Chris starts off good but buyer beware. He put a new liner in last fall while we were away and come to find out he put it right over the old liner and inlet and return jets. He used screws to secure caps right over them and now we have major problems. When he failed to return our calls, his girlfriend, who acted as his secretary, e-mailed us claiming we owed Chris money for the work he had already done, and was taking the money we gave him for a saltwater generator as payment. As a result of his shoddy work, we are paying thousands to correct what he has done. I truly have no idea how he can sleep at night. read more

BE WARNED. Chris seemed like a nice guy. In August of 2017 I signed a contract with him for him to paint my pool, fix the pool lights and do some concrete work. He asked for an extra $900 for the lights. I gave it to him. My pool is painted, I have no lights and the concrete remains torn out and not replaced. I have called him a minimum of 15 times and he has had one excuse after another over the last 6 months. He basically stole about $2000 from me. I contacted others (after he would not complete the paid for work) who had given Chris a very negative review on YELP and they all had burned as well. Be very careful. The right guy for the job!!! My wife and I just bought our house and it came with an above the ground pool, which was shot. It was a nightmare to find an installer for the new liner. I don't remember how I got his number, but I'm glad I did! He came and knocked it out, gave me a few tips that a new pool owner needs to know. He was a pleasure to deal with, and as a result in the short time I dealt with him I'm pleased to call him a friend. Chris did a wonderful job replacing decking in my backyard. We previously had 13 very heavy 6 'x4' panels for well over 30 years. Chris replaced then with smaller seamless 3'x4' panels which will be much easier to handle as well as to remove for cleaning any debris in the canal underneath. The decking adds an additional 4ft width in the pool area and is invaluable to the overall look and comfort of our outdoor space. Chris went above and beyond after the demolition phase, cleaning out and power washing the canal before he began construction. All old materials were removed and disposed of properly. If your project has anything to do with the outdoors, Chris will not disappoint. His rates are reasonable, he shows up when he says he will or will call you if he can't. read more

Chris installed a heat pump for our large, in-ground pool. He agreed to do the job even though we're located quite a distance from him. He worked us into his busy schedule, showed up on time, and worked efficiently. He really knows what he's doing! The pump works perfectly and it has allowed us to enjoy the pool even on cooler days. Craig re-plastered the inside of the fountain and replaced the pump and then came back and installed a gate valve to reduce the water velocity. Do not do business with this man, Chris Cash, or his company as he is a complete fraud and has stolen $4000 from us alone!! He gave us a fair quote for a spa to be installed in our backyard. He said he needed part of the quote up front to pay for the spa and I naively agreed. We chose the spa and he put in a concrete slab + did some prelim electrical work. 2 months later when the spa was supposed to arrive he called and said it came but that he "chipped it" as it had fallen when he was taking it out of the van. He then gave a long story about how he had to send it back but it should be here soon. Fast forward another month and still no spa. He then kept saying that it was on its way but had the wrong address. We eventually got in touch with the company who stated that Chris had ordered a spa (with completely different specs...smaller and not the right color as the one we had specified in our contract) but they were waiting on payment before shipping it. When we finally confronted him he gave another excuse and has promised to return our money. I do not believe we will ever get more than $1000 back from this man and will never receive the spa. We decided to buy a spa through another company who came out and stated that the "electrical" work that Chris had done was not up to code and was unsafe for the spa we would be getting. I do not really understand how he has gotten so many 5 star reviews, but definitely beware before putting your faith in this man to provide any high quality work! Importantly, if you google his name and his company from the East Coast, you will find that he has other fraud claims against him, one customer states that he stole over $28,000 from him and never finished the job he was supposed to do! He is a crook, a fraud and obviously does sub par work. I have been trying to work with him to get some of our money back, but he continues to give us excuses as to why he doesn't have the money or the spa. read more

Sorry Chris, but I have to warn others. I hired Chris to replace my pool pump with a variable speed model. Chris was way over his head with the technology - pump, controller, construction codes, equipment required. His delays left my pool out-of-commission for most of the summer (bigger jobs?). Even straight-forward tasks like piping had leaks. Finally, I had to hire a reputable pool company to get things working properly. It cost me $1,000+ to repair/correct Chris' work. Don't be fooled by a low bid from Chris, he may cost you much more in the long run. read more

