The ability to locate, peruse and connect with an RV anywhere in the country was great! The variety of makes, models and styles was unsurpassed. Not having to pay a dealer's markup and getting a unit that typically has already taken the hit of depreciation is a huge bonus. We were fortunate to find the right RV at the right price right in our area! April Rose was our "buyer's agent" (in Florida) and King Garrett represented the seller in Arizona. April put us in touch with King who met us multiple time at the seller's location. The communication was a tad slow, having to go thru channels, but we eventually got it done. Since we arranged our own financing Tricia the clising agent stepped-up as liason with our lender, taking the difficulty out of transition forms and funds. King arranged with the seller for our inspector to come in and do his work as well as communicating to the seller items we'd like to have repaired. The entire process took a bit more time than expected (30 days from initial contact to closing, much like a home). Well IT IS! The RV was at the repair shop when we closed and we were told "go get it." This was rather disappointing as we had no one to walk us thru the operation of the unit. Owner said "All the books are there" when asked about how something worked. In all honesty we believe much of its operation may have been unknown to him since the three year old unit had less than 9000 miles on it. But we can read and there are many helpful Facebook groups to reach out to. All in all I recommend POP for their thoroughness and professionalism. We sold our 1980 Viking earlier this month. Pop Yachts helped us through the process from listing, photos, showings and the closing. Joe Cook was our salesman and he was patient and persistent; he presented a local buyer and made everything work; he showed the local buyer the boat twice and we took an informal sea trial. Tricia handled the closing expertly and friendly. My one negative was the Sales Manager could have handled negotiations a bit better. In the current market, there is a frenzy and we received a few offers from distant buyers who faded. I was weighing two situations: - One was a sight unseen, full price, cash offer from New England. - The other was a local buyer who had seen and operated the boat but I was awaiting his offer. I was much more confident the local Buyer would actually close the deal. When I explained my preference, the Sales Manager played it by the book explaining that I would owe Pop Yachts the commission if I rejected the full price cash offer. The crew at POP yachts is incompetent at best. DO NOT BUY A BOAT ASSOCIATED WITH POP YACHTS. As soon as you send the down payment (typically 10% of sale price) that money is gone. That is the commission to POP Yachts and you will be hard pressed to get it back for any reason. What they dont know is I got in contact with the seller halfway through the sale and brokered the entire deal myself. They deserve none of the money the collected on this sale. This will be a in depth review so POP Yachts and everyone who wants to know can see how bad they suck. And by the way this was my first boat purchase. The closing agent Ana Valdez was nice but she had no idea what she was doing and took forever (days) to get back to anyone. This boat was about 15 hours away from me so I would have had to make a 2 day trip out to pick it up. To start off POP Yachts didn't know whether or not this was a dealer sale or private sale which made things difficult to start with. Ana told me dealer sale I said ok and call my bank to tell them. Then I start collecting info from POP Yachts to give to my bank. On 5/28 I singed papers to buy the boat and wire a 5k down payment (stupid me) to POP Yachts. The closing was set for 6/5. I ask Ana if this is a private sale or dealer sale because my bank needs to know. She says dealer sale. Ok... 6/2 Ana calls to tell me the seller will be out of town the day before I'm supposed to leave. Closing date moves to 6/11. Not that big of a deal. 6/2 Ana still has not removed my dad from the closing documents even though I told her many times on the phone and in the email that he is not associated in the deal in any way. 6/3 Ana calls to ask why my dad hasn't signed any documents. I tell her again because he isn't buying the boat. 6/5 I finally received the buyers documents updated and ready to be signed. And I ask Ana for a copy of the title which should be in POP yachts name because its a dealer sale as she stated. "Oh no we dont have the title" she says. So then I explain to her the difference between the two. 3 days of no calls/emails for both me and the seller. 6/8 I got sellers drivers license that I asked for last week (6/5) to send to my bank for loan info. I still need lots of other documents form Ana who is refusing to give them to me and so I ask her for the sellers Phone number so I can do her job and she refuses that too. 6/8 I found out who the seller was and got his phone number. He is a very nice smart man and he was easy to work with. He told me that he made it clear to Ana before she made the agreement that he would be out of town for the closing agreement about a week (5/28) before she let me know. (Ana claimed that she just found out that day (6/2)). He also said Ana takes about 4 days to get back to him. 6/8 The seller and I decide we will not go through POP Yachts because I still have a mountain of documents to collect (sellers titles, his wife's death certificates because she is on the title, sign and mail a bill of sale from my bank to him and back because my bank will only write a check to whoever is on the title of the boat and not POP Yachts thank god) and get before closing in 3 days. 6/8 The seller calls his agent to say he wants to take his boat off the market and not sell it. (which is a lie and I know its wrong but the incompetence was going to ensure this deal never happened. The Agent who I believe is Jim Munnell says there is no way to back out of the deal and threatens legal action against the seller should he back out (They already have my 5k wire transfer and do not want to let it go). He calls me back and says that he can't get out of the deal. From now until the closing I am calling my bank setting up bill of sale documents acquiring the copies of the titles which Ana would not give up to trailer and boat so my bank can verify the seller. Also acquiring his wife's death certificate and he was kind enough to include his will also for my bank to see. 6/10 I ask Ana after finally getting her on the phone if she needs any more documents from me to close and she says no but she does need a payment of $389 for closing costs. I think I actually laughed into the phone. I told her I wasn't going to pay it and they can take it out of the 5k of mine they already have. 6/11 I get a call from a closing manager who's name I dont remember. His Phone number ends in 7355 for POP Yachts to find him by. He understands I have been asking for a manager since 6/8 because Im not happy with the service and not willing to pay the $389. I explain the situation and he agrees I have several legitimate complaints. He then tells me they feel like they have earned the $389 because seller tried to back out of the deal and they got him to barley stay with it and they JUST found out his wife had passed and she is on the title. I said cool I'm about 3 days ahead of you. He hung up. read more

