The room was clean and spacious enough but there was no hair dryer and they never cleaned the room for our 3 day stay so we ran out of towels and coffee (called to replenish) and the TV was super squirley. The Cherokee tower is far from everything. We were there during the week so many of the places to eat were not open until late in the day if they opened at all so we had to walk quite a ways to eat.. I'm not a great walker so that makes a difference to me. There was only one place for a breakfast during the week as well and that was in the other tower. Guys restaurant was good but really not fabulous and no breakfast during the week. All the restaurants and stores closed at 9 so plan ahead on that as well. The casino was good. We found if we gambled during the day we won but at night we did not, so we didn't gamble at night. The sports book area was great for watching football but we were watching on a day that all restaurants closed at 9 and the game started at 8:30 soo.. out of luck on that. We would go back because we did have a good time but I was surprised at some of this so thought I'd provide some education to others planning on staying here.

The room was clean, nice shower and bathroom layout with a separate water closet. Bed was comfortable but bigger pillows would have made it perfect. The casino is large with an enclosed smoking room if you like to indulge. Nice variety of slots even the newer Buffalo Cash and Journey to the PlanetMoolah are not on offer. The casino waitress/waiters were in short supply but there is a self service drink dispenser and a couple of bars. There are a variety of places to eat but the only meal we enjoyed was at Noodles. No luck this time around, but I'm sure we will visit to try again.

I'm never going to give a VFW low stars because as a Vet I would never ever take away from…read moreeverything they do for us. So while the VFW itself earns five stars I have some feedback to share regarding the Bingo that is open to the public. 1. This is a family friendly bingo game but it's really not played in a family friendly encouraging way. This is more like Bingo for adults but you can bring your kids. Definitely to hard and competitive for a family to teach and enjoy bingo together. This is due to the highly competitive prizes the lowest prize was at around $100 and because of this it's not really welcoming to new people. 2. They make the games just a little too complicated. There is no straight Bingo five across diagonal or down personally I think to get more veterans and public involved they need to cut some of the prizes down and offer more that aren't cash based... a few rapid quick games that aren't black out could be less stressful and build more on the community and fun aspect. Lessen the overall jackpot a couple hundred and go for more gift cards and $25 dollar slots. Honestly you could probably get some local businesses to donate some pretty good gift cards as well. 3. The VFW is for and about veterans but when I came for Bingo that aspect was not mentioned there was a POW table but no mention of the importance no mention of the prevention numbers group events or benefits of joining a VFW at all. No mention of anyone's service at all and I think it added to an heir of disrespect that some people had because they forgot that the person next to them could be a vet... at one Point a m a committee member called a participant a white trash a** whole and I'm pretty sure he is an OEF veteran. Who may have had his own issue and needed a community... I guarantee he didn't find it tonight. As a matter of fact two members of the community were allowed to fuss about him "dobbing to loudly" as well as confronting someone who was being disrespectful to him but immediately they took the other members sides... it truly felt as though the mission of the VFW had been lost in order to play a competitive game. For a while the VFW has been trying to encourage millennials from OEF and OIF to join... but tonight was a reminder that we aren't really welcome. No one except the concession stand people engaged with me at all. There were no flyers and no information on anything to help us or encourage us to be a part of something. The thing is I'm not bitter because we didn't win we actually walked out with more than what we paid to play but I've worked in the Veteran Transition field for about five years and tonight was a stark reminder of why millennials veterans feel that they aren't welcome and supported but VSOs as a whole and have started to avoid them

I was looking forward to playing bingo that night. I noticed that a place was not saved for a couple that frequent Bingo and thought it would be nice to save them seats. In the interim, my daughter called very upset because she recently lost her husband and was crying on the phone. Not knowing that you are not supposed to save seats; I was confronted by one of the Bingo people while I was on the phone trying to comfort my daughter that there were no saving seats. The mother/daughter regulars wanted their seats. I was not able to respond because I was focusing on trying to comfort my daughter. I was confronted again by a Bingo person and said I was not allowed to save seats and proceeded to remove my daubers while I was on the phone. The mother and daughter proceeded to their seats. When I got off the phone, I tried to explain to the daughter; why I was on the phone. She was rude and ignored me. This is very upsetting to me as I was not treated with no respect by the Bingo person as well as the patrons. Would I have been treated differently if I was a regular? The whole situation has affected my sleep and bothers me still for something I did no wrong.