This builder is the best I ever worked with. Built a pool surround, that is remarkably relaxing and a patio we love to sit on just to see the work he did. Chris helped me install a pool heat pump for my 21,000+ gallon pool. He did all the electrical work and set up a new 50amp circuit, poured the concrete pad, and also threw in a new breaker for my pool light that was corroded out. The installation was top notch, and I highly recommend their work. Regarding the heat pump, Chris was very knowledgable about how to optimize its usage. I had read that not many folks know that heat pumps actually will work in NorCal, and everyone is opting for solar pool heating. Since we already have PV solar panels on our roof we didn't have room for a full pool solar system. So we installed the heat pump on April 1 and we raised the water temp from 65 to 80 degrees within 24hours and we are swimming early this year. I have a little room for a few more PV solar panels on our roof later this year, and the heat pump costs will be covered with extra electricity we will generate year round. read more

So what's up with heat pumps in California? No one seems to use them or know much about them...except Chris Cash! I started looking into a new heater for the large in-ground pool of the house we purchased last summer and naturally wanted the most energy efficient solution at the best cost to purchase and install. We have many hundreds of square feet of PV solar panels on our roof so I knew that an electrical unit might be a good option (especially since I learned later that we're generating far more power than we're using). I called many (and I do mean MANY) individuals and businesses about installing an electric heat pump and everyone was either not capable of doing it, didn't know how to do it, told me it was a bad idea, told me it was too expensive and/or tried to discourage me from going that route. Except Chris Cash! In our first conversation and in subsequent conversations he answered all my questions with patience and knowledge. I've heard heat pumps are no good in California because "of the humidity" or because "of the temperatures" here. They are much more popular in Arizona and Florida apparently but Florida is humid and Arizona is dry, so why not here? Chris (along with the supplier) explained much to me and after more research I made my commitment to the electric heat pump. With so many PV panels being installed on home roofs here in this leading state for solar energy, I can only presume that more and more people will be going with electric heat pumps for their pools. As Chris said, in my case, it's a "no-brainer". Regardless of my situation, he knew what he was talking about and wasn't afraid of the heat pump. (I've heard different reasons why gas is pushed in this state as you can imagine but I wasn't willing to pay exorbitant monthly gas bills when I thought there'd be a better option - especially since I plan to heat our pool year-round.) Only after I talked to Chris did I fully make up my mind and I definitely endorse his work. As far as I'm concerned, he should be the #1 installer around here of heat pumps as their usage increases. Frankly I was surprised at the negativity I heard from others in this area surrounding the use of heat pumps and so far I've been perfectly pleased with my pump's function and quietness. I suppose some installers back off from heat pumps because they know little about electricity. Not Chris Cash! Again, he answered all my electrical questions (some unrelated to the pool heater) and did what needed to be done to get the pump up and running as soon as possible. Besides his able work, his price was good. I cannot believe the ridiculous estimates I received from the few who (very reluctantly) would install the heat pump or from those who only gave estimates for gas heaters. When he and his partner arrived for the installation (coordinated with the shipping from the east coast manufacturer with whom Chris is friendly) they immediately set to work including analyzing my pool chemicals. (Their company also provides regular pool maintenance as well as all sorts of pool, deck and outdoor design services.) They worked well into the darkness to finish up (his days are busy!) and cancelled another (social) appointment that evening to provide me the best possible service. They don't drink on the job (I offered beer) and hustle to accomplish the work. After Chris added the new pipes he sprayed them all neatly with shiny black paint to match the heat pump. A leak occurred in the piping and Chris willingly and easily fixed that. Also he later further upgraded my electrical to accommodate the added usage so that the filter, heat pump and sweep can all operate without overloading. (Of course he could've done that with his initial visit but with the late hour that first night the hardware store was closed for the necessary part.) Chris works with determination and good energy, always cheery and courteous. I would definitely call on him again for another project or need. read more

I warn anyone before starting a project with this business. I hired them to do a big pool/spa project. I gave them a deposit of $11,800 which was about half of the total project. After 4 weeks, excuse after excuse, and tall tales about all they were doing for me, I had nothing to show but a large "vault" for a pool cover. They wanted to call their east coast "supplier" and have me give him my credit card number for $6000 to order the pool cover. What happened to the deposit? Who knows. At this point I fired them and asked them for my money back. We came to an agreement that they would pay me $6000. After the due date I got a check, which, when I went to cash it, was bad. I have finished the pool cover with an honest person, and surprise! the vault was not deep enough for the cover, It had no drainage, and the electrical was never completed. These people are frauds who basically stole money from me, a middle aged widow. I would rate them negative stars if I could. If I can save you from being defrauded, at least my loss is not for nothing. read more
