This location is right by my church but I haven't been here lately because of the other one closer to home. I've always considered this the nicer looking Sonic. I got the Jalapeno Chocolate shake and the SuperSonic Breakfast Burrito. They're not a very good combo as both have jalapenos. I didn't really like the shake as it seemed like it had way to many jalapeno parts. I liked the Triple Chocolate Blast but I didn't like chewing on the chocolate chip bits. There's a big and nicely appointed dine-in area that is under cover which makes a nice option to sit outside. This location an extra lane for drive-in customers so even during rush hours it's a good chance of getting a spot. I have been here several times and they have always gotten my order correct an it has been spot on so no worries. The servers have always been very pleasant and cheerful. I did work as a car hop when I was in junior high and actually was promoted to car hop supervisor during the summer. I was always very outgoing and thought myself to be a bit of a comedian so being friendly, funny and eager to please paid off with bigger tips and who knew I would end up doing morning radio where those qualities really paid off. Here I go reminiscing but when some if these young people have really upbeat and professional attitudes I make sure and mention on Yelp because it means something special to me. Bottom line, you know pretty much what to expect with Sonic food but the venues can vary pretty dramatically and as for this locaton it is very clean, well maintained and the people are outstanding. 4 stars for sure. read more

As with most of my fast-food reviews I'm going to concentrate on the service. After all, fast food is fast food, and if its done right it is the same at all locations. The service at this location is excellent. Food always comes out fast, the orders are always right. They bring around the "smile tray" quite often during lunch and dinner asking if you need more stuff. Many of the hops wear skates which I think is an excellent touch. If you're looking for a Sonic, this one is run as well as any. read more

I'm getting a little tired of writing 5-star reviews, but maybe I have a knack for finding good places to eat (?) I'd been tempted to try one of Sonic's dogs. I'm a hot dog lover, and in a down economy, what is more in-line with the down-economy lifestyle than the lowly frank? Ordered the $1.99 New York dog which comes with grilled onions and Gulden's (or similar brand) mustard. Dang. You know, for a couple of bucks, does it really get any better? Any time I run across great cheap eats like this, it reminds me of the 7-11 green burrito (microwavable burrito in green wrapper) that my drunk football player suitemates used to ask me to get for them late at night at college. It may or may not be healthier, but they make your taste buds happier. The small cheese tots have less calories than I thought they would. Avoid the cheesecake related shakes! I ordered the regular Cheesecake Shake and the first sip was just sour! I know cheesecake tastes tangy, but this was straight up spoiled. This Sonic is a rip-off. On Sunday, Oct. 15 I ordered a foot-long coney w/ no cheese, onion rings, and a Coke w/ easy ice. The coney was basically a bare wiener and bun with about a teaspoon of chili. There were only three onion rings in the package. And the cup was mostly ice with very little Coke. I know fast-food places don't employ the smartest people, but you'd think they could do this very simple job. I mean, that's why they work in fast-food - because it does not require very much in the way of mental aptitude. I am sure they have instructions with pictures showing how to do things. They "should" be able to follow simple instructions. I was sent a message from "Emily W" concerning my post. I replied, only to find she had blocked me. So, since I didn't want to waste my time and effort, here is the content of the entire conversation. From "Emily W": Hello, R.P. I am messaging you in response to your Sonic Drive-In review. On behalf of fellow fast food employees, I just wanted to state a couple things.. I find your comments about fast food employees a little biased and judgmental. Granted, there are a handful of us that aren't the brightest- but you will see that in every establishment. But to say that we are all working there because the job doesn't require "mental aptitude" is wrong. Most of us are in high school in college; there just aren't many job options at that age. Personally I can say that I go to an extremely competitive college in Memphis. I take hard classes and excel in them. I am in no means stupid. It hurts us young people when others treat us in this way. Instead, you should be encouraging us and telling us what we can work on instead of condemning us. That is a difficult thing to do for most people. I have respect for people in the food industry, including those in fast food, but it is not that difficult to follow instructions and do things right. I can even forgive simple mistakes from time to time. Most of the steps are exactly the same, even with the frequent requests for changes in the standard menu. What I have experienced in dealing with a few fast food places makes me wish I could meet the people in person just to see if there is any intelligence at all. For example, there have been a few times at different restaurants where I would order a hamburger with ketchup only, for my daughter, since she does not like anything else on it. The parts to assemble such a burger are super-simple - a bottom bun, a piece of meat, a squirt of ketchup, and a top bun. What we have received has ranged from one being piled high with pickles, everything but ketchup, the entire burger completely unassembled, and more. It has bumfuzzled me each time this has happened. I grew up on a farm where I had to take a little instruction, and a lot of intuition and ingenuity, and use it to get the job done. Farming can be extremely dangerous, highly unpredictable, and very sensitive, meaning that if you make a mistake in the Spring, you won't know about it until the Fall. But, by the time I was 15 I was running the entire operation because I listened to what my dad and grandpa were telling me, keeping my mind on what I was doing, and doing my best just to do things right. Sure, I made mistakes, but I would admit to them and do what I could to remedy them. In the end, for quite a few years, the farm was a success. I firmly believe anybody at any age and in any industry can do those very few simple things and achieve success: - listen and take instruction/be teachable - be mindful of what you are doing/understand the steps to a successful outcome - when mistakes are made (and they will be made) admit to them and act quickly with the right solution Like I said earlier, I can forgive honest mistakes. They are going to happen regardless of who, what, when, where, why, etc. But the mistakes can be minimized by understanding the job and the goal, and the desire to do things right. I think that is what is missing at a lot of businesses in general. They want the money above all else, and the customers must suffer because of that. My comments may have been a little harsh, but they are the truth. The truth cannot be denied. I can't help it if somebody gets their feelings hurt because of the truth. For somebody to go through life doing a far less than mediocre job is highly unacceptable in just about any industry, including fast food. I hope you do well in your education and get a great job that is not in the food industry. If you ever manage other people, demand that they do the job right. Humanity will be appreciative! I like this location for convenience and speed of service and hours and nice customer service BUT I hate that they randomly decide to close one or even two hours early because of "maintenance." The lights are on and there seems to be a lot of cars but when you push to order, the guy on the speaker says they are closed. This has happened numerous times and it's annoying. They should just change their hours to end at 9 pm because the 11pm or midnight close time is a lie. Numerous times I've come up and they tell me 45+ minutes early that they have already decidedly turned off the grill and fryer--not even the usual lie of maintenance. Frustrating esp. when you already have limited options and usually can count on sonic to be open semi late. Honestly sonic probably only gets most customers because of large drinks happy hour, slushes, and being open late when there are zero other options except for Taco Bell and McDonald's. Arrived and placed my order at 9:55 am that included a breakfast burrito and a large sweet tea. The sweet tea is 1/2 price until 10am. When my order arrived at 9:59am I was informed by their clock it was 10am and I had to pay full price. I laughed saying it's only 9:59 am now. She was very persistent tapping the receipt saying it says 10am. I said you can just keep it and as I started to back out she said I can go get it changed to 1/2 price and I said that's ok. I called the store asking for a manager and got Andre on the phone. He was very nice and apologized for the incident and offered a free drink. My point is I don't want anything free I just want to receive what I requested and not with an attitude. I pray for this situation and hope there aren't others this happens to and nothing is said or resolved.
