I had not been to the Collierville Popeyes in years because the service had gotten so bad. My son wanted a spicy chicken sandwich so I figured we would give it a shot. Pulled up to the drive-through and the automated voice asked me if I wanted some special. I replied no, and gave my order, but there was no response. After waiting about five minutes, I backed up and pulled Ford again triggering the automatic voice asking me if I wanted the same special. I again replied no, and proceeded to give my order. After a few minutes, my son said, there were some people in Popeyes shirts, dancing in the parking lot like they were making a TikTok video, maybe those are the workers. Well, I think he was joking. We looked back and could see them standing in the parking lot and after a couple more minutes, they started to walk into the building. One of them had a headset on. About the time it would take them to get into the building a real person's voice said hello, May I take your order. I guess they had finished whatever they were doing and decided to come help me. Clearly they saw us sitting at the drive-through waiting to order. After getting our food and driving away, we could see people inside, waiting to order food and people inside the restaurant sitting down eating so still not 100% clear what was going on, but it shouldn't take 10 minutes for someone to respond to you at the drive-through. Note unlike McDonald's the app does not automatically reward you points. You gotta scan your QR code. But guess what, the scanners were removed at this location says the cashier. lol. Wrong order, TWICE, and as slow as possible. I went through the drive through and had to pull up to await my order. When I felt like it would never come, I went inside and they told me it would be right out. What they didn't tell me was that they would get my order wrong, not once but TWICE. This place is awful. It's a rip off. A huge nasty disgusting scam joint. We went on a Friday evening to pick up an online order. They were out of chicken!! Who the F runs out of chicken before the evening rush even starts on a Friday? They had 30 or 40 tickets laid out everywhere on the front counter, behind the counter, coming out of the printer behind register for PAID FOR online orders that they couldn't fulfill. We are trying to get our money back now but it looks like we won't. At least we know how they manage to stay open, they screw everyone who orders online. I asked her if she could please pick my receipt up off of the ground, because the guy was in the back making it. She leaned over an attempt to do it, but never picked it up and left it on the ground. The drive-through girl walked back-and-forth several times, stepping on the receipt that was mine. I finally asked the gentleman can you please hand me my reciept that is on the floor because I'd like to get a refund and he said I had to do the refund on the app. No other explanations as I left the building, he went and sat down in the front lobby. There were about three employees sitting in the front lobby and about two working in the back. But to run out of chicken at 5 o'clock on a Friday that just doesn't even sit well. Staff exit as if my online order had come through even though it was paid for then when I asked to speak to a manager, it magically came through. I pulled to the drive-through window, and the young lady looks at me has me my food without saying one word so I blow my horn and I ask her what's her name she did not want to give me her name but eventually say Leanne I'm not sure how true that name is, but Leanne needs more training. Can giving a Zero be a thing (yelp)? This is a hangout disguised as a Popeyes. The ppl hanging out are the employees. Nobody told them it's a job and what the job is. If they did, no one seems to care. They become annoyed if you order and very agitated if you ask for a refund (considering they aren't interested in completing the order). I got the look that I could only compare to someone wanting to fight when I asked if I could get my refund quicker than the food I wasn't getting. This was by the person in charge who was not answering the phone and instead using her intercom to utter hostilities to the employee refunding me. Stopped by for a " quick lunch". Ha! There were about 10 people who had already ordered & were standing waiting for their orders. The young cashier looked at me after taking several more orders, & said " I've got to fill these other people's orders first. Then I'll take your order". I just paid for hers so she could eat. So we finally got our food & it was pretty good. HOWEVER- none of the employees had hairnets or hats or other hair restraints. I finally got the manager's attention and asked him to get someone on the counter. He had the second young lady take my order. When she started filling my order, the first young lady came out of the restroom. Stay away from this place. Life is too short. Also, I watched as people who made mobile orders (and paid in advance) were told that components of their order were not available. This establishment has been a disappointment to me in their service as they're not fast let alone Louisiana fast. Whenever I placed my order there always seems to be a setback weather it would be taking my order or never having my order ready for me when I drive up to the window. Sometimes they've even run out of chicken & wasted my time pulling up to the drive thru. I've dined in a few times not much different in the service. Their store interior seems to be kept cleanly overall from their floors countertops & a neatly well stocked condiment & spice station. It starts with the flagrantly rude bordering on belligerent young lady at the drive thru. She was short, snarky & failed at a greeting, smile or thanks. I got grunts, jeers & a overall bothered & condescending attitude. BIG one. Next after receiving my 4 wing order for $8 I asked for a bbq dipping sauce & after a weird look she "it costs .20 cents" to which I asked, "just want a dipping sauce so it's .20 cents for just one dipping sauce?" Then a grunt, I gave the quarter & moved on. When I got home, surprise there's only 3 chicken wings in the box, seriously. YOU HAVE ONE JOB, and this location sucks at it.
