This place is huge. Lots of different types of candy. They have a whole room dedicated just to sugar-free candy. The back rooms have 50 to 60% off candy. They have a ice cream sundae area oh my gosh, it has the best fudge and ice cream I've ever had in my life. I wish this place was closer. I would go more often. This place is amazing. If you want to get holiday gifts, they have tons of discounted holiday gifts in the back. I would recommend this place to anybody who loves chocolate and candy. read more

Being misled right from the start screams coming here as it seems as if we were just a few days, weeks, or even years too late to get some chocolate! So their store the first nicer section is basically all their candy at normal prices we really didn't see much here that was discounted at all as it was just standard retail. Then the other side of the store is where the deals are and the reason they are on sale here is because about 95% of the items are expired some by a few weeks some by months and even some by over a year now I'm not sure how they could be selling things that are that expired like honestly a few days or so isn't gonna hurt you but over a year is a bit sketchy even for me! We did search through a ton of the chocolate in here and we did find a few items that aren't past their dates yet and let's just say it wasn't easy to find that! Overall check your dates before you buy anything from here and for that reason I'd doubt I'd ever come here again as I can get better chocolate elsewhere for a fraction of the price that they are selling their mid product for! read more

While traveling on the way to Orlando from Ocala, I noticed the huge sign advertising a Russell Stover store. I didn't even know there was such thing so I had to make the stop. When walking in no one greeted us or explained the layout of the store. In the front was glass cases of chocolates. Behind the cases there was many aisles of chocolates that were grouped. Groups ranged from sugar free, to holiday, to different types of chocolate flavorings. I was under the impression that there would be good sales but there was not. There was a large warehouse room next to the main room that was the discounted room. I believe everything I looked at was expired. Not expired by like a week or two, but expired my 6+ months. I was in shock. I would not purchase anything expired. Plus the prices on expired items were still very steep. When leaving we same employees passing out free chocolate samples but we did not get offered that. I wouldn't be back. read more

