My sister took me here and it did not disappoint. Pure nostalgia here at Grandpa Joe's. Reminded me of an old five and dime store with an awesome selection of candies and sweets from mt childhood. Along with a modern selection and all kinds of sodas and novelties to purchase. Candy cigarettes, Pop Rocks, Fun Dip, rock candy, Chick o Sticks, Pez, candy bars, Nik L Nips, old time gum brands, and so much more. Yes, its like being a kid in a candy store! Good prices and I walked out with a bag of sweets. Open late so after a few drinks or dinner at spots close by its located right in the square at the Ocala downtown entertainment district for an easy walk over. Friendly helpful people work here too. Oh, and they have a $5 candy buffet in the back of the place with a terrific selection to pack your box with.

Then the other side of the store is where the deals are and the reason they are on sale here is because about 95% of the items are expired some by a few weeks some by months and even some by over a year now I'm not sure how they could be selling things that are that expired like honestly a few days or so isn't gonna hurt you but over a year is a bit sketchy even for me! We did search through a ton of the chocolate in here and we did find a few items that aren't past their dates yet and let's just say it wasn't easy to find that! Overall check your dates before you buy anything from here and for that reason I'd doubt I'd ever come here again as I can get better chocolate elsewhere for a fraction of the price that they are selling their mid product for!

I can appreciate older times and then today's times the staff was friendly. The clerk was undeniably charming he even offered me samples to taste of the goat milk fudge just because I was so excited to be there . I've always wondered what goat milk fudge tasted like and out of the blue one day I just stopped in and it was amazing. It took me back to my childhood, the unique toilet paper and toilet paper holders was nostalgic , old-fashioned handmade candies and ice cream, toffees and taffy the while experience was wonderful if you're ever in the Polk County area stop by have some try it the experience you will never forget it was unbelievable. As soon as I walked inside the shop, I could smell the chocolate, caramel, and the freshly popped popcorn! It's a class sweet shop. The shop has a variety of treats which are made fresh on site! Glass classes are filled with hand dipped caramel apples, massive Mickey shaped marshmallow wands, fudge in rotating flavors, and other items like crispy rice treats coated in themed sprinkles! You can actually watch the candy makers behind large windows which is so much fun! The Confectionary also introduces seasonal and limited edition treats that tie in holidays, park celebrations, and special events. There are a lot of prepackaged candies as well, and exclusive popcorn mixes, and even themed chocolate bars that you can purchase! I actually ended up getting a frozen lemonade mix from the Main Street Confectionary. It was a nice warm day in October and it was a perfect refresh drink to enjoy at a bench in Main Street U.S.A. The store does accept Disney's annual pass for a discount! The team members are fantastic!
