Really cool building, rooms are pretty small not too bad. Industrial vibe with ceiling exposed and concrete had writing on it. Provided a complimentary vanity bag! So nice of them! We checked on the restaurant downstairs. Cool setup, delicious food. Great fresh pressed juice.

What am awesome building. The architecture always caught my eye and I finally got to visit their rooftop bar. The views are amazing, especially as the city lights up at night. There is valet parking as well as a paid lot.

I mean, it's just a cool hotel. The design? It's a birch tree, with the "eyes" as they call them. Get it? Once you do, you can't unsee it anymore. The eco-friendly hipster trendy spot is something to be checked out, for sure. It's wild to me all the "leather" made in the lobby bar is made from mushroom... whaaaat?! And this hotel has no parking -- net zero, baby! I popped in for a drink while at a festival at Civic Center Park. It's a good break from the hot outside and sea of humanity. We noticed from the park there might be a rooftop, and I did know there was a restaurant upstairs, but didn't realize it was on the roof. So, we went back again after we were done at the festival and checked it out, grabbing a drink and sharing an appetizer. It was insanely windy that day, so that was a bit ugh, and the rooftop is very small, but it's a super cool space to swing by especially during "off" times for a drink and/or bite.

Populus is a unique, exquisite hotel all of its own, and is easily identified from it's aspen tree-inspired design. As one of the only carbon positive hotels in the US, Populus shows its love for nature and sustainability. Really enjoyed what little bit of this hotel I got to experience. While we didn't stay at Populus as guests, we had heard great things about their Little Owl Coffee Shop. We came here to get coffee numerous times on our trip, and they have a great little sitting area to enjoy your drinks. Simple coffee menu with a few seasonal drinks, which means what they make, they make well. Really enjoyed their Matcha, and the Judy Garland was a refreshing, caffeinated twist of the classic Shirley Temple. Delicious pastry options. Their Strawberry Matcha cookie was soft and flavorful with chunks of dried strawberry on top. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, highly recommend you stop by to grab a coffee and witness the beautiful architecture.

Super cute hotel with a nice coffee shop. Just came here for the coffee but would love to stay there next time. Great place to study and the coffee was good

In town visiting Denver, and I needed my quick caffeine fix. Our friend recommended this coffee shop in the Populus hotel as a fast stop. The coffee bar is innocuously integrated with their lobby, and I wasn't really expecting much - maybe something flashy and overpriced. But I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the drinks. The quick stopped turned into an admittedly longer one as the lobby had spacious and plush seating as well as a beautiful light and airy ambiance. I can easily imagine myself coming here with my laptop to do some work and enjoy a couple coffees. We liked it here so much that we visited multiple times.

Love visiting little owl coffee shop located inside populus hotel. They have great drip coffee with free refills and they even give you a mug . They also have bonus seating upstairs .

Not to sound cliché, but where is the button for six stars? This hotel is beyond stunning, and the overall experience was wonderful. I'm not sure who the design team was for Populus, but I'd like them to come help renovate my home. It's evident that every detail was very thought out - so many textures, materitals, colors, patterns, and prints all brought together seamlessly. It's no wonder they landed on Time Magazine's recent list of "World's Greatest Places." Beyond its gorgeous architecture, the hospitality, room comfort, cleanliness and amenities were all superb. I was not only warmly greeted by the valet, but next a doorwoman, and then the front desk employee. Upon check-in, they filled me on all of the spaces to enjoy and explore. I was then given a wooden room key which apparently can be literally planted in the ground to grow a tree. I'm sorry, what!? How incredible. There were a handful of other nature-inspired aspects of the hotel too, like the soothing waterfall sounds in the elevators, wall made entirely of tree stumps, and their environmentalist-curated art collection. I stayed in a suite which was perfectly spacious, and very inviting. Love all of the unique windows- one of which even had a curved seat you can literally lay in. Solid in-room amenities like a full working desk, couch area, fridge with various options, usb ports, high quality hair dryer, tv that you can connect your personal apps to via phone, and triple shower heads. Oh and can I just say, having filtered water dispensers on every floor is an *elite* hotel move. Honestly, I appreciate that so much! During my stay, I used their gym (equipped with all of necessities), grabbed a latte from their coffee bar, enjoyed dinner in their rooftop restaurant, and lunch before leaving in their main floor dining area. Truly couldn't recommend this hotel more. I will certainly look to it on my next trip to Denver, and you should do the same!

