Dan came and met us at the venue, as they had never played there to make sure we had everything we needed.

Hal was amazing to work with at an event where we needed audio set up in a cafe. He was incredibly…read moreresponsive and well priced for the level of service we got. Look forward to using him again for our next sf event!

I'm always skeptical of 1-star reviews, but I'm unfortunately not making any of this up. We hired…read moreHal for a relative's funeral. He got drunk on the job and crashed his truck at the venue. He refused to take a taxi home until the cops told him he'd be arrested if he tried to drive his truck away. He has not refunded our deposit. DO NOT HIRE. Things started off fine. The business owner and sole employee, Hal Rowland, showed up on time with the agreed equipment. He worked with me to set it up for the funeral. After making sure I was happy with the setup, he left (as agreed) for a few hours during the funeral. If the same Hal had then picked up his gear, all would have been well. In fact, he would have probably gotten some extra payment because the funeral ran long. Instead, Hal returned with alcohol on his breath, barely able to stand. We discovered this after he drove his truck over an obvious barrier/dropoff in the parking lot. While we waited for the tow truck, Hal said he'd had "a few" drinks but he'd driven "thousands of miles drunk and high" with no issues. This did not persuade us to let him drive off once his vehicle was dislodged. Hal wasn't happy about that. He got increasingly belligerent with my brothers-in-law, who repeatedly offered to call him a taxi as they kept him from falling over. He refused and challenged us to call the cops instead. Eventually we did. While we waited for them, he finally said he'd take a taxi. We called one. The police arrived, followed by the taxi. Hal got into the taxi and we loaded up his gear for him. It's a good thing the police stayed nearby because Hal evidently got the taxi driver to pull over by his truck. At this point the police told him to choose between taxi or jail. Hal chose the taxi, offering a baleful apology as he departed. A good half-dozen of us (mostly close relatives of the deceased) missed part of the service, the entire lunch, and a bunch of strike and setup that needed to happen for the next part of the day. And if someone had been walking through the parking lot at the wrong moment, Hal could have killed them. Four days later, we've received absolutely zero follow-up or communication from him as well as zero refund. (He said day-of that he would refund us, though I doubt he remembers it due to his inebriated state.) None of this is exaggerated or fabricated. I hope Hal gets the help he obviously needs, and I hope anyone reading this finds someone else for their event.