After reading reviews of this place I thought it would be a good company to buy a boat and list my RV. I made an offer on the boat and right away I was given the runaround and I really wanted the boat. At the same time I noticed they also do RV consignments and thought I can use them for both. Here is my issue after requesting to see the boat, Reggie the person I dealt with stated the owners was in town and to give him some date and times when I can see boat. So I gave him some dates and times 2 weeks go by and I texted Reggie and no response. Reggie was also supposed to get back to me in regards to the valuation of RV. Reggie disappeared and I reached out to Dennis but he is just as bad, he kept stating on email he would call me back in regards to boat and RV. He never did, same with listing the RV. I just feel bad for their customers because they don't seem interested in selling anything. I probably won't list the RV with them as I saw what customer service they had. None....terrible place and terrible customer service. I do like the boat also to add I tried calling Reggie but he is a joke and noticed he screens his calls. I don't normally write reviews bu Victor from Pop yachts tried to conduct some rather dirty business and it seems like something that should be posted online. As a small business owner I know that not all of your staff will be perfect, but I would hope someone with a director title is safe to do business with. I found a Grady White on pop yachts that was of interest and wanted to learn more. After leaving a voicemail with Victor he called me back roughly 2 hours later from a different number. He said that the boat I was inquiring on was no longer for sale but that he could see if the new owner was interested in selling. A few days later he returned my call again and said that the buyer would indeed be interested in selling to me, as the boat wasn't being used. I discussed pricing with Victor and it sounded like we came to an agreement. Fast forward one more week. I have spent $300 on a plane ticket and was about to book my hotel when an exchange with Victor left me feeling like something wasn't right. I needed to sign an agreement with the buyer and the offer was rather generic looking and came from his personal email address. When I questioned why non of the papers said Pop yachts on them I was told this is normal. I asked someone I know who tried buying from this dealershup in the past and they said their experience was very different. After pushing Victor for more on this he finally explained to me that the deal was not being ran through his bosses but rather something he setup on the side. I was not okay with this. I contacted a dealer because I did not want to do some outside deal with a dirty business man trying to take an extra cut. I walked away from the deal and lost my $300 ticket. In an attempt to make things right and notify Pop yachts I tried calling two other officials on their website and neither person could return my call. Either they know what is going on and dont care or just aren't interested in talking to an unhappy customer. This was a horrible experience where I feel I could have very easily been scammed out of my money if I was not pushing and asking the right questions. From a paperwork and process , Pop Yachts made it easy and ensured completeness of titles, etc. It was reassuring that all of the paperwork was done properly and completely. I also want to complement them on representing the boat appropriately - they disclosed information about the boat that was known and fairly represented it. I put down a deposit on a boat and decided not to buy it and they refunded my whole deposit without a hitch. They do have a nice selection but most on the east coast. I would recommend them. Speaking as an RV buyer, the process was relatively simple and the folks @ POP RVs were very helpful throughout the entire process. They have some automated e-mails that go out during the sales process that masquerade as if a real person sent them, but they are obviously automated. Not a big deal, but kinda takes that "Personal Touch" out of that part of the process. Having them coordinate professional inspection, coordinate my personal inspection, and work within my particular timing parameters were all very easy and straightforward. Post-sale, when my state needed extra paperwork to show that I had paid sales tax I contacted them and they found it and faxed it over immediately, helping me avoid spending undue time at the Tax Assessor's office. Overall, would use POP RVs again. Have already recommended them to a couple of friends who were looking at buying an RV. read more

