When you get there the loud speaker announcement states they have appointments available within 5 days. I almost laughed because it's wildly inaccurate. I'd booked an appointment a few days before for the first one available - almost 3 weeks out. Even if you go by business days, it's not close to being accurate. Currently they'll let you sign in, get a number, wait for 30 minutes, then call your number, and at your window you'll be told to make an appointment and they'll refuse to help you further. It's absolutely bonkers and I've never seen anything like it. After I was told I could wait an additional 3-4 hours for the possibility of speaking with someone, I asked if like the DMV they could text me when someone can speak with me. No. No, they don't do that either. I left. I will say I ended up googling and found a great thread that talked about the different processes people have used to get into their non-working SSA accounts. I tried a few of them and was finally able to log in via IDme on an incognito window so I could download a statement of my account, which solved about half of what I needed. Overall, it was a pretty awful and extremely inefficient experience all around. Definitely would not recommend.

We did not, so we had to take a number and wait about 20 minutes or so. He was so kind and helpful to all, greeting them ad they walked in, and saying "ok have a great day" as they walked out. The lady that we saw was patient snd explained everything to us. We were only supposed to get one set of pages 1-14 and she entered all the answers into the system that we had already done, and as for what we needed clarification on, she was very helpful and cleared it up. 5 stars for her! She said we should expect to see another set of pages come in the next couple of weeks and if we had more questions to come and see her! A lot of it was repetitive, we had no problem filling it out, but my husband did go in person to turn it in rather than put it in the mail. ( This was right during the primary voting so we didn't want it to be delayed). This is a very long review , but I hope it encourages someone to go in, and get help or clarification on SS paperwork.

Imagine a place you would see in a movie of a small town, it's here. Even arriving in the evening, it's not something you see back in the big city. Driving into town, the main strip of downtown, there were rows and rows of chairs and other items left out on the street. Reserved spot for the parade that was happening along the strip. And the park at the entrance had blankets and towels just laying out all day and night. You would never see something like that back in LA. It'll be gone by the time you get back. The main strip is basically the heart of town. Cute boutiques, mom and pop shops, a couple of amazing bakeries, bars and restaurants. Just browsing each stores and walking in, you literally feel like you're in a hallmark movie. And just the next block over, the waterfront. Catching the sunset after dinner or walking along the path, it's nice to experience something completely different from the hustle and bustle of the city. Just like your tiny town, places do close early. Restaurant tend to be closed around 8/9pm depending on where you are. We only checked out the main strip of downtown as the property was literally steps from it. Everyone was so friendly. We also happened to be there when the farmers market was happening. Thursday late afternoon was when it was held towards the end of the road. Vendors with their trinkets, baked goods, fresh fruits and vegetables and so on. Also a good amount of food stalls on hand. It does bring the people into town. From my first experience, I would say this city is so cute. Definitely will be back again, hopefully soon. And to see chairs just on the sidewalk overnight to reserved a spot, it was quite something. People respecting others properties.

At the same time ask the person what you should prepare to bring with you (forms, id, other members of the family, etc etc); 2- Arrive for your appt 10 min early so you have time to get through the security check (similar to TSA at airport). There is plenty of FREE Parking there! 3- Be kind to the security check people -- they're just doing their job. 4- Have everything in hand for your appt, so when you're called to go to a Window, you're ready. They will first ask for your ID. 5- Both times I visited this office, the window agents were first rate. They answered all my questions and gave me tips on how to proceed afterwards. I really appreciate the competence + excellence of all the people I've interacted with here.

But I made my way to the second floor and see the door for vital records. The door was closed, but the sign says to come in. The waiting room is very small with about 5 chairs. The person at the window was very helpful, took my request, accepted my payment, and came out a few minutes later with the documents. Everything took about 10 minutes in and out. They are located in Martinez, across the street from some condos. There's a parking lot, and the place reminds me of the DMV but less cars and people. Overall, a quick and easy experience.
