Pretty good bbq spot. They have a lot of good bbq options Delicious rib sandwich also the old fashion one

3 meat plate. Brisket, sausage and pulled pork.

I find it difficult to enjoy BBQ from a restaurant because I'm constantly critiquing it against my own. This was hands down the best plate of BBQ I've ever had from a restaurant. Everything was consistent. Brisket was spot on for Texas style. Sausage and pulled pork both were excellent. Potato salad had a great mustard wang! Mac N Cheese was a little too runny, but the flavor was really good. They don't skimp on portion sizes or relish items (pickles, onions and jalapeños) Great friendly service to boot. Might seem a little pricey, but not really considering the quality. If you're a real BBQ fan, this is a must try place.

Working in the area of Wink and Kermit for the next few months and decided to give this place a try. I came in for a late lunch. The building is nice and there is plenty of seating. There is a small bar top with about four beers on draft. This placed seemed clean. I had the one meat plate with a mix of lean and moist brisket. My two sides were potato salad and macaroni and cheese. Pro-beer was cold Cons-The brisket was almost cold in certain points of a slice, indicating it was reheated or warmed. It wasn't dry, but it did lack flavor. I could not taste any smoke whatsoever. I recommend cranking up the oak and hickory usage since that is what they claim to use. The potato salad was mustard based, but it was more like mashed potato salad. The macaroni and cheese was lackluster but it tasted alright. They need to turn up the heat on their steam table because the macaroni and cheese was barely warm. I'd return to try something else as for all I know the chicken, ribs, or sausage could be good. I'll give the pinto beans a try as one of my sides next time.

    A great dinner.

I came to eat here for the first time on Tuesday November 19th and I was happy to meet some very nice people . My server was Isabel she was sweet and she makes sure you are satisfied and Keeps your drink full . She is very knowledgeable of things and she is kind and polite and she always has a smile on that beautiful face. People here greet you as you come in and you sit down and leave your worries outside. I had the three meat dinner and pinto beans and potatoes with bacon bits and a big class of sweet tea and a cold beer. And topped it off with peach cobbler with ice cream. I was stuffed. And today is November 20th for lunch I sat down and was greeted by Carman . She is sweet and friendly and kind and cheerful and she keeps your tea full and always checking to see how your doing. Today I had a pulled pork sandwich and a baked potato and a big glass of sweet tea. And again topped it off with a peach cobbler. So delicious. If you have not ate here I would encourage you to do so it is very good.

Best smoked chicken that I have ever had, great service and a reasonable price. $18.80 with a tea

Alright everyone, if you are within an hour of Kermit and looking for a great place to get some BBQ, this is it. Many places these days are afraid to add too many seasonings or spices to their food, leaving it bland and boring, but you won't find that here. They've got flavor, and they aren't afraid to flaunt it. Here's what we had: Sausage - 5 stars, great flavor, great sauce, top notch stuff all around. Potato Salad - 4.25 stars, excellent taste, we did add a little pepper to satisfy our own personal preference for a high dose, but even without it, some great flavors there and some of the best we've had lately. Beans - 3.5 stars, definitely not your "open a can and serve" beans - they spent some time on them, and there was some good flavor. Probably the only thing that had much of any room for improvement, maybe they could add some bacon or something, but even without that, they are quite tasty. Cole Slaw - 5 stars. Hands down some of the best we've had. Great flavor and again no skimping on the spices here. A little different looking than you might expect, but once you take a bite, you will know you made a great choice. Overall atmosphere - 5 stars. We loved the giant US and Texas flags and all the college flags hanging around the restaurant. The indoor/outdoor feel is very nice and makes the place feel more like you are in your backyard cooking barbecue, which I am sure was the desired effect. Service was about as expected for the time we came this go-round. We came right in the middle of the lunch rush, and they were pretty well packed, so wait times were understandably slightly long, but everyone was on task and doing their best to keep up. We can't mark them down for it since the other 2 times we each came solo outside of the lunch rush, service was quite speedy. They even offer a military discount, which is definitely appreciated. Overall, we give the place a 5-star rating and are so happy to have it in our home town. We will be back - often. If you have not checked it out yet - you should as soon as you can; you are missing out.

Old Fashion Grilled Cheese- Mac and cheese grilled cheese, and "old fashion" meat. So good!

Great place but a little pricey. Seems a bit excessive too be charging as much as they do for such small portions.

What a great place for tamales!…read more The outside of the building looks like a strange place to have such a wonderful restaurant. But inside it's clean, smells delicious, and has very friendly staff. The tamales and bowls were delicious! This is a hidden gem that is worth the stop or drive.

17 years ago on our road trip and not much around, we happened upon La Nortena Tamale Factory in…read morethe blink of an eye and you've passed it town of Pecos Texas. Fast forward to Instagram, Yelp, social influencers and now this tamale factory and city are even more well known and loved. So with another road trip from Las Vegas to San Antonio we had to stop here and get some tamales. I have a few tips for you. They are closed on Mondays and if I'm not mistaken most days they are closed by 2 or 3 PM. Their website to pre-order is great. I ordered the night before to make sure my tamales were available. We were staying in Carlsbad, New Mexico and the drive time is an hour and 30 minutes. I totally forgot about the time change switching states. I called La Nortena as I started my drive and requested they changed my pick up time for an hour later than I had originally requested. They were so accommodating and helpful. I love that they open super early because we were on the road and there by 10am Texas time. We decided to walk in to pick up our order. They have an order line and a pick up line but there was only one girl manning the order line. It went pretty quick and they got our stuff really fast. They do not offer any bathrooms as this is just a pick up and go so if you're traveling you'll have to find somewhere else. The tamales were as delicious as I remembered them. The masa isn't super thin and isn't super thick. This isn't your regular masa. You can literally see the love that went into them making this masa special. I pre-ordered the mix dozen which comes with half green and half red. If you prefer more or less or another type of tamale they offer (others aren't always available) then just place the request in the comments box of your order. Both red and green are a bit spicy, moist and have awesome flavor. This was our breakfast and they were piping hot. I could barely hold them to hand them to my son in the backseat. I love that they were so hot. Delicious and my son said that they were the best tamales he had ever eaten. Pecos Texas is not that blink and you pass it kind of town anymore. It's rather cute with artistically painted Texas boots all throughout the city. I love social media because it really shows you all the things that you can find in the city from it having the world's first rodeo to history with Pecos Bill, this is definitely a stop to make and enjoy the city as well as the incredible tamales.
