She recommended their top flavors (top 5 is cheese, caramel, chocolate, mango and coconut), had them be set aside for me, sent me the info for me to pay through Zelle and followed up afterwards to make sure everything went ok. Upon pickup I was pleasantly surprised about how cute their little shop was. On Yelp it sounded like it previously had more of a warehouse-y feel but the little space felt very homey with tables, chairs, a couch and a TV with a World cup game on. I was very very tempted to buy an extra sandwich or empanada to go but I already had food at home. Maybe next time. My husband LOVED the cheese flan - he said it tastes like the ones his mom made which is high praise. I also tried the caramel one which was very good. Each portion is $6 which in my opinion is enough to split between two people after dinner but I honestly inhaled one on my own when I was hungry. I haven't looked at it myself but Sara mentioned they have their own Un Rinconcito Argentino Long Beach page as a reference if anybody wants to look them up in the future. There are boutique retail, carry out food places, and Medical offices located in this area. Walking through the parking lot to the entrance along Long Beach Boulevard, it was easy to notice that the area was kept clean - both the parking lot and the drive-thru are spotless. Upon entering the front door we were greeted at the counter with a friendly 'how can I help you.' There were a few people on the inside picking up and finishing up their orders. Classic donut shop ambiance. Everything was clean and the display cases were filled with products. I was pretty sure I knew what I wanted, but I asked what their most popular items were. I noticed like most of the donut shops I've been to, they have a classic croissant ham and cheese as well as a great selection of freshly made donuts. My favorite is an apple fritter. We ordered coffee, a couple of croissants, ham and cheese and two apple fritters to go. As she was carefully packing our box to go she asked if we would like to try the cake glazed donut. What a nice surprise! They were fresh and still warm. As we were leaving there were some people coming in the door to pick up phone orders. There were a few people there for the peace and quiet with something to drink and a pastry. There is also a drive-up window that is very convenient along Long Beach Boulevard. Just look for the big donut! What a great experience and a cute place to discover near my appointments!
