What a great treat of a place. My wife and I took my mom out to try a few Placer wineries while she's visiting. Went to a nearby winery we'd visited before, and had a perfectly nice time and tasting. Wanted to check out one more, and saw PaZa nearby. It's the epitome of husband and wife operation. A cute little gazebo and a number of tables and chairs on a beautiful hill overlooking a small vineyard. Don't expect a Napa castle and 'chic' gift shop. It's perfect for a few friends or chatting w the table next to you. The owner, Zane, was amazing and spent a good hour with us, talking about his wines, the vineyard, and the history of wineries in Placer. But what was unexpected was how good the wines are! Most of the time, at local wineries, you're 'meh'. Good wines, but nothing special. You'll grab a bottle and thats that. But here, I actually REALLY enjoyed each wine we tried. His fermenting process is 'old-school' using huge clay (amphorae) cisterns vs stainless steel, and a variety of other nuances that seemed to really make a difference. I literally ended up buying a bottle of everything we tried (much to the amusement of my wife). This is now my new favorite winery in the area. read more

We did some wine tasting last weekend for my friend's birthday . I had never been to PaZa and it has been on my list . It's a beautiful property very relaxing. We parked our car and walked to the shed. It's a nice set up with chairs and tables . We did some wine tasting the lady that helped us was so friendly and attentive she would walk by to our table and give us our next tasting pour. We had an amazing time here at this winery. I'm so happy I ended up adding this winery to visit while wine tasting on the Placer wine trail. Their property was absolutely stunning especially as the weather is cooling down and fall begins. We were the first to arrive at their tasting shed so it was nice to have that one on one service and learn more about the winery and their grapes. My absolute favorite wine was the Tinta. It was a light red wine that was so smooth and delicious. I had to buy a case! read more

A little tricky to find but just keep driving on what seems and probably is a 1 lane long driveway / road that opens up to a parking area. Then stroll up to the super cute lean-to and peruse your options and order. Once your order is ready, you can sit at a little table looking towards the vineyard or some other tables by the order area or walk a few steps down and lounge on the wooden chairs s lined up under the trees that is mere steps to the vineyard. You can get a good look at the vines and grapes. Note.... don't touch. We tried all five wines. They were interesting and not your typical / common varietals. I would suggest bringing snacks and enjoying a little picnic out here. Such a lovely setting! read more

I really REALLY wanted to love this winery and I brought my group of 10 wine loving friends here! Unfortunately, we were treated with a lot of disrespect: a) because we came with a limo (which I communicated ahead of time and I have confirmation of this via email!) and b) we did not come "early enough" (Although we confirmed + approved this appointment time was ok). The person pouring our wine seemed irritated the entire time (no warm fuzzy chat) and during check-out, I was treated me with an attitude that is unacceptable! They did not cover the tasting fee (even with a purchase of 2 bottles) and questioned me on any of the above appointment arrangements. Also, my entire party only purchased 3 bottles (2 were mine: this says a lot about the wine!!). I will never recommend anyone to come here! Many other places to visit. Big mistake to come here. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I am allll about customer service! To add: Even if there was any miscommunication along the way of our booking, the staff could have handled this in a way more professional/customer focused manner. Such a great little local hidden gem. Out in the country just outside of Lincoln. You go down a gravel driveway, park, then there's a short walk to the little shed where the magic happens. The wines are nice. It's a beautiful view. Definitely one of my favorites! read more

It's tough for me to love Placer County wine, but PaZa is doing their best to convince me. Placer is new new world wine still trying to find the best grapes and techniques in a hot and dry climate. PaZa is a bit off the Wine and Beer Trail, but they are very unique. Parking is decent, but could get tight when crowded. The winery is gorgeous. You park at the main house and walk down a path to the outdoor tasting bar. Said bar overlooks the winery and the surrounding ranches. Be sure to look among the cute seating areas for the rattlesnake warning sign and the notice to not photograph the neighbors. The wine was pretty good on my visit with a small, but great selection. It can be a little tough on a hot day to stand outside. Fortunately they have several ice chests to keep the wine at good temperature. It does make for a fun backyard feel. If it's a good day, I recommend heading to PaZa for some al fresco vino. Their rustic and scenic setting is a nice departure from the hustle and bustle of Lincoln and Loomis. read more

Hats off to anyone that is willing to stay outside wearing a mask in 105 degree heat. My sis and I braved the elements with the promise of warming the spirits and the soul with a few glasses. We shared the flight for the reasonable price of $13 and were able to try 4 different wines. Wish I was smart enough to take a pic of the flight basket, but I guess that will be a reason to visit again. The property is lovely, with plenty of space and the wine is sure to be a crowd pleaser. PaZa was one of our stops on the "Holiday in the Hills' Placer wine tour (we lost count on which number this was but we are going to guess about the 5th winery on the tour). We were greeted by two staff members, only one of which I got the name 'Logan.' The drive through auburn was a pretty one with rain and all. When we walked back to the tasting shed we were greeted by Cindy who took care of us while we were there staying under the protection of the rain around the heater. It was here they also had winter squash soup which was a good palette cleanser between the wines. Will be here again for sure. read more

