This hike is perfect for summer because the trail is shaded the whole time, The heavily wooded Lye Brook Falls Trail runs for 2 miles through the Lye Brook Wilderness of the Green Mountain National Forest near Manchester. The blue-blazed hiking trail follows the bed of a former logging railroad up a gradual slope paralleling Lye Brook. Near the southern end of the trail, a spur will take you to the cascading 125-foot Lye Brook Falls, one of Vermont's highest. Parking is available at the northern end of the trail at the end of Lye Brook Access Road. The trailhead is located to the east of the parking lot. The waterfall itself is calming and tall.

The hike is ~3miles but is fairly steep oneway, that could make it tiresome for kids or adults with pre existing conditions. The view is amazing and also has a connection to Appalachian trail.
