I called for them to unlock the car and make a key due to my son losing his keys. The guy came out unlocked the care but couldn't make the key said he would be back. He didn't come back until the next day. No phone call letting me know what was happening. He gave me the key, but charged me a lot more than what was quoted on the phone. If they are going to us AI for quotes they need to make sure it is accurate. If I could give less stars I would. I will never use these people again. read more

Totally tried to scam my wife. She called and was quoted a price and said they would be there with 25-30 mins. She called back and was lied to and was told the locksmith had tried to call her several times, not true, no missed calls, and he was now with another customer. 25 minutes wait. After 30 more minutes locksmith called and said he had fell asleep and was just waking back up and it would now be double the cost initially stated. Totally unprofessional, totally crooked. This man was there early. I had a key problem and had to have my car towed to my mechanic. He knew right where it was. He communicated with my mechanic and within minutes had a solution to remedy my car. He was easy to talk to, although I knew he was busy. He treated me with regard even though I am a lady. When the car is up and running, I will be purchasing a fob that works and extra keys. I'll never use anyone else. Thanks so very much for your help. read more

I used the roadside assistance app with my insurance company. Pop a Lock called me five minutes later and said they were on their way. The young man drove from Chickasaw to Semmes, and made it to me in less time than the insurance company said it would take. He went right to work and I had my keys in less than a minute. I read some of the reviews before he got here, and I was not sure what to expect. The results didn't resemble any of the negative comments I had read. They were on time and very professional. Absolutely horrible! I locked my keys in my car and called for a pop-a-lock and gave them all of my information. They said it would be 30-40 minutes. 45 minutes later I called them again and they said they would call the guy that was coming to unlock my car. An 15 minutes I called again and they said the phone number they recorded was wrong and they would update it and said he was 5 minutes away. I called again 15 minutes later and they said that it still wasn't fixed and they updated it, and hung up! Then the man coming called me and said he was at another job decently far away from me and would call when they were on the way. Still haven't heard back 2 hours into this whole thing. read more

We called for help getting into our locked car. They quoted us 45 minutes originally. We called an hour later to ask how far away they were. They said someone was close and on the way. Another half hour passed and we called back. They assured us someone was on the way. We waiting another half hour. Finally, we just called somewhere else to get help. They never bothered to show up or call. Not sure why you would quote 45 minutes if you had no intention of ever coming to provide any assistance. Would not recommend this company to anyone! Absolutely terrible customer service with zero accountability to actually show up and do anything. read more

I called pop a lock for a new key to be made for my 99 Toyota Camry. It is a simple key that does have a chip, I would guess it's probably a $50 job. They quoted me $495 for this. I had previously lost this key, and got it remade by a different locksmith. The other locksmith service included getting me into my locked car, and rekeying the ignition such that it matched the external doors of the car, and making me a new key. The other locksmith charge me $300 for that. Pop a lock is quoting me $495 for significantly less service then the other locksmith gave me. I would not use their service. read more

I am very disappointed in this service. I called and they took my info for the locksmith to call me back. He never did. I ended up going with Imperial Locksmith in Mobile Alabama. They were there in less than an hour and did the job for $30 less. I am sorry to say that Pop-a-Lock has earned their 1 star rating. To be honest, I will never use them again. read more

Do not ever call this company. I called at 6:45 or so on a Friday evening and was told that someone would be there in 35-40 minutes. I was asked for a contact number and told the dispatcher that my phone was in my apartment along with my keys. I explained exactly where I was located, and she again stated that someone would be there in 35-40 minutes. An hour and a half later they still had not arrived. I contacted my son and he called them, and they explained that the call had been cancelled due to no contact number. They said they would have someone there in 35-40 minutes. They still had not arrive an hour later so my son called them back and they said they would be there. Approximately 20 minutes later they called him back and said they wouldn't be able to be there until 8am on Saturday. I called another locksmith and they were there in 10 minutes. On Monday I called hoping to speak with the manager and was routed to a dispatcher who gave me a number of a local locksmith that wasn't even PopALock. He said that PopALock was just a referral service that adds cost to the service for their referral and he was not associated with them in any other way. They take no responsibility for their incompetence. If you need a locksmith call a local one not PopALock. read more
