I'm gonna be 100% honest with you guys. The store itself doesn't have a problem. The problem is how they run the store. When I first visited this location for pick-up, there was a MASSIVE line outside the door, to which, I was very confused by (for other customers as well). I had a pick-up order for items I ordered online and the QR Code itself has on the bottom "Check in with an associate upon arrival. Show this code to the staff for pickup--no need to wait." so naturally, I thought, maybe, the line outside was for those trying to enter the store for buying other items. I entered the store, went to the front to get in another small line at the register, which I thought was a pick-up line. Got to the front and they said "Oh, for pick-up you have to wait outside." I was ????? On the QR Code, it literally says "no need to wait" so if I needed to wait in the pick-up line, why didn't they clarify beforehand.
I mean, I have no problem with the line. I understand that pick-up takes a while to get through everybody and bringing items out. It was just really confusing and a waste of time for everybody involved!
The first time I went to pick-up, there were so many people waiting in the long line that thought it was the line to enter the store, and when they found out they could just enter, they were like "oh my god". Hence, it's just confusing for both parties, the pick-up customers and walk-in customers.
The next time I visited, they had a funky sign outside with pick-up on it but it just kinda ruins the experience because of the miscommunication.
In addition, just a fair warning, although I did not experience this myself, on RedNote, a user mentioned that the store employees did not let anyone pick up anything after 7:30 PM although the store closes at 9 PM! The thing is, the pick-up time for the items you got online such as Labubu's, etc. are 2 days usually and on the 2nd day, it says you have until 11:40 PM to pick the items up before they are automatically returned and the money refunded.
If the store closes at 9 PM, they should let customers pick up items until the very end or nearing end. 7:30 PM is pretty unacceptable.
I understand Tangram is one of the bigger stores in New York, but all the comments under that post talked about how unsatisfied they were with the service of its employees.
I'm not saying they are all bad. There were some very nice people that helped me with my last pick-up order.
There just needs to be better arrangements made for these scenarios! And also, less judgement from employees like the ones in the post on RedNote! read more
