Had a great first visit to this welcome new addition to the neighborhood. As much as I love beer this is a cool alternative. I'm only used to sweet ciders that I can only make it about half way through. The ones we tried were much more mild and dry. The sangria was very unique with a bunch of different flavors. My favorite was the pineapple. The owners were very friendly and able to answer all my questions on the process. I'm a home brewer and love talk about the difference in technique. The vegan circus pop up was set up at the Pondersoa Cider Co. just as one enters Auburn, CA. Maps app took us to the back side of Gum Avenue that's a "blocked off to car traffic" trail. I got on the phone and Ponderosa cider was so nice and helpful. Gave me a few pointers to come in from the other side. We made it easily. Parking is very limited. Again Ponderosa staff friendly and helpful in letting us know the space we squeezed into would be OK to park in. Dog friendly a bonus for us. I got a nice flight. I love a sampler pack. My favorite ciders were the "Goldilocks" and the "Peach Ginger." I got some of those to take home for my daughter to try. The "Trouble Maker" had a great flavor, but it's not carbonated. It was kind of like a flavored water. They had a few drink choices for designated driver. Biscuits for the dogs. Halloween candy for those who like a treat. . Found my spot to enjoy a cider on those nice summer nights! Stopped in on a Friday night they had the food truck and trivia going on outside. They offer outdoor seating in their orchard or inside they have some tables and chairs. The person working the counter was so helpful in answering all of our questions and asking us if we wanted to try some samples. Some of the options are pour by glass with others being bottle purchase only. We will definitely be back in the future. read more

We took a trip up to Auburn and decided to go cider tasting at Ponderosa Cider. We tried the Imperial Strawberry which was our favorite. The Cherry Yuzu was okay and the Macintosh was a bit too dry and bitter for our taste. Staff was friendly, store was cute and we just wished they had their pies available but they didn't have any that afternoon. We'll give them a try again in the future and maybe go on a night they have live music. read more

We were driving through town and wanted to get out of traffic for a while and take a break. I always look for breweries when I travel because it's usually a great way to get to know an area and relax. This time, when I saw a Cider co. I couldn't resist and we decided to mix it up a bit. We absolutely loved it! The individual who helped us was super nice, let us have a couple samples to decide what we wanted and was happy to make recommendations. It's a cute little barn type structure with a fantastic outdoor space (love love love the misters!) and they allow you to bring food onsite which is a plus! All of the ciders we had were just delightful and we ended up taking home a bottle and a 4 pack of cans to share with the fam. Had a great time exploring the wide variety of ciders brewed by the Ponderosa team. We tried the Fruity and the Staples flight and enjoyed both. Their fruity offerings are sweet enough to satisfy those who don't gravitate towards dry or sour ciders (to each their own)! Nice atmosphere: helpful staff, dog friendly, and they have a nook of cards and games to use. The actual brewery seating is cozy but their outdoor tent space means there's room for everyone. read more

Our experience at Ponderosa is always welcoming and friendly. Extra cherry on top when either of the owners, Ashley & Jon, are there too. Whether it is Jon, Ashley or one of the staff members, they are always ready to share with you which of the ciders are sweet, dry, etc. so that you can pretty much find whatever it is you're craving. The variety available is also a huge plus as there are usually a large handful of ciders on tap and different sizes in which you can take your favorite home! and in case you are wondering "yes," they do flights!! read more

I'm a huge cider fan. This place is very new and trying. It's a nice alternative to beer or wine. They do a flight so you can try their various options. Southern aspect and the Dutchess are average apple options. I had high hopes for the sangria. It's not at all what was expected. Note! It's a white sangria! Apricot, apple, lemon. You can buy everything in a can. I wish there was a blackberry cider or pear cider or more of a variety. All options are very similar. They are dog friendly which is nice. They have ample seating. I do love their merch area. I wish the sweater crop was just a long sleeve shirt crop since it's spring and in the 70s. This place is worth trying. Refreshing. Hospitality wise they are super great. Drove here all the way from Elk Grove. There aren't many options when it comes to ciders in the greater Sacramento area, unless you buy direct from a retailer. I've been a big fan and still am of Two Rivers in Sacramento, but let me emphasize, Ponderosa has just replaced them on my list as #1. I will make the hour drive to come here any day. The staff (1 person, at the time) is amazing and so accommodating. The ciders... left me speechless. All were so wonderfully crafted, I still can't decide which I liked best. If you are a true cider enthusiast (non of that sweet kiddy cider stuff), this is a cider worth traveling for! Don't take my word for it, go try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed. read more

We rented Ponderosa Cider Company for a 4th of July event, the evening before our wedding. The owners were very helpful when we were in the planning stages. We really did not have to do much the day of as the staff was super helpful in setting up and working to keep everyone cool with misters and a hose for the kids. We had about 80 people and it was an absolute success. Not only was the cider delicious the Thai food truck we hired was great as well. All of the children and adults had a wonderful time. We were even able to see the fireworks from the venue. If you are looking for a relaxed, professional and private venue, this is the place! read more

This is such a cool place to check out. Been to a lot of breweries, but this was my first cider place and well worth a visit. The staff was super knowledgeable and knew everything about their different ciders. I stopped by this brewery for the first time with my boyfriend. And it's our new favorite of Auburn! The hibiscus lime beer is my new favorite. The woman who was working, Marin ( I hope I'm spelling that right!), was so friendly and helpful. It's also located in a unique location near the western states trail and it was so relaxing to sit outside in the patio area. Very serene.
