I've been taking my recycle items here for years & l enjoy the work l put into it takes approximately 30 to 45 min two people for my recycling sorting the location is clean & the staff has been wonderful and they usually are always very helpful & honest although since the ice raids in my opinion for the same amount of recycle they've giving me half the amount of cash for the same weight, my last time l had my usual 8 barrels it usually amounts to $80 my last visit they' gave me $40 l was shocked & very upset to feel cheated . I normally take my recycle to Ponce because I feel like the pricing of fair and homes. The guys are ALWAYS HELPFUL and help me unload my sorted recycle materials. They're quick and keep everything moving right along. Sorting at then location if you have a lot of stuff can be challenging as everyone of course just want to be in and out but forget the timing,spacing, space and over all patience when everyone is trying to achieve the same thing, which is recycling getting paid and getting out. UPDATE YOUR HOURS! I tried coming here to take my recycling in today about 30 minutes before closing and they wouldn't let me. I drove over 30 minutes to try to get here since it's one of the few recycling spots that is listed as open at 5 but that's a lie. THEIR HOURS LISTED ARE A LIE. They will close whenever their workers feel like it. If you have to drive more than 5 minutes to get here, don't bother, they may already be closed by the time you get there. I peeked they the cracks and there were people in there (mostly homeless folks). I tried to flag the worker down but he didn't speak any English and just kept waving no to me as I tried to plead to let me bring my recycling in and that I drove a long way. Is it industry standard to charge and keep 45% of the CRV? First time. You sort your items into buckets then wait in line with guys who bring truckloads. No 100 items or less line. Ninety minutes round trip from Venice. Never again. If I wanted to make $5.95 for 90 minutes of work I'd drive for Uber. (My stuff will still get recycled. I got completely ripped off today (10/28/23). I went there with a bunch of glass, plastic, and cans, and I crushed the plastic bottles and the cans as well I thought I would have gotten about $130. I got only $63 dollars. I went there before and I did not crush the bottles at all and I got $100. WTF. They are cheating people out of their fair share of bottles and cans. I'm always here for recycling and helping the environment and reducing my carbon footprint. Luckily this place makes that process quick and easy! Got there right when they open so I could get a parking spot cuz that's very very limited. Make sure to bring gloves cuz the bins can be a little dirty to the touch but if u don't have those then they have a outdoor sink to wash your hands. First of all they are not called Stimson's anymore. It's called Ponce recycling. It's a very nice place. They are really professional and fast, it's always pretty crowded, but the line moves really fast and they don't run out of money like the recycler at pavilions on Santa Monica Blvd.... And I don't have a problem with the homeless people. They should have first Debs on all the recycling because that is one of the only ways they can get money besides panhandling which is very demeaning. But anyway it's a great place to take your recyclables. read more

this place is great. the guys who work there are really nice. they're also very helpful. they bring you bins to put your recycling in. they will also help you separate it, if you need that. they weigh everything and the total cash owed to you is automatically calculated. you sign a receipt and they give you cash. easy peasy! it might look kind of sketchy since it's next to the freeway overpass at Venice & La Cienega. don't let that deter you. the service is great. read more

A great place to recycle. The workers are very friendly and helpful. There used to be an alley that lead to a window where a hand would hand you money. It was later changed so no more spooky hand and alley. Parking is very limited and the place gets pretty busy. However, the employees are very good at helping you park or exit. I never trust the blue bins provided by the city that the recyclables will actually be properly recycled, so this is a good alternative to drop off your recyclables. read more