I definitely believe this is a hidden gem in Florida. When I came in to this Russell Stover's, I was not expecting it to have two different rooms filled with different candies that Russell Stover sells in convenience stores. One room was styled like a gift shop, and the other room was more of an outlet setting very basic walls, but filled to the roof with candy. My mother and I were touring around the Ocala area on a Sunday afternoon when we came across Russell Stovers. Now, neither of us had ever been to this place, but we assumed that it was an actual factory, and were hoping for a tour of a chocolate factory. Oh, that would have been glorious. Sadly, it is just a distribution point for the chocolate company. Nothing bad about that... we were just disappointed that our concept of what the place was had been dashed. We wandered around the entire building, had a free sample of some very nice mint chocolates that reminded me of After 8's from when I was a kid, considered buying one of the "Mistakes" boxes that were very reasonably priced, but then I settled for a simple single scoop ice cream cone (waffle cone, of course!) which we both enjoyed out on the patio. Would we go back? Sure, if we needed to buy some chocolate. Heck, next time I am traveling through the area I am probably going to pick up one of those mistake boxes... we didn't this time around because we knew we were going to be out and about for a couple more hours, and the heat of the day would do disastrous things to the chocolate. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! I love a good chocolate covered marshmallow treat. I grew up with Russell Stover and Whitman samplers. There's a certain nostalgia and it makes me think of my Nana. If you miss your Nana or Bubbe come here, it's close to the Villages and you'll see a lot of other people's grandparents shopping for sweets! Sign up for their rewards program. It's free and after two trips they gave me a beautiful box of chocolate we could easily gift. If you're traveling up to Gainesville or Tallahassee or headed to Orlando this is a great place to stop. Ample parking, clean and spacious restrooms and lots of tables to enjoy your ice cream. Yes, they have ice cream! Cones, sundaes, milkshakes. They'll let you sample too! When you first come in check the counter, there are always a chocolate or candy they're sampling. As well as the candies made in house like chocolate covered pretzels, turtles, caramel apples, fudge. Today they had strawberries covered in dark, milk and white chocolate. The main store is going to have all the usual chocolates you'll see at Walgreens and the like. However they have an expansive sugar free section and Millionaires. For those that did not grow up in Texas or the surrounds, Pangburns Millionaires are these wonderful pecan/caramel clusters covered in chocolate. Buy a bag or two. Then there will be seasonal aisles. I'm a sucker for the foil wrapped turkeys. They're just so beautiful on a Thanksgiving table. Then head into the warehouse you'll find chocolates and candy that is from Valentines Day, Christmas and Halloween. The prices here start by the proximity of the holiday. I have found wonderful deals in here. Especially on the oops chocolates that have been wrapped incorrectly or just don't meet the standard shape or size. It's a dangerous place I have never made it out without spending at least $40. Russell Stover's is decent candy but not top-tier. The attraction tot his place, however is theyare a factory outlet where you can get candy from previous holidays at greatly discounted prices. They also have boxes of factory flaws. These's are candies that don't quite meet spec for regular sale, but are still very good and they are deeply discounted. (Notice the theme.). They have ice cream too. It's not very good. But a great place is stock up on lots of chocolate at a decent price. I am shocked by the treatment my daughter and received at this Russell Stover location. While trying to pay for ice cream, we were confronted by a staff member pushing a chocolate cart. My daughter is Autistic and wears headphones for sensory regulation. Despite moving out of the staff member's way immediately upon noticing her, this employee decided to stop and yell at us vs asking nicely. She shouted at me regarding my daughter's headphones and made deeply personal, offensive comments, including calling her a "terrible child who should not be wearing headphones." It was a hostile and unnecessary confrontation. To make matters worse, she would not shut up despite my silence, I told her to shut the f up already and we left. When I called the store to speak with the manager, they were absolutely no help. They protect their own staff even when they are completely out of line. To make matters worse, they gave me a 1-800 number to complain that was not even correct. This store needs to train its staff on basic human decency and disability awareness, and management needs to take customer complaints seriously. We will not be back. read more

I swear I had written a review for Russell Stover before! I have been stopping at this store for 30 years! My grandparents lived in the Villages a long time ago and this was a must stop when I was a teenager. They have a outlet section with previous holiday candies slashed in pricing- every kids dream! I was sure to introduce my kids to this place as well and even stopped here with my Boy Scout troop one year when returning from summer camp (not my best idea- herding cats was easier). Every once in a while, since moving to Jax, I will pop in for treats. The store is large and filled to the brim with everything imaginable- they have specialty cases full of hand picked chocolates, caramel apples, fudge and even an Ice Cream case. The shiny wrappers of sweet confection induce childhood excitement even in the grownups! They even have a rewards program! Check the counter on the way in for a free sample (it varies every time) and they have sales on select candy on pallets near the door. This shopping extravaganza was a bit different as we picked over sugar free candies. Even grabbed a tub of sugar-free chocolate chips! This place is giant and filled with aisles and aisles of Russell Stover brand Chocolate. Imagine if Walgreens or CVS expanded the candy section to be the whole store... that's what we're talking about here. They had Easter Candy, Christmas Candy, Halloween Candy, and some items that looked to be limited releases. They had a big sugar free section too. A lot of the product was well past it's expiration date. Some of it around a year past. I'm not an expert on if it's bad, but check the dates if you're buying. We did manage to find some stuff to buy and it was good. Maybe next time we'll try the ice cream counter which seems to be popular as well. read more

