Wow. If you are looking for a way to get out on the water this summer or fall, Starlight Charters…read morehas it all. They have three boats, Luna, Starlight and Soliel. Each one has a totally different experience. I've chartered Luna and Soliel. Luna is a huge sailboat that caters to larger charters in the 30+ person range. It's a cool Caribbean vibe and very tastefully outfitted. There is even room to dance on deck or below. Lots of white bean bag chairs on deck to lounge in with friends. It's like nothing out here in the Hamptons. Have it catered and go. The other boat I chartered to Block Island is Soleil. It is a Hinckley picnic boat that has that classy Hampton appeal and is super fast with a jet drive engine. We also went to Duryea's Lobster Deck in Orient point. I mean really? Does it get any better than that? I showed up in a Hinckley, had Lobster for lunch, then went to Block Island. Bucket list checked. Thanks for such a memorable summer. Toby the owner of this charter business is awesome and knows how to make it happen with his professional fun staff. I highly recommend.

The owner is as deceptive as his business practices, including fake reviews from friends , which you will find out too late should you proceed with him. In the screenshot, you can clearly see that Mr Toby Stull, owner of this business, accepted our offer on a brokerage and provided a special discount. This discount was unfortunately higher than the prices advertised - a rip off attempt. When we called him out on his skeevy practices, he then in a rage kicked our family off his boat. This is emblematic of how he runs his business. And I will note he spread bad words about my family around Sag Harbor, defaming his customers. We criticized his customer service and reminded him of our right to post about this experience which ALL consumers have.

We saw cute inlets we never would have known existed. If you thought the Hamptons are gorgeous from land, wait until you see it from the water. Capt. He was able to take 6 for a banana boat ride while 2 sat in the boat and took pictures. We had 11 people for the banana boat so he made 2 trips for us. Everyone had a great time from the youngest (5 yrs.) to grandma and grandpa. Keith was so accommodating to all the needs of our large group and everyone liked him so much. My husband and boys went fishing and caught a couple fluke. The boys were excited to catch a couple of crabs and robinfish as well. We paddled through the reeds and also visited the beach. We got very close to some beautiful white swans and saw many wild ducks taking off right beside us. Overall, it was an amazing experience. I rented a couple of Kayaks from here yesterday. The reservation was pretty easy to make, with…read moreoptions to fill out the waivers and pay for this in advance, online. We arrived 1/2 hour late, and they were able to hold our equipment and it made no difference in our reservation... 4 hours began at the time that we stepped out of their office. They have a restroom for the public in the next building over, which was kept clean and stocked. A gentleman helped us into our kayaks and sent us off. The river is beautiful, though because it's quite wide, you need to share it with yachts and boats of various sizes. This creates some waves, and they can be a pain in the ass. In general, people on the water are cool with each other, but there are some (maybe it's a Long Island thing) who feel so superior in their big beautiful boats and treat you like a pipsqueak in their way. As I was all the way to the right side of the river, while returning to the dock, a boat came up behind me. I turned around, looked at the guy driving, and he made a hand motion to say "move over to the left." I thought I was blocking his way into his dock, but he passed me by and kept going straight! Like WTF? That has nothing to do with L.I. Canoe Kayak Rentals, I'm just commenting on the experience in general. To add to the experience, there are some really nice spots with exposed sand (when it's not high tide) that you can hang out along and explore nature. There's a bird sanctuary as well... which wasn't really that impressive, but that may have just been my timing. When we returned to the dock, we pulled in our kayaks and there was no one present to help us out. A couple of ladies pulled their kayaks in, and one needed help getting out, so we provided that help ourselves. I wasn't so impressed about that aspect of this business, though I realize it's probably a lot to ask for them to have someone standing on the dock all day to receive people who are returning. It wasn't a cheap trip, but I'd likely return. I will probably check out some other places first though.
