The facility itself is nice, but I would strongly recommend that prospective members carefully…read morereview the bylaws before joining. During my membership, the club was dealing with a wall/fence dispute involving a neighboring property and assessed members an additional legal fee related to that matter. When I cancelled, that fee was deducted from my refundable membership deposit. The club later pointed to bylaw language allowing legal-counsel-related fees to be assessed without a member vote, which may be permitted under their rules, but I found the overall handling and communication disappointing. In my view, prospective members should understand that membership may involve additional assessments beyond the regular dues, including legal-fee assessments, and should ask for the current bylaws and any pending assessment information before signing up.

I never knew there was a swim club in CV in the area that it was in up until now. It is a hidden…read morespot - a small swim club that is really great for the residents that live nearby in the area. There is a private parking lot. You'll need a membership to enter the actual facility unless you have been placed on guest list by a member where at check-in, you'll receive a wristband. The club has a large pool, jacuzzi, tennis / pickleball courts, tables that are first come first served in shade, patches of grass where you could lay your towel out, and areas where you could reserve -- gazebo or BBQ areas. Overall, great place for those with kids. The place is very family oriented and seems like everyone who's there knows everyone. Great spot for birthday parties and other holiday celebrations. It's too bad that the marketplace that was within walking distance had that terrible fire accident. People have said that it was a go-to spot whenever they came to the club. Oh, and they allow for deliveries (aka pizza or outras comidas).

My son was one of the older kids here who didn't know how to swim, so he was self-conscious, but Pierre's expertise and guidance made him comfortable and allowed him to learn without judgment or fear. It was amazing to see him do several different strokes in just a few months time.

MH is okay overall. The tennis courts are nice and there are plenty to reserve from. The pool area…read moreis dark and looks like lights are not all functional. However, the gym needs some improvement. It is full of redundant upper body equipment but has barely anything for the lower body/legs. The closest is a large glute builder machine that is awkward to set up and use. You could use cables to do some leg exercises, but those are often tricky and require people to stand. What if the user is older and balance is an issue? Also, not everyone is skilled to use the barbells at the racks safely. There are no standard lower body machines such as the Leg Press, Leg Extension, Hamstring Curl, and Abductor and Adductor machines. By not having these, the club currently does not have inclusivity for people of all ages / abilities to work the lower body. Mission Hills used to have these machines, but since they brought in the excess of new upper body machines at the beginning of the year, the foundational leg machines are strangely gone. It's a basic expectation for a gym to include some lower body specific machines. The staff keeps saying that they have the lower body machines but that there is no room for them. Something about needing a permit from the city to put these machines in a different part of the gym. It's been 9 months now and still no updates. If they do have them already, maybe they could shift things around and at least get a leg press in there. I wish that management would have done something about this by now.
