, and they did not push me toward in-house financing. This has never happened to me before. They usually push that really hard. Once the numbers were agreed upon, we were handed over to Stephanie for the paper signing. This was equally painless, and there was no push to buy extended warranties, wheel insurance, GAP, etc, etc, etc. The numbers we discussed with Isaac were the exact numbers we signed off on with Stephanie. Incredibly painless, transparent, and honest process. My wife loves her car, and I am very impressed by the buying experience. If you're in the market for a used EV, look here first. All the stars. Thank you, Isaac, Angela, and Stephanie!

Sketch city. Seemingly nice and honest, I was intially impressed with this used car dealership. The…read moreprices were low, they assured me they sold NO salvage vehicles. The Corolla I was looking at was well below blue book and I just couldn't figure it out. The carfax was clean. Lino was a very nice salesperson, and I went for it. While I was finishing up paperwork, he proceeded to tell me a story about how he made a buttload of money from selling a car that he pieced back together that was totaled, but the engine was in tact. RED FLAG!!! As soon as I drove my Corolla off the lot, the radio went out. I didn't really notice that this metal door plate was sticking up in the rear driver side. Luckily, it was still under warranty and I took it to the Toyota dealer, Charles Maund. They were awesome there, replaced the radio twice trying to fix the problem. Finally, they looked at the rear driver side speaker and there were metal flakes in it. the Toyota guy asked me if it had been in an accident, but I had no way of knowing. Charles Maund Toyota replaced the speaker and it was fine, but I went over a curb yesterday and all the electrical went out, the radio, the clock, and the outlet. Again, the hidden past of my new-to-me used car is haunting me. Just like a new relationship, you really never know where your partner has been and what kind of collisions it may have endured. Maybe I shouldn't be so critical of Lino and 360 motors, but just a warning that those low prices come at a cost!
