Warning - Lemons Sold Here! This is a repost. Somehow my post was taken down. This is what happend to me at this dealer. I purchased a car from this dealership for my son, who was heading off to college. The Cars4uTX sticker is still on the back of what is now a broken car. At the time, it seemed like a great deal--low mileage (61,000), no accidents, everything looked clean. But after just 6,000 easy highway miles, the transmission completely failed. In my opinion, the chances that the dealer didn't know the car was on the verge of a major failure are XZERO. Just Google "Nissan transmission problems" or ask any AI platform for an overview. AI Summary on Nissan CVT Transmission: Nissan's CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) has a well-documented history of issues: premature failure, overheating, whining or shuddering noises, and more. These problems often result in delayed acceleration, power loss, or total failure--sometimes even leading to accidents. Selling the car as-is is an option, but I'd be lucky to get a few thousand dollars for it. Fixing it and then selling it is another possibility--but honestly, unlike a dealer like Cars4UTX, I'd feel guilty passing a car with known transmission issues on to another person or family just looking for reliable transportation. All I can say is this: buyer beware with this dealership. Ask every question. Do your research. Don't expect the dealer to be upfront--they just want to move inventory. My college-aged daughter needed a reliable used car and a week of searching Craigslist left us with scams and few cars to actually be able to check out. So we searched the used car dealers and we were most impressed with Daniel at Cars4UTX. The car we were interested in was at Firestone getting a tire fixed, so we came back later to see it. He put multiple photos up online and it was well represented. He actually invested in 4 new tires for it and provided the CarFax report. We took it over to Dave's Automotive for a pre-purchase inspection where they noted it would need new rear brakes. Daniel agreed to negotiate for a lower selling price to accommodate the repair. He was never pushy and seemed to genuinely care about our family's needs. I would highly recommend this dealer for your used-car needs! Editing in to add: 6 months after purchasing the car and investing over $1000 in repairs, the engine died. Two different mechanics said it would be about $3K to fix it, so we had to let the car die. I attempted to purchase a vehicle from this place recently and was disappointed with the results. While the price was good and the vehicle looked okay, the vehicle needed thousands of dollars of work. The good is that the dealer had a car fax report that did present the good the bad and the ugly. After studying it I had a mechanic look at the car while I harbored hope that even after more than a few owners, the vehicle would still be drivable without much work. If an average non-exotic car cost more than a few thousand, then it should not need work that is equal to or surpasses its original price. When the results came in from the mechanic, I informed the dealer of its problems and he little to say except for something to the extent that "there is going to be a few things wrong with used cars" and then told me the positives. True it did currently run and have a good transmission and engine. However, close to the asking price (1500-2000 dollars) are other vehicles (but with higher mileage) that do not seem to have as much problems. I was reticent to post a negative review, but then I spotted the ad for the vehicle recently and deduced that this dealer is still trying to sell this car to a dupe as though there is nothing wrong with it when I told him and even offered for a fee, to provide him with the full report of its problems. Bottom line: when buying a car from a stranger, it is worth the money to call a mechanic and have it looked at, than to waste thousands because a used car dealer, assures you it is "ok". A responsible/ethical dealer or owner (in my opinion) will have the "pros" and "cons" of a vehicle. If a person has a whole lot full of used cars in perfect condition than they must them very wisely due to their interest in their customer's satisfaction OR they are just exaggerating. read more