Stayed at Populus Denver over the weekend. Let me just say the hotel itself is BEAUTIFUL. You can tell they put money and effort into everything as it is very aesthetically pleasing. I had the deluxe king room and something to note, the rooms here are VERY SMALL compared to all other hotels. You might want to check when booking to grab a larger room as even the deluxe level room was so tiny. The hotel does not have a sundries area so things like single use medication they did not have which I did find to be a huge inconvenience. There is also no app or chat feature, so you have to call the front desk for everything. Overall would stay again but would need a different sized room. The rooftop also started putting covers on the outdoor seating at 10pm even though I was told it closed at 11pm so it was a bit of a bummer. Some kinks to work out as it's new, but I think it's worth giving a shot if you want a 4-5 star hotel experience.

One of the coolest hotel experiences I've had in awhile. I can't get enough of looking at this cool building from the outside, but the inside was even cooler, with a gorgeous view from a hammock window you can sit in like a bed and watch the world go by. The hotel has a nature theme, which is a little funny the first time you hear the rainforest birds chirping in the elevator, but has an overall very peaceful and relaxing effect. This hotel also has excellent customer service, particularly at the front desk. I absolutely loved the view from my hammock window and spent a lot of time relaxing and reading there. Populus was an excellent home base for the excellent food and music I experienced on my trip to Denver. Oh, and the brunch restaurant is great, too.

I had such a fun and amazing stay here! I really appreciated the small touches that transformed my experience - the room key is a little round wooden token, the sound of birds in Estes Park chirping in the elevators, the flower seeds in the keycard holder, and the wood paneling! These touches immediately bring calm, nature, and peace to what could otherwise be a boring, stuffy hotel stay. That wouldn't be possible here at the Populus! The rooms are small, so know that before you come! It is intentional and a part of their vision for environmental sustainability. Even though the room was small, the aesthetic was soothing, and I was too obsessed with the Aspen windows to care too much. Truly, a beautiful building and cool concept! We didn't end up dining at either one of the restaurants here, mostly to save some $$. However, we did get drinks and breakfast at Little Owl! The first time I visited the coffeeshop downstairs, I had one of the best hot chocolates I have ever had! This time I tried a new drink and muffin, but was not as impressed with either. Bummer. The menu is unique, including a miso latte when I came (wow wow, I was certainly intrigued, but a little too nervous to actually order it). Points for creativity! I'm so glad I got to experience this stay and I would love to come back here for a staycation!

came to denver for a conference and stayed at populus for three nights -- such a great experience. staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, even offering delicious italian dinner recs and helping me navigate the area as someone new to town. room was on the cozier side, but super comfortable. the bed was soft (in the best way) and gave me some of the best sleep i've had in a while -- impressive considering the time zone shift and unfamiliar setting. the cafe downstairs served a solid cup of coffee and genuinely tasty pastries. also, shoutout to the housekeeping team -- absolutely stealthy. despite going in and out of my room multiple times a day. everything stayed tidy without ever feeling interrupted. overall, really glad i chose populus. would definitely stay here again.

Such a cool new spot in Denver! Populus is a modern hotel with a nice coffee shop, breakfast and lunch cafe as well as a roof top bar (opens at 4:30 pm). I love new modern places so Populus didn't disappoint. Coffee and breakfast were delicious and can't wait to check out their rooftop area. Didn't stay at the hotel since I am local but the atmosphere and the modern feel make this hotel feel like such a nice breath of fresh air. Looked like a wonderful place to stay while in Denver!

