Enjoyed this food truck option during the World Cup game at barrelhouse! You order at the food truck outside and they give you a buzzer and then you can enjoy the food inside the air conditioning. Definitely beer food/sports food. I appreciated the keto bowl options. We got a deep pit beef sandwich, cheeseburger, and plain nachos. All of it tasted good, cheeseburger was fine, like a backyard bbq cheeseburger. The basic Nachos were basic stadium nachos which were good and what we wanted. They were outside BarrelHouse when we went there and when we saw our friends walked by with a pastrami sandwich, we right away knew what we were getting. My husband and I split a pastrami burger, it was a bit pricey for a burger I think. Flavor-wise though, I absolutely love it! I had the pastrami sammich during boots in the park, and ever since then my wife and I have longed for it. We have searched bakersfield high and low and the other pastrami is not that great. We happened to be driving to BevMo and spotted Poppi's hanging in front of Copps. It looked oddly familiar, and then it hit me! The pastrami truck! For some reason the first time around I could not find them online. We got a sandwich each. Great briskit, on a nice soft roll. Very tasty and tender with pickles, onions and mustard. It was great, but I remember it being better at the concert. I could have sworn it had like a house made chipotle mayo or something unique on it. Anyways, still a killer sandwich. The only downside is the price. $44 for two sandwiches is pretty steep so definitely not an every week for me. Be sure to call to find out where they are at that day. Tried this place when I was at a football game. The food was okay though not super warm and lacked flavor. Also it was overpriced. A pastrami hot dog and a bag of chips was $14 and a loaded nachos with chicken was $18. The staff was friendly though and the truck is cute. It is good and I would go back...BUT...the roll was steamed, not toasted, the pastrami was garden variety, not artisan, and the sandwich was about $15 which seems pricey for the quality and quantity of food you get. I have had the pastrami and it is good. I have wondered why they charge $20 for a sandwich now I know they think they are special. They are especially rude. They park for an extended amount of time, in the pickup and go spot at the grocery store to go in to shop. These spots are limited and meant for the online pickup orders. The tater tots had little flavor and contained too much grease(normally not a bad thing, but the grease added no additional flavor to the pulled pork). The full price was $40 dollar's with tip. The food was wonderful. I ate at their food truck during a Sunday farmer's market. Although I haven't tried the pastrami, the deep pit beef sandwich with bbq sauce was the best I've ever had. Although it is a bit pricey, the sandwich was easily large enough to feed myself and my girlfriend, so not that pricey for two. The service was great, I only had to wait 4-5 minutes for my sandwich.