He and his wife Pam are the ownwes of this beautiful location. They start running since 2005. We enjoyed every moment there taking a lot of pictures and social media snaps. Beautiful location. Tucked away in Auburn's hills. The owners and staff welcomed us into there tasting area. We are from Napa area and have never had such a great experience as we did at PaZa. My husband favors full-bodied red and I tend to savor dry whites. There wasn't one wine that we tasted that didn't bring out the quality of the varietals. We have joined the membership club for no reason other than we love their wine and are looking for an excuse to come back. The grounds are beautiful yet private easy to social distance. Clean and yet romantic for me and my husband spending our anniversary weekend together. We so much like going to PAZA, it is fun to go there taste great wine and talk with the people working there. All are so friendly and talkative. I do believe the wine is excellent, and like their unique varieties, with a great new white wine too. We usually pick up a sandwich, in town, go there sit at a nice table, and take in the view, and of course great wine too. Try it too, it is fun. Drinking some PaZa wine right now so what better time to review? We were steered here by some fellow tasters at another winery in Auburn. They told us "you have to try PaZa, it's just down the road and their wines are solid" Well, they were pretty "solid" (thanks hippie chicks at Lone Buffalo) Definitely a different experience than your average tasting room. We pulled up to a beautiful house surrounded by grape vines but no tasting room in sight. After getting out of the car we noticed a small group of people down a dirt path, at a wooden stand, near the vineyard and made our way down. We were welcomed by the wine maker's wife Pam who explained that her husband, Zane, was busy out in the vineyard picking grapes. She told us that the winery name is a combo of both of their names, Pam and Zane, thus the name PaZa... how adorable! We tried all of their wines and obviously enjoyed them, as we having a glass as I write this review. I would highly recommend stopping by PaZa and enjoying the gorgeous surroundings and their delicious wines....as would the wine tasting hippies we met along the way. Cheers! read more

I absolutely LOVE small boutique wineries. The opportunity to speak to the vintners and try special wines is always amazing. I was so looking forward to the chance to taste these wines after reading the reviews on Yelp The winery is tucked way back off of the road and not easy to find but I was determined. Upon arriving we saw the "Tasting Shed" and made our way over, expecting to be greeted. However no one was around. The shed was open and a radio was playing but no one to be found. We waited to see if anyone would show up, no! We wandered around enjoying the view and two llamas all while expecting someone to show up. After about 10 minutes I realized that this was a BUST! Really love this spot off of the Placer Wine Trail - it's a hidden gem. Tucked away off of a gravel road, you find a little hut at the end where they pour the wine. I believe it's $5 a tasting (don't quote me on that) for about 6-7 pours, and there wasn't one that we did not enjoy. The owners are very laid back and the winery dog is friendly as well! We are new to Placer County. We've lived near Napa for over 40 years and have spent a lot of time in wineries there over the years. PaZa is a real gem of a place to visit on a Sunday, fall afternoon. One of the many wineries on the Placer County Wine Trail. I wanted to visit this winery the other day but wish the staff coordinating for the amount of traffic coming through was more cordial and better situated to address visiting patrons. The winery was so busy. Out of parking. Staff watching the traffic for the small one lane drive way that he turned me away half way down not at the beginning. Wasn't pleasant nor friendly. I elected to try and buy wine elsewhere. Good: didn't spend a dollar here. Bad: horribly disorganized, wasted my time, rude. Not worth my time. The other wineries got my business that day. read more

My wife and I really enjoyed an afternoon at the vineyard, and want to thank Zane for such a wonderful tour of the facility, and the opportunity to do some private barrel tasting with a simple, but nice touch cheese/fruit/salami plate. I'm excited to add this new and upcoming vineyard to yelp. I came to the grand opening of the vineyard and was very pleased with the wine they produced. It all started with the beautiful drive up to this very cozy personal wine experience. The property is beautiful with great views of placer and Sacramento county. Walking up to the vineyard you are greeted by George their terrier. As you walk down to the tasting area you will find the owners Pam or Zane pouring the wine or working in the vineyard. They are the very personable and you can see they take pride in what they do. As you taste the wines you can sit and over look the vineyard. I recommend bringing some snacks or a picnic to enjoy while you are there trying the wines. The have a sitting area where you can do so. They are open every weekend 12-5pm. The wine is amazing. You must go check them out and you will love the wine and chill atmosphere. read more
