I have been terrified of the dentist for some time. Kind of like the car dealership, you have a go-between who talks billing and insurance with you away from the nurse and dentist. It's discrete and comfortable without pressure. My nurse (dental hygienist) was Susan? Or Sandy? God she was an angel. She was so kind to me breaking down and upset and in pain. She made me feel so comfortable talking about stuff and offering anything I might need. My dentist was Dr Taylor who was incredibly knowledgeable and proficient. I got out what needed to come out and I even scheduled an appointment for regular maintenance later this month. I was made comfortable to be there, whether I needed nitrous or a valium, either are available. And they make sure you are physically comfortable with numbing. Mentally comfortable is hard, but true kindness shines through in the folks who work there. I got a kids "reward" (shark plushie) to hold while I had my procedure. When I left I got a "goodie bag" with full instructions on what I had done, extra gauze, and an emergency card. It's a little hinky getting in with the road construction on witchduck road. But soon as your turn on Grayson, by the church, it's there. There's an employee entrance on the witchduck side and another saying Ste 200 on the side, even though the dentist is Ste 100, this is the door you go in.

The front desk staff was welcoming right away and even thanked me for completing my forms ahead of time, which was a nice touch. The dental assistant who took my X-rays (I'm assuming that's what it's called) came out to get me and was super kind and easy to talk to. She explained everything as we went and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. After the imaging, Dr. Hernandez came in and went over everything they found. I honestly don't remember ever having a dentist be that thorough. He took his time, explained things clearly, and made sure I understood what was going on and had all my questions answered. This was just the first visit--they'll do the cleaning and anything else at a follow-up--but overall, everyone there was wonderful. It's hard for me to even say this, but I'm actually looking forward to going back. I told my youngest son and his wife (who are local and looking for a dentist), and they are eager to be seen by Dr. Hernandez and his staff!

My appointment was on a Tuesday I called to give my information on Monday at 1:35 and was told the the operations manger cancelled my appointment because my insurance needed to be verified before my appoint. Monday is before Tuesday last I checked I know that The insurance can be verified in minutes. So my questions was when was I suppose to verify "When she wanted me to? I work the same hours that they open and cant jump on the phone when she needs information being I think that my information is private and work in an office environment. When I made this appointment I told them the problem I was having and that it was painful so to cancel and not give me adequate amount of time to call in a day before seems to show a lack of compassion for potential clients. I think that this office needs to give a specific time that you NEED to call back before they cancel your appointment without communicating this to you, if I hadn't called I would have taken off just to get there and the appointment would have been canceled. Waste of my time and loose money. Mind you I took this date off so that I could make the appointment and be on time. If a medical office have this kind of rules I think that they should notify you when you make the appointment. I spoke to this location twice and was never told that they had to verify my insurance more than 24hrs. before the appointment each time I told them I would call them back when I could talk, I think a day before is adequate amount of time to verify insurance if not they may need to check their practices. So to the operations Manager find some compassion and understanding for the working people that can't talk on their personal phones while they are at work as I am assure that many of us can't get on the phone when we want to at work to discuss personal affairs. Don't forget that once upon a time you were where we are at. Compassion and consideration is important when working with the public and it's free. Nobody should ever have to be made fun of, shamed, and verbally abused when seeking dental treatment. This man has zero bedside manner and appears to hate his job or his life so much he insists on making others miserable as well.

Dr. Brady and his amazing staff are a great work family. As soon as you enter the office, you are greeted by Cynthia, the most kind and fashionable receptionist. She is always so wonderful at answering questions and is always completely on top of everything. The hygienist and dental assistant are so friendly and great at their jobs. Dr. Brady and the hygienist always remember what we talked about last appointment and ask questions to catch up on the last six months. They're absolutely fantastic. I started bringing our two sons as soon as they started getting teeth. One son thought going to the dentist was really fun, but the other was terrified. They didn't pressure him at all and let him take his time warming up. He didn't allow them to be very productive during that first visit, but their patience paid off and he was excited to go back for his second visit. Now he looks forward to going to the dentist and picking out a prize. My only tip is to make sure to schedule your routine appointments well in advance. They're so amazing, it's no wonder the appointments fill up quickly.

So I went to google to find me a dentist. I called 20 or so dentists, that either didn't answer or said they couldn't help me. They answered, and sounded compassionate and since over the phone, and said get up here we will get you taken care of. I drove an hour and a half to get there, they quickly registered me and go me into a treatment chair. Dr. Zahir came in shortly there after and got me numbed up, and then went back to treating her current patient....thank god. They did not make me sit in a waiting room in pain, I actually started to doze off, since the pain was gone. Dr zahir came back and discussed my treatment options, and the she quickly managed my tooth. I am so thankful for her and her amazing staff. Will definitely recommend to everyone.

After 30 days and not receiving my sons records the office Manager tried to make excuses regarding office policy as the reason I had not received my sons records. Office policy does not supersede HIPPA requirements. At first I was only able to recieve a few xrays which were also sent to a third party who was not included on my record request as an individual to recieve these records. The office Manager informed me that it was office policy that when records are requested to also send a copy of those records the the contact individual listed in their files, even if that individual is not the patient themselves. After significant back and forth with the Office Manager I finally received a small portion of my sons records but not the full file like i requested. Most of the files sent to me could not even be viewed. These files were sent to me at 5:00 on the dot when their office closes so I am forced to wait over the weekend in order to address the fact that I still have not recieved my sons records. I do not think the timing of that email is a coincidence. I have filed a complaint with HIPPA and have all the email correspondence and recordings of the phone calls with the office staff so that I have proof of the abysmal behavior of the individuals working at this office.

I've been going here since my mom coerced me into leaving our prior dentist. She started going here…read moreand was shocked at how amazing their customer service was, as well as how thorough Dr. Santos is. I used to love coming to the dentist (we all have our quirks, people!), until I had a bad experience at our prior dentist. I decided to give Smile By Design a go, and I love it (although I can't say I LOVE getting dental work done- I'm now a normal person that dreads the dentist). I've had filling removal & re-fills done, and I expressed my fear & anxiety to Dr. Santos, and she was so calm and patient with me during the entire procedure. That first experience I had with her made me feel totally comfortable and I trust her completely with my teeth. I think they do offer a lot of options, and some people are put off by that, but I'm gonna tell you- I bought that expensive Bluetooth toothbrush they offered me, and while the Bluetooth part is whatever (IMHO), my teeth have never felt better and my hygienist notices a difference in my teeth (which I totally believe!). My teeth feel like I just got a cleaning every single time I brush with it (which is nightly). Dr. Santos also suggested I get a soft night guard, and while my insurance doesn't cover that, I saved my pennies and got fitted for it. In summary, I do feel as though this dentistry has my teeth in their best interest, and I would recommend anyone going here! If you've had bad experiences at the dentist, be honest with them about it and I think they'll baby you like they baby me. We need it!