When you first enter the store they always have free samples of chocolate waiting for you. Next it's a store full of discounted chocolate, I'm a true chocolate lover so I could peruse around the store all day and when I finally take a break they have chocolate candy apples, chocolate strawberries, and of course every kind of different chocolate candy from a variety of brands. What a surprisingly good find. I had spotted the place on a bike ride / rail fan day, and made a note to go back with Mrs Robert. Route 301 in Wildwood, which this is close to, has seedy spots, but this is a huge, well-stocked, clean, professionally run place, with an enormous selection of chocolates , and a nice ice cream parlor. First time visiting the Russell Stover store and outlet. It was only a short drive from the Villages. Overall, I'd say there are certainly good values to be found here. That being said, one needs to keep in mind the front of the house/back of the house type structure of this store. The newer products with fresh dates and more standard retail prices are at the front of the store with the registers, while the older and more heavily discounted products were in the back section. Of the boxes that had dates, I saw chocolates that had been boxed as long ago as one year. That stuff may taste fine, but we avoided anything that wasn't relatively recently dated. The 2.5lb Whitman sampler we scored has been a lot of fun to share with the family over the holidays and everything tasted great. It came from the back section and was 50% off the normal retail price. read more

The Russell Stover factory is so nostalgic for me, we used to go as a kid sometimes. It's about two-ish miles off of the Wildwood exit on the Turnpike and it's definitely worth a detour. Just a quick pandemic update. They were closed for a while and had curbside service.but that didn't work for us because we focus a lot on their bloopers if you can't see what they have, so we were pleased when they reopened. They have a limit to how many they allow inside at a time, but it is such a large store I doubt customers have to wait outside often. Employees wear masks. I don't recall if they offer wipes for this shopping carts. I seem to recall they said they were wiped down between customers, but we tend to bring a wipe into stores we don't go to a lot, so I don't think I looked around to see if they were available. They don't have a person handing out samples due to a Covid, but there is a bowl for you to help yourself. I also don't remember if there is signage encouraging distancing, but really, most of us are doing that naturally by now. So I felt safe enough here. The only way I wouldn't would be if there was a line at the register and people not distancing. That didn't happen. read more

Always a great stop here, and worth the few miles off the highway. The outlet in this one is the BIGGEST of all the outlets and they have TONS of great candy for tiny money. If you have a sweet tooth and a tight wallet then you find heaven at the Russel Stover outlet. This is a HUGE store packed with every kind of chocolate candy you find in their normal boxes. You want a mixed box like you get at the drug store ? They've got that. You want a whole box of just one kind of candy? They got that too. But....the real treasure is to be found in the back room with the big aisle of "bloopers". This is where they bag up all the chocolates that did not quite come off of the assembly line correctly. Maybe it was slightly off center....or maybe too much caramel got injected into it...or maybe somebody's finger got cut off and contaminated the batch. I dont know. But they bag these up by the pound and sell them for $5. You cant beat that price. You really need to stop here if you are in the area. read more

We decided to finally stop into here and check this place out on our way home from Gainesville. This place is HUGE!! They have their main store then they have another room that has discounted boxes of chocolate available. And every holiday of chocolate out!! LARGE boxes of certain chocolates too. This store is definitely a chocoholics dream come true LOL! But they also have sugar free and non-chocolate candies to choose from as well -- candy corn, chick o sticks, rootbeer candies, etc. They also have a variety of fudge and candy apples. Don't forget to try the ice cream (Blue Bell) when you're there. We had the rootbeer float, cookies and cream cone, and butterscotch hot fudge sundae....and WOW they were all very good, the butterscotch was DEFINITELY my favorite and I'll be ordering that one for myself next time we go. We left with 7 boxes of chocolate (haha)...couldn't resist. You need to check this place out -- pricing is great for boxes of chocolate. I'll admit that I've been ruined by fine chocolate. My daughter-in-law made the best chocolate I've ever had (she won 14 awards in international competition) and taught me the difference between great chocolate and so-so chocolate. Russell Stover Chocolates chocolate is OK, but not in the same league as fine chocolate. I actually prefer their caramel covered apples, which are outstanding, as well as their ice cream, which is good. The ladies working behind the counter are always nice, so it's a pleasant experience.
