Good Burgers! [Bakersfield CA] Somewhere halfway home from Vegas we decided to stop in Bakersfield to get something to eat and also satisfy our sweet cravings. We found this eatery next to a boba shop. A counter service restaurant we walked up to the register to place our order. The owner was welcoming and friendly. We ordered the Mushroom & Swiss Burger (combo). 1/4 lb. beef patty, Swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms, iceberg lettuce, tomato, and mayo. It was delicious. The fries were crispy and very good. The patty was well cooked, but did not lack flavor and did not lack that juiciness. They were made fresh and in a timely matter, and the customer service was top-tier. I went into this restaurant out of desperation on a whim last month, extremely hungry, and did not know much about the place. I am currently on a low-carb/ketosis variety diet and doing really well. So I ordered a cheeseburger protein style and a chicken salad with blue cheese, crumble and ranch dressing. They actually were kind enough to let me taste test the balsamic vinaigrette w/ plain vinegar because I thought that dressing might be nice with the salad instead of other options. I sampled until I found the one I liked. I chose the ranch. This was so insanely kind, and I felt valued as a customer for the first time in ages. I am so grateful for the time she took (while the store was empty) to help find me the best dressing for my salad. I am new to this diet and I have not done it in over 15 years. She was so kind to offer me all the options and help me feel as if her help was taylor made for me. She's a gem and was the cashier. The cook seemed very polite. The home sauce was a little tart, but also brought in sweet and spice components. I enjoyed it immensely. I also ordered the breaded chicken salad, I believe Baja style. I really enjoyed it. The chicken was cooked extremely well, the cheese was perfectly melted, the lettuce was fresh and crisp, and the sauce is just solid. Light but flavorful. I asked them to add blue cheese crumbles and it elevated the salad so much. The portion was a reasonably large size and the price was fair. Now, the cheeseburger itself. Near perfection. The lettuce was nicely crisped, tomatoes were juicy and not under ripe, onions were thinly sliced, and the burger sauce was a proportionate dollop of spicy, creamy goodness. The best kick after a juicy bite. It really was this good and surprisingly memorable. I've been fortunate enough to have had my share of food around the state and country. This was a darn good burger. I would highly rate this place! I am eager to return. Also, the service was top-notch! I wish I could remember your name, Girl at the counter. I believe she had dark black hair pulled back in a ponytail and looked quite young. If I see her when I return, I will ask her for her name if I see her again. The burger patties were super tasty with that rockin' real beef flavor and every single bite to the last was heaven. I personally dislike dry burgers and this place really, really lives up to their name. Even my last bite was still steamin. The fries were very hot and crispy--perfect! I got take out from Juicy Burger on a Friday. One of the specials was a Philly Cheesesteak combo. For #11.99 I got the Cheesesteak, fries and a drink. My sandwich was huge! I ate a few French fries and they were hot and fresh. Everything was so good! Everyone was so nice. A really friendly restaurant to go to. As far as I could tell it was very clean inside. My only gripe is if you need the restroom, you need to leave the restaurant and walk down a very creepy hallway. Although Juicy Burger is nowhere near my house, I can see making a trip over there. I'm so glad it did! They have some of the best hot dogs I've ever had. The street dog was especially delicious - well-seasoned and made to perfection. The chili cheese fries were also amazing! The fries were perfectly crispy, and there was a generous serving of chili. Out of all the dishes we tried, the only one I wouldn't give a 10/10 is their cheese steak sandwich. That one was a bit greasy, and the steak cut wasn't the best choice. Still a solid 8/10. Juicy Burger has plenty of seating for families to enjoy. Their interior kind of reminds me of Five Guys.