Garbage. Their "We add our commission on top" gimmick is nice in theory but not practical in the real world. Don't be fooled by this marketing ploy. The artificially inflated price deters buyers from making a good offer that they normally would have considered at the regular (non-POP) price. If they do make an offer, POP will still want their commission so the seller is left to take the hit. One other thing they WONT tell you is they don't advertise on YachtWorld. Instead they have their own directory which it trash compared to the reach of listing on YachtWorld. I have dealt with a few POP reps/agents and they are very shady and deceptive. read more

Thieves, or at least they try to be. Sold my boat. Couple months later I get an email that they want a commission. They literally did nothing for me to sell my boat. They claim I owe a commission because the guy that bought my boat was registered with POP and he looked at my ad. Thing is I sold this boat to him through Craigslist. POP was not involved at all. Before POP even sent an email that he had looked at my ad I had taken him on a sea trial. They didn't even know the boat was sold. I got about 20 emails saying certain people are looking at my ad. The thing is if you are registered with them and look at an ad a set amount of times they send this email automatically to the seller to look they are doing something. Now, if anyone of those people wind up buying your boat they think they are owed whether or not they do anything with POP besides look at your ad. All contact was done on Craigslist and the phone not through POP and BEFORE he even looked at my ad on POP. Now they want $2500 and are threatening court. I will tell everyone I know about their criminal behavior and will never use POP again. read more

POP Yacht's has become the largest brokerage for boats nation wide by developing an excellent software package for their sales team. Their strategy, however is to hire 50 new contractors every three weeks, sit them through a largely automated training class and then work them at reduced commission until they burn out and quit. between 1 and 4 contractors out an entire class actually stay. The fruits of everyone else's free labor are then passed on the the few senior brokers they retain. Then they run a new class, three weeks later, teasing a bunch of struggling parents and failed real estate agents with the mirage of a career. read more

Invest in your employees more; consider not cancelling your employees contract because they don't meet the ridiculous standard of cold calling hundreds & hundreds of customers when they can still provide boots on the ground company photography & representation in their designated territory. I provided boots on the ground representation and photography for a listing when my contract was unceremoniously cancelled- RIGHT as I was finally involved in my first sale (how convenient for pop). It seemed shady on the higher ups part as well to cancel my contract as soon as I was involved in a deal closing; like they didn't want me to get any $$ from the deal because I had carefully constructed hundreds of cold emails every week for months but it wasn't enough for them. I emailed the CEO Lawrence asking for clarification and was never responded to; probably because he knows they were not only wrong to cut me out of the deal I was a rep for but potentially illegal. They owe me for this ONE deal I got to be involved in after months of sending hundreds of emails to customers and making several trips to add photography to listings- not like I ever got paid for anything else from them. They don't want to reward their employees for work they've done, unless the employee sends something like thousands of emails in months, as if potential clients want to be constantly contacted like that. I didn't think they were a scam until they cancelled my contract like they did and made sure I didn't get paid a single cent. Thanks for nothing POP. read more
