We walked until we found cell service and called Pop's taxi. Our driver came to our rescue right away, found us on the side of the road and proceeded to cart us back (almost 2 hours) to Atlanta. Their fees are competitive and incredibly fair, the vehicle was clean and safe, our driver was kind, funny, a great conversationalist and even gave us a bit of a tour and some recommendations along the route. Not a terribly bad way to spend five hours in Atlanta…read more They say to be at the meet up point 15 minutes before the tour start time of 900am. The tour guide didn't show up until 900am. He checked us in, and some of the prepaid people were missing. He calls his boss, who presumably reaches out to the missing. We then spend the next 15 minutes sitting in the Peachtree Center as he describes the center and the surrounding area, just killing time to see if the missing arrive late. We finally get going, and the tour guide talks nonstop, in a booming voice, with the microphone turned up full volume, and he plays the harmonica for brief musical interludes. Quite peculiar. At least the bus had air conditioning, although rather weak at times.

What a great decision! My husband commented that we should have started our week this way (instead of our last day). We went to a section to hike that we never would have tried (as it's on the Highlands Cashiers Land Trust) that was a beautiful hike with amazing views. Justin was a delightful guide, providing a rich history of the area. We also enjoyed talking geology with Justin, who was a wealth of information. Even if you've been to Highlands & Cashiers many times, treat yourself to a Highlands Excursion to see the beautiful waterfalls, mountain ranges & more. You won't regret it! Also when the host gave the introduction he said "If you don't like it the door is down there." He also said "If you fall down you will be on world star." An as we were departing from the bus we didn't even get to go boxes until someone asked. Over all the food was mid . We were able to spot a bunch of ladies dressed for tea all looking lost, hence we knew we were in the right place. The bus pulled up and having VIP meant absolutely nothing as everyone boarded the bus and you were told what table to sit at as you checked in. All seating was on top with the VIP being towards the back of the bus. Apparently they knew that someone was lost because we waited beyond the take off time for folks to show up. There wasn't much instruction given like today you will be tasting ALL the teas as we come around and give you a sip (literally a sip) ~ no sugar or honey or milk on the table. Asked for sugar as was given two packets. The food was meh . . . I can't say it was worth upgrading to the VIP as we left numerous things untouched. Nothing was mentioned as far as what we were having. It was wrapped in plastic and we unwrapped it and dug in. The placemats serve a purpose and we need more placemats or y'all need to rethink the table coating because anything not on the placemat will slide away. No rinsing cups between drinks so sip up even if you didn't like what was served. We were offered left over tea when we left but it was first come, first serve. I had expected more insight to the places we were passing by, instead I got A LOT of singing. At one point t I had to ask the significance of a statue as was met with "it really isn't important" - we approached Centennial Park and I had to let my guest know as the host was busy taking selfies with guest. I feel like we finished faster than what we had anticipated and it left me feeling like a rushed experience versus a nice tea. The food was lackluster and these extra bites didn't seem to equate to what we paid for. There were items online (such as the deviled egg) that we didn't get and we were told that the menu is t always the same. So I can say this with confidence, been there done that, got me once, won't get me again.
