My first impression of the place wasn't good at all. There was a weird, musty smell to the place and it looked extremely dirty and unkept. I almost turned around to leave but I didn't want to spend all night looking for a place to stay. I figured that I'd just deal with it for one night and find another place the next day. The owner/manager was nowhere to be found. I waited almost 10 min for him to finally appear at the counter. Mr. Patel was extremely rude from the get go. After paying, I went to my room and was in shock at how it smelled and looked. The sheets had a gray tint to them, as if they hadn't been washed in weeks. They ended up changing the sheets but I was leery at that point. I went into the bathroom and it had a mildewy smell to it. I turned on the faucet and that's when I saw it for the first time -- a freakin cockroach! I know there usually isn't just one cockroach because if there's one, there's many. I was just afraid to find out where the rest of them were hiding. The room was extremely cold so I went to check the thermostat to crank up the heat. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to work. I went to the front desk and Mr. Patel rolled his eyes and then just stared at me. I told him the room was extremely cold and that I couldn't turn up the heat. He told me that he'd look into it. I went back to my room and felt better since the sheets looked like they had been washed and I knew I wasn't going to freeze to death! That good feeling didn't last long as I ended up seeing a couple more cockroaches and I had had enough! I went back to the counter and asked for a refund due to all the issues and filth, and he refused. I had gone to the front counter a few times and almost every time I went, there was no one there to provide any assistance. This place has the worst management and customer service I've ever seen. This hotel is disgustingly filthy, cockroaches roam around as if they own the place and the smell was similar to the smell of dirty drawers and gym socks. Mr. Patel, I highly suggest you take a course in Customer Service 101 along with a cleaning course. Stay away from this hotel at all costs!!

We were told that we had a dog and there was a $75 fee for a dog. I have been there two times last summer, always asked about bringing pets and was told it was allowed. Again when making this years reservation I verified they still allowed pets and was told yes, Nothing said about a fee, Also in the" 40 commandments" that was given upon check-in nothing is mentioned about a Key deposit or $75 fee for a pet . And yes they kept the $50. I gave it only one star because there is a choice to choose a 0 star. We were told never to come back. This really is the best thing about this resort, Very shady business practices.

What more do you want people? I mean, I could tell you stories of the Motel 6's, Super 8's, Quality Inn's and Days Inns that are not this modern and nice or this clean. This area doesn't have a lot of hotels but there's a Quality Inn, a motel, and this hotel all within a block or two. I have the IHG credit card so I chose this hotel. I booked a room with 2 queen beds since it was cheaper than 1 king; upon check-in, I asked if they had any kings, hoping maybe I would get a free upgrade since I have silver status with them, but unfortunately they said a room with a king bed would be $30 more, so I kept my original room. Pros: -spacious room, and the bed was comfortable -only three floors and you're never far from the elevator -has both a minifridge and a microwave. The minifridge was rather tall actually and when I tried to open the fridge it kept moving a little bit -free breakfast and some of the reviews on here were complaining about it, whereas others called it a continental breakfast. It was a typical of IHG breakfasts I have experienced lately and it actually had quite a lot of hot options too -The Wi-Fi was fast and mostly reliable, however it would not work for my Nintendo Switch. I had no issues for my iPad and phones though. Cons: -rooms are definitely a bit dated. However, my room was very clean. -No restaurant on site but that is typical of Holiday Inn Express hotels that I have stayed at. There's a restaurant attached to Quality Inn called JJ Winns that I did takeout from, which was good. -The minifridge was actually too cold; I put a bottle of water in the side door so I would have it for pills for the morning and it was actually mostly ice in the morning unfortunately. I'm sure this can be adjusted but I didn't think to do so. Overall I would stay here again, it was an adequate stay and the price wasn't too bad either (about $122 for the night, before taxes, comparable to the other hotels in the area).