The location really can't be beat. You're right in the heart of LoDo. Coors Field is a few blocks from the hotel and Union Station (which connects directly to Denver Airport) is only about a 5 minute walk away. Tons of restaurants, bars, and things to do are all within walking distance, which makes it extremely convenient. When booking, I asked for a high floor, quiet room so I could work. Upon check-in, they honored that request and also upgraded my room from a Journeyman to an Innovator Suite which I greatly appreciated. That upgrade definitely elevated the stay! The Innovator Suite was fantastic. It had two queen beds, two TVs, a full sofa, wet bar, dining table, flexible workspace, and city views overlooking Denver's LoDo District. The bathroom had a large soaking tub, which I had to take advantage off. There's no balcony and while the wet bar includes a small fridge, it's not really functional for anything beyond drinks as there's no space for leftovers or larger items. You also get a token per night to redeem for a free drink at the bar during happy hour, plus free drip coffee in the mornings. Other perks include free churros during social hour, a courtesy car service within a 2 mile radius, and discounts at various shops. There's also a fitness center, although I didn't use it. There were some things missing though: no pool, no spa, housekeeping is by request only, and no breakfast included. Service throughout was excellent. There's 24 hour front desk service and everyone I interacted with was cheerful, helpful, and kind. Overall, a strong stay with great service, a fantastic room upgrade, and an excellent location, even if a few expected amenities were missing for the price. If I had to come back to Denver and the company was covering the bill, I would stay again. The location really can't be beat. If I were coming for a leisure trip with a similar budget, I'd probably look for a hotel with a pool and spa instead. This hotel is best suited for people who want to experience LoDo nightlife, catch a game, or just be right in the middle of everything downtown. The room I was upgraded to was probably much more expensive than what I actually paid, which definitely improved the experience. I'm not sure I would feel the same way if I had stayed in the original room I booked. 4.5 stars rounded down.

The first 5 days the cereal was Cheerios and labeled gluten free, the other container had lucky charms and was labeled as Chex gluten free. Thank goodness my child knew that it was lucky charms and indeed gluten. The internet was spotty, I was working from the premises the entire time and often had to use my own hotspot. The washing machine for guest use requires quarters, which you have to buy from the front desk with cash. Two times the washer broke during use and I had to bag soaking wet clothes to hand over to maintenance to take to be washed. There is only one washer and dryer. Very disappointing for a long length of stay. Also in the age of technology there are several hotels that laundry is managed with an app, allowing me to pay via app and see how much long is left and if the machines are available. There is a lack of trash receptacles in the hotel. There are none on each floor by the elevator. Myself as well as others on our floor would leave a bag of trash outside of our room daily as we don't want our room to smell like the food we ate all day/night. On our first full day here we took it down to look for a trash can and the one outside the front doors where people unload their vehicle was overflowing, we noted this multiple days of our stay. Housekeeping were friendly in the halls, they service rooms once every 3 days. Since I was working in the room and I kept the room clean we used the sign on the door to opt to have them come when we were ready. If I saw them in the halls it was easy to get trash bags, towels and cups. One day we requested service and sat in the lobby working all day and they never came by. Keep in mind it's a refresh, our bed was already made and we keep our room clean, I just wanted a tidy of the bathroom counter, towels etc. I had to reach out to the front desk to ask around 415 for service but it needed to be quick because we were coming back to the room. They were able to oblige and serviced it quickly. The refrigerators are very small and not cold, perhaps an option in some rooms for people with lengthier stays to have a larger refrigerator and freezer options. We couldn't purchase any frozen items for our lengthy stay with only a small fridge. The location is nice, easy to get to anywhere on campus or to the downtown area, performing arts area etc. several Ubers are often in the area for further driving needs. Over all of we came to Denver for a long stay I might consider staying here but would look at options with better amenities for food and wash. For a short stay it would meet my needs.
