It's a less than 1/4 mile trail through a swamp. It's is very disappointing. You walk less than 5 minutes and you have to turn around. Not worth the time to drive here even if you live in Dover. It seems not one dime was spent on this "dog park/trail". There are signs all over Dover Bay telling their residents to keep their dogs on leash... and this was probably their quick solution for their residents to have their dogs off leash. Walked through the normal park and even with all these keep your dogs on leash signs around, there was 3 sets of dogs off leash in the 15 minutes I was at their park.... so obviously it ain't working. Take a page from Ponderay and build something like their dog park and maybe your residents would be a little more respectful of your local leash laws.... just saying.

I see people's dogs pooping and the people look around to see if anybody else sees it happening. Only then does it seem like they pick up after their dog. It's a shame. I received a call from one of the owners. I was told that Maggie had a little blood in her urine. IK was told that she was eating and drinking just fine. We decided to see how she was in a few hours. When I called back. I was told there was no more blood. I felt comfortable after speaking with the owner. He said he would keep an eye on her. He would let me know if there was any changes. The pictures I have attached are what I saw after getting home with her, Needless to say there is no excuse for the lack of care and concern for my dog. I took her to the vet emergency office. she was diagnosed with a severe and painful bladder infection. I called and told the owner what happened. He was very rude and was arguing with me. They took no responsibility what so ever. BEWARE who you board your pets with. Completely unacceptable.

Access is from the Centennial Trail. The closest parking is on West Suzanne Rd or you will have to park at the parking lot for Riverstone Park and walk over 1/3 mile to this dog run. This public dog run/park is being used mostly by the tenants of the adjacent Riverstone apartments. Add shading, more seating and better ground cover and this is a 3 star dog park/run. Fixed the drainage issue, add a small dog run and better access and this could be a 4 star dog run/park.

There is parking either at McEuen Park or over by the Trailhead marker by Sanders Beach. Hiked during the week and it wasn't too crowded though some of the beach areas scattered along the way are not huge so you may want to get there earlier on weekends. The hike itself is fairly easy to moderate. The main trail is easy, however, if you go off path and down to the shoreline you just have to watch your step. This is a great park on the edge of Coeur d'Alene…read more There is a large play structure for the kids (although it's metal so it gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter). There are also numerous tennis courts. I've been told that there are pickle ball courts. There's also a large hill (wonder where it gets the name?) that is great for sledding when there's snow. There is also a disc golf course that runs throughout the park. It's a really great outdoor "activity center" with something for everyone in the family. Definitely worth checking out.
